Seeing the battle still going on two fronts, Elandra switches her focus onto the creature next to Soloth, hoping that they can finally finish it and Jade can keep from getting hit by the other beast. "Play dead!" She shouts at the bulette by Soloth.
Action: Vicious Mockery @ Bulette #2, DC15 WIS, save negates5 psychic damage & disadvantage on next attack. Bonus: None Movement: As needed to be in 60ft range of both Reaction: Cutting words - if bulette #1 looks likely to hit Jade (die roll of 16-21)
Koric is amazed that both creatures remain standing. Once more he then instructs Balthar to assist him in attacking whichever one looks weakest. If he can't tell, her continues targeting B2.
@All (No need to make a save as even 4 damage will kill bulette #2)
Between Lux's flames and Jade's vicious swings of her blood spear, both bulettes fall to the ground dead. We are now out of initiative order. Jade, roll for your temp hit points from the blood spear.
@Jade and Liri
Refocusing on the trail (earlier survival checks), you attune back into the path you were following to get around the gnolls. Liri, you see that up ahead the path continues down and to the right, and while you get the sense that won't get you back on the main trail, you can't quite tell where to go at the moment. Jade, on the other hand, despite the blow you've taken, you still remain quite in tune with the earth around you, deducing that you could lead the group back to the main trail in about 2 hours, and that there are about 4 hours until it will be too dark and you will need to camp for the night. You also get the sense that camping away from the main trail, while certainly an option, may not be as safe.
What do you all do now that the bulettes are defeated? Jade, what do you do with this information in terms of what your party should do with the next 4 hours?
Lux comes over and pats Soloth on the back. "We are together on our quest. I have your back and will fight along side you, as everyone will for the other. Are you hurt and need of healing?" Saying to the whole group "Is anyone in need of healing?"

Jade looks up at the sky and then back to the group, "Nice job there, seems to me that we'll fight well together. Looks like we have about 4 hours till we need to make camp for the night."She points the direction towards the main trail, "It would take about two hours in that direction to hit the main trail, though I am not sure that is the safest course of action. Maybe we continue in the direction of the main path till we need to camp? I do not think we should camp out in the open."
You try to patch yourself up a bit, but you are ultimately unsuccessful. Looking over the landscape, you try to find some path you could go down besides the obvious ones, but it's not particularly easy. To the north is the direction you know can lead you back to the main trail in about 2 hours, where you might be safer at night, and the trodden "trail" you've been following still extends down to the right. You've got no idea where it goes, but you could certainly try to follow it if you want. Still, you could try and locate a way north that wouldn't go back to the main trail if you wanted to keep moving alongside the trail instead of rejoining it, risking camping for the night away from the trail (make a new survival check if you want to).
"Sorry, I was a little turned around. It is 4 hours till we should camp, but lets go this direction to the main path, It'll take 2 hours, but I feel it will be safer than off of it."
Elandra looks around at the scene, the battle had gone long but there were relatively few scrapes from it. Against two huge creatures like these that was certainly a stroke of luck. She silently thanks Tymora and checks on the rest of the group. "An unexpected trial, glad to see we came through it so well. Great work everyone, really impressive."
Listening to Jade's suggestion about camping she chimes in, "Do you think that will get us past the gnolls? I'd like to think the detour has done us at least some good. Koric, I don't suppose Balthar can give us some idea of where we will emerge?"

Koric nods, "We really only planned to avoid the gnolls." Surveying the carnage around them he grunts, "A lot of good that did us."
"At this point we should be well past them, so I'll look for a way back to the path." He glances around the group to make sure all are in agreement, then crouches down as he links senses with Balthar again, sending him aloft briefly to get the lay of the land.
(( OK that truly sucks...I didn't even edit that post and got manipulated dice rolls! The ORIGINAL roll was 16 ; Happy to reroll or MAYBE use a a portent roll ))
Balthar doesn't see much ahead, and looking back behind the group, can only make out the faintest shadow of the hill where the gnolls were. You've clearly passed them at this point, the danger of running into them far behind you. He can also make out a general route for getting back to the main path, although Jade should also be able to lead the group back without any issue
After a moment he stands up, nodding slowly. "Looks like we are past them." He goes on to describe what he has seen, giving as much detail as possible to Jade in the hopes it might help them get us back to the path.
“Alright, let’s get moving so we can cover as much ground before nightfall as possible.” And Jade leads them out of the area and towards the main path.

@All
You begin walking, heading towards the main trail. Jade, you lead the group as the rest of the party falls into line behind you. Balthar flies overhead, keeping watch as you move along. The first two hours of your journey are relatively uneventful, and as you walk along between the mountaintops, you can begin to see the main trail again not too far ahead. Luckily, you've made it here before it really got all that dark, and the trail is instantly easy for you all to spot. You cross between a few final hills, heading towards the trail in the distance
