There is noise down the holes as they are sealed, but the blockade of barrels and crates put a stop to it. It sounds like more Gohmas coming up the holes toward them before they are blocked in, ending the threat...at least for a little bit.
"O. O. O. O!" Tuto jogs over to Oten with his hands outstretched. Still feeling the rush of battle, he was eager to let off a bit more steam, and get to help out his new friend. With a grunt, Tuto salutes to Oten before climbing up onto the javelin. He took a few test hops before jumping and stomping down on his end of the weapon.
Lelith smoothly returned the arrow to her quiver, she looked surprised at Oten's response. She looked amused and responded in kind. "How much of your processing power was needed to generate that much wit? Here I thought you were but unfeeling metal."
She didn't wait for an answer, they had already explored a good majority of this part of the Great Deku Tree. She returned to the entrance from which they had come and stepped up the stairs. The hole did not hinder her as she gracefully made it across as if she was but gliding on the air while being supported by some invisible threads.
Rum watches Lelith leave the room, after a curt conversation with Oten. He smiles at their interaction and wanders over to his metal friend.
”Not sure if you have feelings friend Oten, but even if you do they would not be noticed by her. It’s just the way she is. You get used to it”, he says with a shrug and a smile.
”Now what’s in this here crate? And how are you all with locks? I don’t want to leave without checking out the contents of that there chest myself”, he says to the others in the room whilst motioning at the locked chest.
Oten see's the contents of the crate with Tuto by his side as it opens.
The chest is locked, with a key hole worked directly into a steel banded plate on the front of it. The chest is also heavy and hard to move, and appears to be very sturdily built. More so, in fact, than the crate that the book came out of.
Lelith clears the hole in the stairs with no issues, almost like she floated over it.
"Oh my, what is this?" Oten reaches into the crate and removes a book. He opens it up and flips through a few pages, pauses, and then flips through a few more. "Very curious indeed. The pages... dance sometimes. I think that's as good a way as any to describe it. I cannot immediately derive any meaning from it, but I think I may hang on to this for continued inspection."
When the crate was opened, Ro was also there to see its contents. As Oten flipped through the pages, the elf-dwarf also noticed how the pages 'danced' as the warforged put it. "During all my studies, I've never seen a book like this before. And for it to be magical while bereft of any identifiable schools of magic makes it even more peculiar."
As Oten made motions to stow the book away, Ro put a gentle hand on the warforge's arm, "If you give me a moment, I can cast Identify on the book. We've still the chest to try and unlock, so that should give me ample time to cast the lengthy spell."
On her side, Lelith explored the upper floor, she moved cautiously and silently to the left side of the floor. She moved to inspect the area, there were broken wooden crates...
Greko watches the group struggle and exclaims "OH! Greko has an idea about the locking mechanism. Greko can freeze the lock to break it open. Gre, I have done this once or twice in my years roaming this realm. Draw some water into the lock, freeze it and expand it until the lock pops and break....Should I give it a try?"
Ro accepts the book, excited to have the odd item in his hands. "I don't mind at all, feel free to watch."
The elf-dwarf pulls a pure-white pearl out from his pouch and tosses it into the air. In a swift and practiced motion, Ro snaps his fingers, conjuring his quill pen, and makes a wide, horizontal stroke. This causes the pearl to glow a faint blue before rematerializing into an arcane circle which hovers directly in front of the elf-dwarf. Ro places the book into the center of the circle, suspending it in midair. Using his pen, he then proceeds to fill out the arcane circle with various runes while occasionally chanting a few words. The entire process takes 11 minutes.
When the ritual completes, Ro grabs the book as the arcane circle reverts back into a pearl. Glowing a much brighter blue than before, Ro takes the pearl and looks to Oten, "Alright, let's see what this book is all about."
The elf-dwarf pushes the pearl to his forehead and it begins to lose its shine as Ro receives whatever knowledge his magic has gleamed of the book.
The pearl returned to its normal hue, but Ro continues to hold the pearl to his head. Moments pass by but Ro remained still and unresponsive, as if his body was paused in time. Another moment later and, finally, Ro blinked as he seemingly came back into consciousness.
The elf-dwarf slowly places the pearl back into his pouch, looks at the grimoire still in his hands, and then to Oten. "This book tried to... link minds with me?" Ro said this while still trying to process what had happened. "Not in a malicious way, I sensed no danger. It felt like a rush of knowledge was flowing into me. I think... I think it was trying to teach me more magic..."
Ro gripped the grimoire tightly. The elf-dwarf was a studious man; he believed invested time and resources into learning was never a waste. And here, in his hands, was an odd book that was literally trying to bestow him with more arcane techniques. The elf-dwarf looked at Oten, failing to hide his excitement. He spoke so that the entire band could hear, "In short, this book contains a compendium of spells. The individual that links minds with it will have limited access to said spells. However, I'm not sure what spells it holds and the book seems to be nearly spent; only a few uses left."
"Speaking so highly of another book while I'm in earshot is quite bold of you, Ro,"Kazek remarked, using one of his ribboned bookmarks to lightly jab at the elf-dwarf's side..
Ro chuckled at the joke and then addressed his band once more, "I would love nothing more than to have it for myself; I want to experiment with it and see if I can add the grimoire's spells to my own repertoire. Turn the limited uses into permanent techniques at my disposal, if possible. But, it'd be unfair of me to simply claim it for myself, so I'm opening it up to group discussion. What shall we do with the book?"

Lelith looked annoyed, she pulled out an Unbreakable Arrow and offered it for Ro to use. "Be quick."
Oten looks at the arrow and says, "Thanks, but I think this will serve us better. The arrow looks like it would probably just break."
"O. O. O. O!" Tuto jogs over to Oten with his hands outstretched. Still feeling the rush of battle, he was eager to let off a bit more steam, and get to help out his new friend. "I think you will find there is a bit more to me than mere, unfeeli- ahh she's gone," Oten responds flatly as he continues to apply pressure

Rum looks a little confused. "Why such a large crate for just a book?", he wonders out loud before shrugging.
"Do you have an attachment for opening chests as well Oten?", he asks as he sits on top of the chest and knocks on it.
When the crate was opened, Ro was also there to see its contents. As Oten flipped through the pages, the elf-dwarf also noticed how the pages 'danced' as the warforged put it. “That would be most useful, friend Greko”, Rum replies enthusiastically and jumps off the chest and takes out his water-skin so he can help.
Greko pours some of the water from Rum into the lock of the chest and casts shape water freezing and expanding the lock hoping to break it
Oten stops and turns to Ro. "You have such magics? That sounds very useful. Do you mind if I observe the process?" He holds the book out for Ro.
