Kathleen says, "Well, okay. I understand what you're saying. But we are going deeper so why don't you wait here alone where more mechanical goblins and Bubba might show up? I guess you could also go back and wait near the cart and look out for giant vultures that might fly around in the sky. Also, you could guard our stuff from viciousBandits with sharp and deadly weapons if you wait so that's also good for us. But you could always tag along with us strong adventurers as we go deeper into the tunnels."
"Er, er, er, perhaps it would be more beneficial to the company to have one of my race down in these tunnels. You would probably get lost at the first triple-wind you found."
Ghorbash turns to the others, and says shortly, "I go now." He heads down the tunnel with his shield and battleaxe at the ready. Relying on his infravision, he attempts to seek signs of more of the goblins and this mysterious 'Bubba.' His senses are alive as hid bloodlust is building in every fiber of his muscles. He starts tightening and loosing his grip on the axe handle as he walks.
"Let's go then," Ayoola nods and then follows Ghorbash. She turns towards Dwinkle and says: "Don't worry, if these goblins can survive down here, so can we."
Ennis pauses as the group decides to press onward, lost in his own thoughts.
I hate to say this, but I think I'm going to have to bow out of this game. I've already got too many games on my plate and need to trim a few, and while the RP in this game has been pretty good, I just don't feel like I've really clicked with this character or with this group. In short, posting for this game has started to feel like a chore to me rather than something fun I want to do, for reasons I'm not entirely certain of myself.
That said, I wish you guys the best of luck as you continue on this adventure!
(PS: If you guys want me to, I can RP Ennis leaving the party and perhaps taking Dwinkle with him. The two would wait back on the surface with the wagon until the rest of you guys come back up, at which point I'd be willing to just let JJ use Ennis as another regular NPC.)
The part delves deeper into the dark tunnels, with only the light of a few torches to light their way.
Assuming a few of you without darkvision lit torches
Nothing can be heard but the clicking of your boots on the stone floor and the scurrying of dark things in darker corners. Dwinkle leads the way, and barely hesitates when he encounters a difficult turn. "The legends tell that the great city ever pointed north" He explains. After an hour of such traveling, you come upon your first obstacle: A massive pool of subterranean water, situated in an open cavern. It streches across the entire cavern, and you can just make out the far shore by the light of your torches, thirty feet away. The entire cavern is roughly fifty feet wide by fifty feet long. The surface of the pool is as black as night and perfectly still, not a ripple disfiguring its surface.
I'm very sorry to hear it, Ennis. I hope this is not caused by my DM skills. You can roleplay your way out of here however you feel is best. Good luck on the rest of your campaigns.
Kathleen had a good view of the pool thanks to her darkvison. She smiles and says, "You know, I always loved seeing large underground bodies of water. Something about those things always seemed magical to me." She then adds in a serious tone, "As much as I always wanted to swim in one, 9 out 10 pools of water I saw during my time with my old team had hostile wild life in it... And the 10th one was a giant mass of goo."
She looks around and thinks for a while. She considers tying a rope to an arrow and using it as a tight rope bridge but decides it may not be the best idea. Instead she advises everyone to stand back. Then she throws a large enough rock into as close to the center of the pool as she can. She does this standing 10ft away from the water body.
With his senses alive, he wonders aloud, "Is this the mouth of some beast?" He peers at the edge of the pool to determine if it is stone or something more...sinister.

Intimidation? 16
(I wasn't sure whether to roll persuasion or intimidation. If it is persuasion then it will be 16+2 = 18.)
Dwinkle goes white.

"Great! So..." She turns to the rest of the party, "What do you say about going the way the goblins came from/ retreat to?"
Gris "Let's go. I hope they will have something to eat"

Adoy will take up the rear trying to keep hidden and looking for anything coming from behind.

The rock lands with a solid thunk, but when the ripples clear still nothing has surfaced, or even moved. The pool is as still as death.

Kathleen tries to make a estimate on how deep the water might be.

(If it needed Investigation, it would be the same number since both have a +2 Modifier for me)
Shame to see you go, Ennis. Good Luck in your games.
It is unnaturally deep for such a small pool, and the depth cannot even be estimated.

Gris "Do you think goblins swim in it?"
Ghorbash
With his senses alive, he wonders aloud, "Is this the mouth of some beast?" He peers at the edge of the pool to determine if it is stone or something more...sinister.
Kathleen looks at Ghorbash and grins widely. "Well, there's always one way to find out." She fires an arrow in to the pool.
If it is the mouth of some beast, To hit: 11 Damage: 6
The pool remains still, aside from the commotion caused by the arrow. But even this seems more like it was swallowed than fell in of its own accord.

I don't need a torch, I have the Light cantrip. :P
Which Ayoola will use on a stone. She then throws it into the pool. "This at least should help determine how deep it is."
OOC: Maybe Ennis will try to swim in it ?
