The magma beast flares its gills again in response to Meili's attacks... but instead of the cloud of sulfurous gas, there is just a hiss of steam. The reddish glow of the monster dims, and its head dips. Quickly, the molten rock of the creature hardens into glass-like igneous rock... a black, glossy statue that was once a monster.

Nalomanterys wipes his forehead with the back of his trembling, soot-covered arm. Repeatedly tugging on the collar of his robe to create airflow, he takes a seat in a "cool" spot in the corner, as far away from the bridge as he can get. The others will be able to take care of Mica, he thinks to himself, as he sees the ranger rising after the lizard's onslaught.
After a few minutes, Nalomanterys is as recomposed as he can be given the current situation. "I don't suppose we need to reclaim the gauntlet anymore." he announces, implying that the Dwarves will be able to take it at their leisure with all the Newts dead. He steps over the body of the dead warlock and pulls its amulet out of its scaled hands. He inspects the red crystal, wondering its worth. [DM, I need a gem worth 100gp to use as the material component for identify. Would this fit the bill?]
The wizard then takes a passing glance at the door and the chest, expecting his party to be more interested in them than himself.
Meili straightened up and helped Mica to his feet. Obsidian-like sculpture still emanating heat noticeable even above the river of lava did not encourage lingering on the bridge. But once past it, she looked back.
"From a distance and when not spilling lava, it looks even... decorative?" The place was far from a Zen garden, though, to relax and meditate on the rocks. She turned away and went to the doors, not touching them yet but studying.
"We do not have proof that we really cleaned the place up. Nor did we completely finish the job - there are those strange creatures in the mist still, right? Hope they do not count. Still, I'm afraid we need to get past the door." There was no regret in her voice, however. More like curiosity, despite the exhaustion the fights left everyone with.
"Aren't you curious?" Meili set down on the floor by the door. "But we need some rest first."
Ran looks out at the new statue on the bridge a few moments than shakes his head.
He turns back to the door.
"If there isn't a lever somewhere, there must be a key." Ran says, then look around the cavern. "Maybe a lever somewhere someone could watch the door safely from?"
Ran looks for any outcroppings, cave openings, other ledges a sentry could watch this doorway from.
Nalomanterys, upon inspection, the amulet around the newt's neck is not a gem... rather it is an unusual type of fire quartz. It is identical to the other pieces Ranfound in the chest inside the alcove. While not the type of gem you need, you recognize that each of these pieces of fire quartz would work well as a spellcasting focus.
Ran, the only lever you can see is back on the other side of the bridge, past the monster's 'corpse'... the same lever Meili used to open the adamantine gate leading into the forge room.
