Kerwyn's attack is deadly; one Goblin is bouncing around with a knife like she's about to do something when the blade bites into her torso along the small ribs and splits her in half, sending her slipping across the tiled floor with a confetti trail of entrails grasping along behind her. Green fire splattered off of the blade and went all over *****in' Pan Flute Goblin, who began to flail and scream and panic as he ran into one of the nearby bushes.
"Oh Jesus oh God I'm on fire manI'm on f***ing fire!" The poor little guy was screaming as he ran away.
The Meanest looking Goblin, wearing an eyepatch and looking mean as hell, sneers and looks around as Travin's pan flute licks drive through his little Goblin mind. He immediately breaks out his scimitar and slices up one of his nearby buddies before turning his attention to the fleeing Pan Flute Goblin.
"Come back here you ******!" The mean Goblin shouts in his high pitched, intimidating voice, as he gives chase.
"Prepare to DIE!" One of the heavy weapon Goblins screams as Hoggle's retreat takes the Dwarf straight toward him. A mortar tube strapped to his back goes off with a might kra-koom! and the round goes over Hoggle's head, exploding ineffectively next to Delphinium. The Goblin then slips two pipe pistols into his hands, aims at Hoggle, and fires, one ball hitting Hoggle in the shoulder, the other in the hip. Hoggle screamed.
"It is okay, Sir Hoggle! I shall save thee!" Sir Didymus screamed as he kicked Ambrosius into action. He charges the Goblin firing on Hoggle and swings his maul, missing on the first swing but nailing the Goblin in the face with his second attack, sending the artillery wielding foe to his knees.
Then...the worm got involved.
And that's when things got out of hand.
"This won't do, oh no!" The worm says with a huff, then a puff, his tiny voice growing in bass and resonance as he goes from concerned to angry to very angry. "You're not going to hurt my new friends! Prepare to feelTRUE ULTIMATE POWER!"
The worm begins to raise out of his seat on Travin's back and shifts from shades of blue with his cute little tuft of hair on his furry little caterpillar head spiking and turning bright, glowing red. His eyes started to glow.
"FEEL. MY. WRATH!"
The heavens were torn asunder as the worm's voice boomed across the land, the baleful trumpets of the armies of hell breaking loose to rain vengeance down upon their enemies. Lightning crashes, sparks fly from the spaces between the air itself, everything scintillates with color as the world lights up with flying pyrotechnics and crashing explosions. Whistling fireworks spiral across the battlefield as the world roars with fury. And slowly, building throughout the horrifying lightshow, the worm's voice could be heard, deep and intimidating...
"In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of Hell and tainted beyond ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred he found no peace; and with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the Night Sentinels, and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him...Mr. Crawley."
Goblins scattered. Goblins went through hedges, pulled up tiles to drop into the caverns below; the armored Goblin that had been bashed by Didymus turned to flee, taking a blow on the back of his head as he ran as fast as his wee little Goblin legs could take him. Only the mean looking Goblin remains...remains?...as he continues to chase the Pan Flute wielding fellow with his Scimitar flashing.
Hoggle and Ambrosius share the same reaction; they hit the ground on their stomachs, covering their eyes and heads with their hands as flames shatter the air around them.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Delphinium is in shock as lightning and fire tear apart the skies even the normally unshakable fairy seems to cow a bit from the show of magic and power. They seem to be a bit stunned at first just looking in awe but a definite nervous look goes towards Mr. Crawley. The fairy gives them a bit of a wide berth, and by extension Travin as well, as they make their way towards Shavaris. They land on her shoulder as the last two goblins run off and Delph whispers to her so that only Shavaris can hear them "Umm... I think Mr Crawley is dangerous... how do we leave them behind without being blasted to bits? They make me really nervous." Delphinium doesn't say anything about Shavaris's amazing tiger paint but they are curious how long until they notice. It doesn't take long as someone the fairy has never met shows up.
