Roy looks at Farthran with relief, but straightens up to report. “I can’t make sense of it yet. Brendan’s wife is dead. Her skull was probably used for the glass golem. His child is missing, but we found scales in the crib. Gold ones. This was after Victor became an abomination for some sort. He got hold of one of the magic items and transformed into a great beast. We brought him down, but not without help. I would like to continue on, but… we have no idea what we’re walking into.”
Falken looks around confused before shaking his head slightly. He places a hand on his head and to make sense of what he can only assume was a headache. He heads over to his workbench and begins to tinker on a rogue bag and his little servant, changing it from a bird to a flying squirrel. He will then quickly move some items from his backpack into his bag of holding. Once he is finished with these two things, he will lay back down and attempt to finish his sleep.
(Falken is casting Infuse Item to turn a random sack he has into a Bag of Holding. I was going to activate the Homunculus Servant but I don't have the required item, so I'll just change it's shape from a bird to a flying squirrel.)
With the others speaking Grahl will move to look out the open window. Just to make sure Brendan is gone or if he can still spot something.
As Farthran answers Roy Grahl waits for him to finish before adding his own question. Do you think Brendan lied to you about something coming for him? Brendan is more dangerous than we thought but we cannot be certain if he is the one behind all of this.
“Perhaps. He may have just been frightened. He could’ve killed the sergeant, after all.” Roy shakes his head. “In either case, we must find him. Still, after that difficulty today: we should regroup. Rest. Our bodies can only take so much punishment, and our minds accept only so much toil. It will do us little good to charge in headlong if we are so exhausted that we fail to help anyone.”
"You all do realise he is carrying the majority of the magic items? I don't know if Brendan and the magic items are a distraction for something else going on, or a real attempt at gathering the items, but where the items are one or the other will follow."
Gillian watches the group grasp at loose ends, awaiting the inevitable… maybe we should try exiting the dome and checking out that direction Gillian was pointing… but he stayed calm and sighed a few times….
“ok looks like you all have this under control… since everyone said rest is so important, that’s I’m gonna go do… see you all in the morning, and don’t stay up too late… I have a feeling tomorrow is gonna be a rough day…” Gillian heads to the barracks to sleep off the physical and mental weight of it all.
Falken: After working off the nervous energy from being woken up so abruptly, you manage to lie back down and get some sleep.
Klok & Roy: Farthran shakes his head when you tell him about Patricia, "Such a shame, she was a kind lovely woman." Hearing about Victor he looks up, "What happened to this man? He sounds very dangerous."
Klok:
Passive Perception 16: You feel like Farthran had no reaction to the mention of the crib/scales or perhaps missed it.
Otis & Grahl: You look out the window but don't really see any signs of footprints or anything of that manner. Farthran looks over as you ask him your question, "I don't know, he seemed scared, I humored him to attempt to make him feel better. He didn't seem violent at all."
Gillian: You make it back to the barracks and lie down, weary from the activities of the day. You don't find it hard to drift off to blissful sleep.
During the night you dream, you stand before the mountains, looking up at the shield that cuts right down into it part way up. You sense a calling of some sort coming from nearby and investigating you find a narrow natural tunnel leading down into a cave mostly concealed by a large boulder. Climbing down, you descend into darkness...
Klok speaks in a calm voice "Well Victor has perished in our battle. It took quite a bit out of us all but he has perished. Perhaps you know more about what is happening? For instance, finding scales in the child's crib? It is awfully hard to help when it seems everyone around us is withholding information. It would be a great help Farthran if you told us all that you know." Klok smiles and holds out his hands as if to say the floor is yours
Gillian collects himself and the next morning over tea and breakfast discusses his thoughts… “no one but who is in this room, this team, this last hope. Can truly be trusted… look around… these are the last hope for you as well….”
he hesitates, not wanting to get into another argument about logic… “where the shield meets the mountain… we’ll have to head out soon… dilly dally all you want I won’t try to force anyone l, sometimes it seems Klok and Falken are the fastest in the group…”
“anyway time waits for no man…” Gillian looks around… “so think hard on what you are each awaiting, and say your goodbyes… just in case”
he murmurs to himself… “where the shield cleaves the mountain…. The shield is not completely impenetrable… the mountains hide a passageway…”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Otis turns from the window to speak to Farthran,"I'm pretty sure Victor was Victor the beastlord, except for the fact he turned into those remains." Otis points to Victor's remains.
"and they are remarkably similar to the remains of the glassman, when he died. He did have quite a bit of knowledge about how the shielding was made that isn't common knowledge. We also didn't kill him some tentacles came up and, Consumed (?), him. He called out Dezera, the hive mind I believe, as he died."
"So you see Ol' Klok's questions aren't unreasonable." Otis will say in an attempt to assist Klok in persuading Farthran to give up more information.
Farthran shakes his head, "Even though he is acting odd, I feel as if I am giving up secrets that are not mine to tell. The scales came from the child. Brendan was upset... in a fit of tears he told me the child is part dragonborn. I don't even know how it's possible, and neither did he. He's very confused, hurt, and angry. It was after that, that he became fearful of someone finding him. You know the rest..."
Otis shakes his head no to having anymore questions. Unless someone else has a suggestion will wait and leave with the rest to go get sleep for the rest of the night.
When the morning finally comes, Falken will slowly get out of bed. He does his daily duties by cleaning up the house, cooking a hot meal for his daughter then get's himself ready for the day. He makes sure he has his new bag, tucks it away in his backpack and heads out the door to meet with the others. After meeting up with the others, he'll find a seat and greet them. Falken will look like a brand new man after his rest. In a chipper voice, he says.
"Good morning youngins! I hope y'all had a nice peaceful rest! Are we ready to go on and start the day?!"
Falken takes a moment to think. "I'm pretty good with my hands, and good with a slew of tools, however, I was never one for sewing. I could give it a go though."

Otis lets Roy report while he looks around. Walking into the holding room he will look out the window to see if there are any tracks or evidence.

Otis is standing around sweaty from his morning run, holding a freshly cleaned and sewn tunic.
"As far as I know. Pops did say if I rip up this tunic again, I would have to sew it myself. "
"Anyone know how to sew?",Otis will ask.
