"Damn dwarves and their solid doors," Ran mutters to himself when the door doesn't budge at all.
He looks around for where someone might have helpfully just left the keys (is that a chest in the alcove to the north - if so he'll head that way). While he does though, he draws his crossbow and takes aim at the fiery creature behind them and lets a bolt fly.
"The thing can be wounded!" Meili stopped kicking the dead horse traitorous newt and watched the "injury" on the fire monster with satisfaction. "We can take it," declared she with the determination of a cornered mouse.
You cannot see Hew'sface as he stares down the monster, but you hear his wordless cry of rage as he charges it, drawing his rapier.
Just as he arrives, Ran'scrossbow bolt catches the creature right on the end of the snout, and it hisses loudly in apparent pain.
Hew lashes out with his rapier, stabbing at the creature and trying to force it to retreat. His first thrust misses but his second strike jabs deep into the monster's face.
Rapier Attack: 23 Piercing Damage: 11
The monster opens its mouth and roars, the sound is that of an inferno, a raging furnace burning out of control.
[Reaction] The fire monster braces its clawed feet on the bridge. Huge gill-like openings widen on its neck and then vent out an eruption of hot, sulfurous gas that briefly form a cloud 5' around the creature. Con save DC 13.
HewCON save: 11
Hewstaggers as heat blisters form on his skin and he coughs in agony as the gasses work their way into his lungs. He takes 11 Fire Damage and is poisoned for 1 minute.
The creature then puffs up, drawing air into its body and then perches higher on its forelegs. From its mouth, it expels a ball of fire and rock, over Hewand into the midst of those hurling spells, bolts and boomerangs at it. It lands near Danica'sfeet and explodes. Danica, Micaand Meilimust all make DC 13 DEX saves. They take 11 Fire Damage, or half that on a successful save.

Undeterred, he pushes through the others to stand next to Hew in front of the creature and tries to buy the others some time to open the door. He marks the creature as his foe and strikes twice with his handaxes, trying to find purchase in the creature's tough hide.

Nalomanterys doesn't even wait to see what fresh hell has just appeared behind them - he crouches, hands on head, and rushes past his allies to the far end of the bridge. ((moves 30 ft toward the door and off to the side (his right) as far as he can to get away from this thing)).
Turning around to see the colossal source of sound, smell and heat, the wizard bemoans the group's fate: "Blood and shite! I knew we shouldn't have trusted that newt!"
Despite his self pity, Nalomanterys the Great quickly gathers himself and joins in the attack, waving his fingers and then pointing right at the eye of the enormous fire lizard. A palm-sized rock pries itself free of the cavern floor and zips toward the enemy.

Meili was still too far from the monster with no means in that bright light to get over three people in front of her. She tried, nevertheless to do so.
If her assessment was correct and the magical cloak did not work, Meili tried to slip past the others closer to the creature.
If flyover is not possible, Meili moves slowly past Nalomanterys [cost double movement, right?] and throws the boomerang from behind Hew:

Flying is possible here, but as you have already seen, it is touch and go, as the glow from the magma seems to be somewhere very near the limit where the cloak works, or does not work.
You are able to fly over top of the monster. Though your hands are busy holding the edges of the cloak, you are free to make your kick attacks.
However, I need you to roll a D20 at the start of your next turn, and any additional turns where you are still flying in this chamber at the start of the turn. On an Even result, you continue to fly. On an odd result, the magma flares brighter, briefly, and the make of the cloak is unable to keep you aloft. We will address the results of that if and when it becomes necessary.
Meiligrasps her cloak and sails into the air, over top of the thrashing magma monster. She lands a pair swift and brutal kicks to the creature's back.
It appears your attacks are beginning to take a toll. The monster is glowing less bright than before, as if the heat of the magma burning inside of it is beginning to cool, and more of its surface is turning to black rock.
[Reaction] Yet as Meilifinishes kicking it, it once again grips the bridge with its clawed feet and flares its gills open wide, releasing a cloud of hot, sulfurous gas. Those within 5' of the monster [Mica, Hewand Meili] must make a DC 13 CON save. On a failed save, they each take 11 fire damage and are poisoned for 1 minute. On a successful save they take half as much damage and are not poisoned.

Danica, still glowing with starlight, launches a pair of magical attacks at the magma beast. She fires another beam of light and a coil of thorny vines.
Thorn Whip Attack: 19 Damage: 1 Though her thorns grab the monster, the presence of Hewand Micain the way prevent it from being pulled toward her.
Starry Form Archer Spell Attack: 19 Damage: 4 Another beam of light scorches a section of the beast's rocky flesh.
Unable to keep up the combo of hits, Ran'sbolt sails away in the magma chamber, far from its intended target. Moving into the side chamber, Ransees a chest full of quartz-like rocks. Each one glows and pulses with a reddish-orange light, as though they each had a tiny flame inside.