Some guy on an ostrich has shown up and they seem to know some of the members of the Dawn Guard. Delphinium looks at them curiously and as they mention the paint on Shavaris' face Delphinium smiles and adds "I think she makes a very good tigeress!" Delphinium smiles and waves at the new comer saying "Hi! I'm Delphinium, or Fireflight. Whichever you like! I like both names so its fun to give a choice to others." they grin but it doesn't last long as Kerwyn suddenly yells out in anger towards Delphinium. Delph still on Sharvaris' should turns slowly to look at them and tries their hardest not to smile as they say "Hello Kerwyn! Umm... sorry. We didn't get to you in time. Hoggle seemed really indecisive and ended up not painting you at all. I think they really wanted to make sure you were painted as something you liked! Would you like me to paint you? I suggested bear before." Delphinium eyes Shavaris' bag nervously and they try to talk their way out of being bagged again by saying "Umm... Shavaris.... umm... oh! we need to get out of the storm. We don't have time to bag poor little me! Besides didn't you laugh at Ward's paint? Wasn't it good? I made sure yours was good too! So umm... lets go!" Delph attempts to fly off and follow Hoggle to the underground passages they promised before. Will they make it?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The display finishes and the worm descends back onto his seat on Travin's back. At this point Travin's laughter has stopped and the Junkman is now hopping and shrieking in loud bursts, not hiding the fact that he is terrified of this thing on him, and in his panic his arms flail upwards towards the worm in an attempt to grab the thing. His Rapier and Pan flute having since hastily clattered to the floor.
Athletics to grab the worm, 18
If Travin succeeds in grabbing the worm then he will open an odd looking bag by his waist and throw the creature inside.
As Delph settles on Shavaris's shoulder "Delph, that's just our um, friend, Mr Crawley. Just be happy he thinks we're his friends, I mean, sheesh! Who knew? Good thing you gave him a ride - he seemed to enjoy that. Seriously, you're ok."
When Ralik appears out of nowhere, Shavaris disregards everything that is going on and runs over to him, thrilled to see the familiar face she gives him a big hug. "Ralik!! You did come back! But wait, what do you mean what is on my face?" she turns to everyone else, "Is something wrong with my face?" then she lands on Ward at the same time Kerwyn starts yelling for Delph and it dawns on her. She looks to her shoulder, "Why you little....you're lucky Ralik is here, I'm in too good of mood to bag you for the moment, but you behave. And that means sticking with us, not Sir Foxface." She looks back at Kerwyn, "yeah, there isn't anything on your face but rain...what's on my face? Do I even want to know?"
As Shavaris turns to her friends to ask, she sees Travin freaking out and try to wrestle their new worm friend into what? Is that a bag? "No! Travin, don't!!" and she charges forward to stop him from doing whatever it is he is trying to do.
Johnathan was surprised to see such a large force of Goblins surround them. Damn they are sneaky. Better get ready to… before he could even finish that thought the most weird thing happened. The worm…killed…them…all. It was the most unexpected shock Johnathan has had in his entire life. This small creature managed to make it look like everyone one in the party had twigs for weapons compared to its power. The sky, which was dark and peaceful, became a dazzle of lights as fire sprayed all around there enemies. Somewhere in the back of Johnathan’s mind he feels this fear trying to take over him, making him cower from a worm. But Johnathan looks at the worm with rage more than fear. GREAT. Now the worm has made such a spectacle that every goblin will know where we are. Why are all the pets causing trouble now. Johnathan speaks to it. Was that necessary worm? Now every goblin in the labyrinth will know where we are. This was suppose to be a quite mission. He pauses a moment. Why would you keep such a secret from us, huh? Come to think of it how on earth does a worm hold this power? Who are you and what are you planning?
Johnathan tries to remember if he ever heard this story about Mr Crawley and this battle he mentioned. This seemed more than just random nonsense, perhaps it’s a clue.
