With Ward and Shavaris talking to the fairy on top of the carriage the tiny one looks towards the head of Shavaris popping over the side. Delph seems really worried and stressed as they reply "I... I know. It's just... I dueled my sister to be the one out here... now I wish I was the one that lost." They pull their knees in tight against their chest. Its not that they are sad but rather... the brave fairy who normally shows no fear at all is afraid. Its almost an alien concept on Delph's features. Their world is being turned upside down, "I... I thought everything would be okay... but... The Deku Tree dying? That's like... learning your home is burning down... I don't understand, why would they do that? Don't they want a forest too? If they kill the Deku tree... I thought they just wanted trees to make things... that's what bad big people often come to the forest to do... we can always replant seeds but... what if the Deku Tree dies?" They seem to almost shake with worry as they say ominously "I didn't think the Deku Tree could ever die... I don't even know if the Deku Tree dying is affecting my mother or not, she's a druid of them. Is she losing her magic? Is she dying too? I don't know how deep her connection to the Deku tree is... I should of paid more attention to her magic lessons."
They begin to silently cry as a few tears fall. They hide their face away from Shavaris when this starts but it takes them time to stop. After a few minutes they wipe their tears away then look over at Shavaris then walk to them and gets on their hand as they say "I'm sorry... I'm being a bad fairy being all sad and worried. I just need some time and I'll be happy again. I'll try to rest." The fairy is so distracted they don't seem to notice their injuries very much despite the couple of hits on them. A thin cut across the length of their left arm as well as some bruising on their front from when they were smacked. They seem ready to lay down and rest at least for a short time. Intending to get up and pull their duty later to cover a watch when needed.
“You are not a bad fairy my friend. Being scared is normal, I am scared for my home as well, but I know what I must do even if I must leave them by themselves. Sleep however long you require, we have your back.” Ward says, reaching out his fist to give Delph a fist bump before turning back to the watch, small flickers of lightning beginning to flow through his “veins” as he watches, seeming to try and do something with his druidcraft as he watches.

"I might not be bad but I guess I take after my father more then I like." They seem to shift from worried to more of a grumpy stance. They seem distracted for a moment with whatever thought of their father popped into their head then look to Ward and say "Oh, right rest... I'll try." the tiny fairy looks at the fist of Ward being offered and punches their fist. Not quite getting the idea but seemed to understand it was a gesture of friendship. One of those signs of just being raised in a very different environment. The fairy seems to enjoy big people customs and this one in particular seemed to delight them. They are also obviously forcing themselves to seem happy and positive as they say "I'll take a watch too. Let me see if I can get some rest first. I'll be bright as sunlight on a dewdrop in no time!"
The carts lumber along, with the Dawn Guard in tow, with animals stowed, with the uninjured on watch. The day ages to evening, with the cloud cover overhead turning a burned orange from the two suns they blanket, and then the evening becomes night...
And a few miles away in the forest something screams; an alien roar, something none of them are familiar with, a sound that is horrifying and unsettling but universally a sound of frustration and pain.
“Figures. Those injured, how badly do you need healing.” Ward says, not yet turning towards the group as he focused his hearing, listening to see if he can understand any animals speaking.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Johnathan is suddenly awoken by a loud scream. He rushes out of the cart, looking for the source of the scream. What the hell just happened? He looks to see the other getting healed up, with Kerwyn having a nasty scar on his chest. Oh shit, we’re still pretty beat up. Johnathan mostly kept his distance from Delphinium during the rest. He couldn’t manage to look the fairy in the eye. If it wasn’t for them needing him/her on their mission the fairy may have kept their family save. It also brought up a lot of feelings. Hyrule Castle wasn’t far from Johnathan’s home. The idea that the darkness will get them too!
I don’t know what that thing is? It doesn’t sound like the monster we recently fought. He pauses and looks at his allies. I know a lot of us are still swore from our encounter but if we’re up for it we should see what’s going on. Maybe it’s the monster crying out in pain, or maybe we have more in this forest than we thought. What do you think?
