So I was running a game with 3 people but one of the players had to stop because of IRL reasons. Now looking for a new player to fill that gap.
Some campaign information:
The PCs were asked to come to Neverwinter by Gundren for a task. However when they got there the whole town was seemingly abandoned. After a bit of digging around in the fog and realizing that no matter how they move, they end up walking in circles because clearly something is very wrong here, they explore the buildings, fight some weird monsters and then head to the guard station to find a way out of the town. There they meet a 5-headed Dragon Wyrmling. The Wyrmling explains that she is Tiamat's avatar but in a very weak form. This is because Neverwinter is being assimilated into the world of an evil god from another world. The PCs are now the only hope to save the entire multiverse from being taken over by this evil god.
Party Information:
The party consists of a Kobold Draconic Sorcerer and a Kobold Artificer. The Sorcerer is trying to inherit the leadership role of the clan. The Artificer is his friend and is helping. They've agreed to help Tiamat save the world. Why does a Chaotic Evil Dragon god want to save the world? Because if she doesn't do anything, everyone, including herself, is going to be doomed.
Character Creation Information:
Class: No restriction Level: 5 Race: Kobold (We are going for an all Kobold Party) Stats: Point Buy or Standard Array Equipment: Instead of picking standard equipment, you can start with any non-magical, common equipment that isn't potions. A limiting factor is your carrying capacity. Backstory: You are free to create any backstory you wish though I will state how I'm going to introduce your character to the party since you are joining mid-way. The god they are up against is one of madness and messes with memories. As such, your character will run into the party and everyone will remember them being there from the start. Your character either started out to help the Sorcerer or Gundren from the Kobold nest or they may have met up with the party on their way to Neverwinter. At least that's what they remember due to the evil gods memory shenanigans. Also note any negative life event (such as a death of a loved one or a action they regret taking) the character has gone through.
Special Rules: All equipment have two new stats: HP and Degradation. When an attack against you is more than what your AC would be unarmored, then your armor or shield take damage. When ever you attack with your weapon, it takes damage. The damage done is equal to degradation stat of your equipment. You may repair your equipment with Smith's tools. Tolls also have HP and degradation but it takes damage when you fail a check using them (double damage on nat1). Casting Mending degrades your casting focus. Item HP lost this way can't be recovered.
I'll keep this open for a few days. Feel free to ask any questions or for details.
I see Zorn as a proud kobold. His father and/or mother was likely someone of high importance in his clan, and had an item that was passed down generation to generation. Whatever that item is, it has now come to Zorn, and he prizes it and, likely, sets his own value based on having that item. I am leaving much of this blank, as I would like to work with you, if I am picked for this game, on what the item is. As the item is central here, I need to know that before I can put together a true backstory. Also, I left a few things blank on the sheet, as I would like to change them to Tasha's material instead of the standard Ranger build.
What are your opinions on optional class features in Tasha's? I'm thinking of playing a ranger, but they're not very fun to play (at least in my experience) without the feature changes from Tasha's.

"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."
-He was kidnapped at a very young age, and sold to some low level pirate. From there he was passed around from crew to crew, until he decided to sign up for work under one of the most infamously dangerous pirate lords, and sail into a sea of chaos stirred stormy seas churned by evil gods and demons. He was one of the few crew members to make it, and grew in power and status because of his tenacity and new found stormy might. His pirate lord gave Zadock his own vessel and crew to sail under his fleet. However, on a scouting mission into the chaotic sea, his ship was thrashed apart by an eldritch being. His entire crew perished, and he was left marooned on a raft and nearly died before being rescued. The experience left him a little less sane, and with a new, emboldened purpose. He now sets out to find these Eldritch beings to understand why they do what they do, and fight they refuse to answer his pleas.
Alright. I got a lot of applications for 1 spot open so I'm closing the recruitment early. Within 1 hour of me writing this post, I will have already sent PMs to anyone who was accepted. If you haven't received a PM within 1 hour of this post going up, I'm sorry and better luck next time.
It was really hard choosing a player from all these great suggestions. So hard in fact that I ended up picking out two. So yeah, if you didn't get in, really sorry. Hope you find a good game to join.
So... Recruitment closed. Thanks for applying.

i would be happy to join. I'm new here though.
Okay. Just tell me the character name, class, background and backstory. I'll let everyone know when recruitment closes and a player is picked.

Regardging Tasha's: If you have access to it, you can use it. I don't mind.