History check: 15
Johnathan was still harassing the worm until he sees purple light flash in an instant. And there he was. Ralik and his mount. Johnathan turns away from the worm, missing Travis’s attempt to “tame” it. Ralik? How did you get here. I haven’t seen you in weeks. What do you mean over night? Was this time magic? What’s going on here? Well Aoe left when we approached the labyrinth, too many memories apparently. We came across the others while looking for Blix and the goblin city, which is where we are currently.
After the effect of he reflexive adaptability, the scene really start to set in on the nomad. Nothing was making sense and he had no clue where he was. He had a sinking feeling he was missing something important. He was missing time.
Ralik decides to just observe for now, but feels the tension after his sudden appearance. He props himself up against Runnin Bird with wrists resting on the hilts of his longs words and just watches in amusement as the band proceeded it’s chaos. Though he seems aloof, he was ready. If anything from the past taught him something it was to gather more information before acting.
He let them all be themselves and just shrugged any John and gave a look of sympathy to Shavaras but did not move.
“Is Brother Worm strong? Seem peaceful to me huh?”
"Why, of course it was necessary." Mr. Crawley says, his voice strained and tired. "Those Goblins wanted to kill all of us. Ooooh...so drained. But I told you or...well one of you...that I was a very powerful Warlock and Sorceror...I am not...just a worm...oooh...."
The worm began to convulse and wriggle violently, even as Travin reached up to grab him. The thrashed as Travin gripped him, and began to swell and darken from blue toward a rusty red color...
Travin's eyes, exaggeratedly large beneath his thick goggles are drowning in a manic panic.
He does not hear the protests around him as he continues screaming in his own terror, throwing a few infernal curse words in here and there.
It is apparent to the group that this creatures mind is close to gone, and if the words he said to Jareth earlier are true, then the reason for his irrationality are that the mental torture he has endured in this labyrinth has been going on for longer than a mortal creature can possibly remember.
Delphinium seems very out of sorts as they don't even want to approach the worm. They kind of flutter back and away from them instead as Travin begins to fight back against the worm of horror. Is the junk creature going to get hurt? Shouldn't Delphinium help? They seem paralyzed with indecision in mid air. As the worm begins to change Delphinium's sense of dread seems to grow. Travin grabs it and Delphinium seems to get more scared. Is the eldrich worm going to eat their hand? Will it cast down fire from the sky like it threatened before? Delphininum looks around to see how all their allies and friends are acting. Some don't seem scared at all like Delph's friend Shavaris! As Delphinium watches Shavaris begin to head towards it Delph says "Wait! Don't get near it Shavaris! Its dangerous!" but too little too late she's heading right for Travin and the death worm. Is Delphinium and Travin the only ones that sees it for the danger it is?
Not everything was clear to the Nomad, but some were. The worm was the focus of contention, and Travin seemed not in control of either themself or their emotions. He could feel the tension build as Shavaris stopped and the grip tightened around the cute worm. Thoughts raced through the young man's mind. Flashes of his failure in the goblin cave. The faces of the possible innocent. He noticed his wrists on the hilts of his sword. He thought of moving in quickly and severing the hand. At least this poor being would still live. He stopped and lifted his hands off of the hilts. There are other ways.
Ralik raises his hand to the coif covering his face and unclasps it revealing his handsome face. His piercing iridescent blue eyes meet Travin's eyes that seem to bulge under their glasses. They lock as Ralik confidently walks towards him. With a flick of his wrist he enacts a minor illusion that causes strange music to play in the back ground as he raises off the ground. While smoothly floating around the hermit crab of a being he sings
"How you turn my world You precious thing You starve and near exhaust me"
He spins in air and then softly dives back down with an outstretched hand to caress Travin's chin as he continues
"Everything I've done I've done for you I move the stars for no one"
He retreats, flying to the apex of one of the hedges and sings
"You've run so long You've run so far Your eyes can be so cruel Just as I can be so cruel Oh I do believe in you Yes I do"
Ralik floats back down to the Trash person as he continues to the outro
"Live without your sunlight Love without your heartbeat I, I can't live within you I can't live within you
I, I can't live within you."