Rest was hard for the tiny one. Delphinium laid down and managed to rest a little but it was with a lot of tossing and turning. Although this gave their body time to rest and their natural fairy vitality time to heal their wounds Delphinium was quickly getting the sense they were not going to be able to get a proper rest. Thoughts of family in danger, trees dying and a most haunting image of a spring with nothing growing keep popping into their mind. Falling asleep seemed impossible to the fairy but at least they can lay down and try to relax. They try to fall asleep on the ride listening to the steady rumble of the wheels to distract them but fears and worries seem to find a way to creep in anytime they get close. They feel its going to be very hard to fall asleep until they hear back word from their mother. It is during this time where sleep allude Delph that they hear the screech. Already restless and worried, this promised a good distraction and hopefully something new to focus on besides their own worried thoughts! Perfect!
They awaken any sleeping Dawn guard members in the cart with them by zooming around and bopping their noses with a tiny punch. They may have a soar nose but its a sure fire way to wake big people up in Delphinium's experience. "Get up! Get up! Something is out there calling for help! Lets go help it!" They zoom around and when Johnathan suggests to help the creature as well Delphinium smiles at them and says "Yes! Lets go help them! Maybe that other creature is being mean to them too! They gonna have a lot of apologizing to do! I might not share my meal with them if they keep this up." The tiny fairy listens to the screech carefully by flying out and back onto the wagon's top. After closing their eyes and focusing they feel they get a really good idea where it is. They fly back down and in the wagon, then if anyone isn't up they bop their noses again but harder this time. "It sounds like its to the south east. Maybe a mile or two. It's really loud! I bet its big and friendly! Come on! Get up, get up, get up, lets GOOOOOOOOOO!" the fairy zooms around the carriage interior circling the others inside.
“Delph, I appreciate the energy, but wait. Should it be that creature from before we need to be careful. I can scout ahead invisibly and see what is going on, but I would prefer if you all stay back until I signal you. Is that alright with everyone?” Ward asks the group.

Shavaris is in a deep sleep as they travel on the caravan, having fallen asleep quickly once getting settled. Her dreams are haunted by the invisible creature and the Deku tree. Somehow watching as the creature tearing the tree apart from the outside, tearing it limb from limb...
As the scream pierces through the air, she wakes with a start but goes rigid, trying not to disturb anyone and listen to see if she can tell where it is coming from. Out of nowhere the nutty fairy bops her in the nose!! What the duce? She watches in silence as the fairy has gone into full chaos mode, well, at least they aren't sad at the moment, that is hard to handle. She silently pulls the bag she has now deemed her Delph bag out of her pack and waits till they get closer. As they come in for another shot at her nose, she whips out the bag and snags them! She waits a minute for them to calm down, then opens the bag to peek in. "Hi buddy, sorry to have to do this, but its going to happen when you can't control yourself. We need to make a plan, not just dart off after a monster that might eat you. Now that would be the worst." Once he appears to understand, she lets him out.
When Ward offers to scout ahead, she whirls on him with a hand on her hip, "Now wait just one minute here newbie. I'm really glad you've joined our group, but if anyone is going scouting, that's me. There is plenty of forest here for me to hide within, and if its a mile or two ahead as Delph says, then maybe we should all go that direction and then I'll scout ahead when we get a little closer." she gives a little thought and addresses Ward, "you can join me if you'd like, call it a trial."
“I don’t mean to overstep, I suggested I went as my skill set is a bit Tuned to nature if you remember ?”Ward says, a small bit of ivy surrounding his feet With druidcraft. “If you can make sure you aren’t seen, I have no problem going as a pair. But please do not do anything rash, I would like to see if I can understand anything that these creatures might be saying.” Ward says, then adding. ”I’m also not a rookie my friend, far from that.” Ward says

Help the monster? Johnathan says, confused as to why the fairy thinks he would ever help such a monster. The monster was in pain, we could finish it off? Poor naive fairy. But the fairy was off again, trying to get everyone to leave as soon as possible. Johnathan cracked a smile when Shavaris pulled a bag out to calm the fairy, great. This is gonna be a thing now. It was then he noticed that Ward offered to scout ahead. Johnathan was unsure on why the robot offered to go first. Was it because it wanted to kill the monster? Well, whatever the reason was he didn’t mind. Deep down Johnathan hoped to finish the monster, he didn’t like the idea of being hunted in the woods. To many bad memories.
That’s when Shavaris had a mini meltdown. He watched as he saw Shavaris went on to defend her role as the scout of the party. He could see that this was taken a bit personally from her. Johnathan also didn’t like the idea of waiting for others to do all the work. Was he saying we should wait here as he does it himself or was he meaning he would be a little ahead? Johnathan decides to interrupt this argument. It doesn’t matter who scouts first, let’s just get moving already. We still have some distance to travel before this becomes relevant and I don’t want to lose this things trail.