He finishes his grand performance crouched in front of Travin, beckoning him to relieve the worm of its pressure. Gently placing his hand on the others.

Travin stops still, mesmerised by the newcomer's performance, as the song finishes there are tears running from beneath his goggles...
Then all of a sudden the scene returns to the junk creature, he sees the worm in his hand and screams, "AAAGH! AWAY!!!" In one swift motion he casts the worm directly into Ralik's face and with a cartoonist popping sound, retreats into his junk shell once more, his legs disappearing before the pile descends to the floor yet again with a clatter.
Once inside, the shrill echoing tones of his voice simply repeat in mania, "nope, no no no, nope, nope!"
The worm, blathering now its own words of warning, everything from swarms of locusts, fire from the sky, hemorrhoids, headlice, apes on PCP (whatever that is), stubbed fingers, stubbed toes, continents dividing, swarms of demons crawling out of the bowels of hell...Mr. Crawley says it all as its body bloats, shortens, distends, becomes hard and rusty and strange looking.
"Tempered by the fires of Hell, my iron will remains steadfast through the passage that preys upon the weak. For I alone am the Hell Walker, the Unchained Predator, who sought retribution in all quarters, dark and light, fire and ice, in the beginning and the end, and have hunted the slaves of Subternea with barbarous cruelty; for I passed through the divide as none but demon had before..."
The bag opened, and Mr. Crawley gazed into the maw of the bag...before the singing brought about a change. In an instant the worm was airborne, harmlessly flying by Ralik's face before falling to the ground behind him and bouncing.
The world thunders so loud that its as though the sound resonates from the band's bones...
"Mr. Aleister Crawley will not be suffered such an outrage!"
Shavaris watches the performance by the oddly returned Ralik, mesmerized herself by the dance that he performs around Travin. She had tried to stop Travin from grabbing the worm, and just as the junkperson is about to put the worm in his odd little bag, he throws it in Ralik's face! Shavaris's mouth drops open in surprise. She watches as Travin just completely disappears within all of the strange stuff that adorns him and she looks on, impressed.
How she didn't hear the worm's chanting until now, she isn't sure, maybe it was Ralik's dance? Or just the fact she wanted to free the creature that had dispersed the myriad of goblins? But she notices it now. Part of her can feel the terror that the others in her group do, but she knows it was not here to harm them. As the poor creature bounces on the ground and the thunder reverberates through her bones, she ignores that feeling. She leans down, scoops up Mr. Crawley, "I'm sorry, you have not only scared away the goblins, you have scared our friends as well. They know not what they do." And if the worm allows her, she takes it over to the wall and holds her hands near it, seeing if he wants to go back to the wall. "I shall take you somewhere else if you'd rather?" She awaits his answer.
The worm continues to jibber...but its mouth stops moving as it speaks directly into their brains...

-The White Crow-
"Why, of course it was necessary." Mr.
"Oh by the Goddesses...it's happening..."

His hand closes around the worm...
"How you turn my world
You precious thing
You starve and near exhaust me"
He spins in air and then softly dives back down with an outstretched hand to caress Travin's chin as he continues
"Everything I've done
I've done for you
I move the stars for no one"
He retreats, flying to the apex of one of the hedges and sings
"You've run so long
You've run so far
Your eyes can be so cruel
Just as I can be so cruel
Oh I do believe in you
Yes I do"
Ralik floats back down to the Trash person as he continues to the outro
Love without your heartbeat
I, I can't live within you
I can't live within you

-The White Crow-
Travin stops still, mesmerised by the newcomer's performance, as the song finishes there are tears running from beneath his goggles...
DM of AURYN: The Measure of Devotion - Escape from New York