The sudden darkening around Delph as Shavaris puts them in The Bag catches them off guard at first. The fairy flutters around but their wings catch on the fabric and they are forced to fall down. Delphinium goes into instant spoiled brat grump mode as they sit on the bottom of the bag legs and arms crossed with a very pouty look on their face as they look up at Shavaris as she opens the bag again. They give Shavaris a pouty face and say in a very spoiled voice "I control myself very well thank you! Didn't you see me flying in a perfect circle around you all?" They flutter out of the bag but this time just hovering in place as their rapid wings beat. They look to the group and say "Okay, lets make a plan! What do I do? Oooohhhh! I could join you in scouting? I can be sneaky! It helps I'm very tiny. I just need to control my fairy glow!" Delphinium is currently making a very good impression of a blue Christmas tree light.
As Ward stood by he ran back through the noise it had made, something about it just not sitting right. It took him a moment to realize before he held up his hand to the group. “Grab your weapons, caravan, either hide or keep your eyes open. Shavaris, Kerywn, take cover. I don’t know how much more your bodies may be able to take. That creature has healed, I didn’t recognize it at first, but know I realize what the noise was. ” Ward said before whispering an incantation causing vines and branches to expand above them in a 100 ft radius centered on the caravan. “Stay under this, it will make it harder for the creature to get to you.” Ward says as he finishes, taking a bit of the dew and rubbing it onto his hand before watching towards the direction of the screams. Watching for any movement Ward scans the forest ahead of him.

At wards words of it being the creature healed Delphinium thinks on the sound as well. They were right next to the creature when it was making its fake noises but the tiny fairy picked up on its actual voice being close enough to it then. They have to think on it but realize Ward is correct, its the same strange creature that attacked them. It sounds like its a lot healthier then when the left it last. With this insight Delph looks depressed again and says "Oh, right... nevermind. It is that same creature isn't it Ward? Oh well. I guess I'll go back to trying to sleep. Lets just keep moving on its quite far away from us. It doesn't sound like it wants to apologize. I thought something else was being attacked by it." With that the fairy seems to lose interest almost immediately as they go back to lay on the flower they bloomed in the carriage with their ability. They lay down but don't close their eyes and just poke the petals on their flower bed.
Shavaris looks at Ward and Delph wide-eyed. "Oh! so glad you two realized it before we had a repeat of what happened." as the plants and vines creep their way around their little caravan, she looks on impressed, "well, isn't this convenient. Think this will be enough to fool it? I'm doing just fine now after the couple hour rest, I'll help stand guard as well, I just hope it moves off the other way."
"Actually, let's get a move on." Shavaris heads over to chat with the waggoneers and Thri-Kreen to let them know that they were going to try and outrun the threat of that invisible creature and that their group would be on the lookout for it, and anything else that might come their way.
She returns to the group, seeing Delph sad on their flower and tries to push that out of her mind, they had a real threat here. "I feel alright, well, other than the exhaustion so there's that, Ward, I know you've been using some of your spell slots and anyone else need to replenish? Once we get away from this creature, Delph did you want to go on watch? You're really good at waking us all up" she tries to make them smile, but she figures it's probably in vane. "But that can all be discussed as we go, let's get out of here!"
The fairy looks up at Shavaris' question. They take a moment but eventually sit up put on a smile then nod and say in a chipper voice, "Yeah! I'll take watch. You can get some sleep Shavaris. I'm glad you're feeling alright. Anyway, there's a lot of cool things to see in this forest! It's almost better then what I knew about it. I'm also the super best at waking up big people! You can count on me!" Delphinium flutters up and about obviously happy to have something to do. They will take watch when asked and be super vigilant the entire time which is interrupted by talking with others folks that are awake and driving the carts. They will only bother the dawn guard if something happens. Extra hard nose bops depending how important it is.
Kerwyn still looks exhausted, he gives a really tired smile to everyone gathered around, indicating that he needs more sleep. “Just wake me up” he looks over at Delph, “or bop me on the nose if that thing comes back and you need me.” He flops down, can’t hold his eyes open. He jerks back awake one more time, says to all of them, “Just, wake me up, before you go go.” Then he flips back down asleep, dead to the world.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
