Going to say to keep things moving that you all descend to that lower ledge. For simplicity's sake I won't require any rolls to do so. What do you all do from here? Would love to see some more involvement from those in group that haven't responded recently
Elandra lands lightly on the first of the ledges, waiting for everyone to safely gather. "At this point we either need a plan of approach, or we strike forwards and deal with whatever might appear. If Balthar can scout for us that is a start, with what we've seen so far though I am sceptical that we'll find much information that affects any decision. If we can't detect any magic as we approach, then let's just move forwards."
Here;s an image of it. The group is now standing on the grey ledge on the bottom half of the map. The actual waterfall is right off the left side of the map, and the ledge wraps around the source point of the water, about 30 feet above it
Jade leads the group down to the lower ledge and gathers with the rest. "I am all for a plan, but feel that if we can find that portal, we must destroy it. Would it be further to the East? (Right) where the water comes from? I'm a little confused as to how this is all laid out, just feel a bit weak at the moment. Hopefully Balthar can answer some questions for us."
(Apologies for my absence lately, have been dealing with a bunch of family illnesses and deadlines (everyone is all fine now))
"I think there might be two portals, if I understand the Lady correctly. This one here, and perhaps a wind one elsewhere? We should try to deal with whatever this one is just now in any case."
She edges over towards the waterfall to try and get a better look, walking carefully so as not to slip on any rocks wet from the spray.
The water source is at the narrowest point of the body of water, and it is rushing at high speeds over the waterfall in the west. What exactly is causing the current or where are the water keeps coming from is unclear
You stare deeply into the narrowest point of the water, and as you gaze into it for what feels like hours, the water seems to stop moving in your peripheral vision. Clearly, you must have been imagining it rushing with such ferocity in the first place
@All (giving you all this peice of info so we can keep moving)
As you all stare at the water, you notice that there seems to be some sort of metal figure below the water. A statue perhaps? It's mounted on top of something, but you can't exactly make out what
Elandra shakes her head, waking hwrself from the light stupor that the water seems to induce in them. She seems to peer through the water and sees the outline of a figure below the surface. "I can't make out what it is exactly... Liri, how long did that magic last for again? We might get a better look down there."
Elandra muses a little further, continuing her train of thought. "With the current being that strong, maybe we could use a rope and anchor one or two of us so we don't get swept away. I certainly don't like the idea of going off the edge. Unless Liri can assume the form of something aquatic, rather than her customary wolf form?" Waiting a moment, she drops her pack to the ground and unties the rope that is tied to the outside of it, laying her hat carefully on top of the pack taking a moment to straighten the plume afterwards "I don't mind getting wet again to take a look. Whether you can hold this, or tie it off to someone or something that isn't going anywhere?"
Elandra looks for a suitable point to tie her Rope, Hempen (50 feet) to, then she takes out her dagger which customarily lives in her boot and secures it at her belt before tying the other end of the rope tightly around her waist. "There, at least I'll be able to cut the rope if something goes wrong. Of course, nothing has gone drastically wrong on this little adventure so far." Her words come in a tone heavily laden with both sarcasm and mirthful glee, as she giggles impishly.
Liri nods in response to Elandra's question. "I can take other forms. A crocodile, perhaps, may give me enough swimming strength to fight that current. A rope may still be a good idea though."
As Elandra begins to tie the rope around herself, Liri watches with some concern. "Shall I go instead, as the crocodile? Or, at least, can I accompany you?"

((@DM: What can be seen on the first ledge, the one withing 30'? ))
@Koric
There doesn’t appear to be much in on that ledge at all besides a few small rocks
Koric looks down cautiously. "We could descend to the first ledge, then I might be able to send Balthar behind the water wall directly."

@DM: I just want o check my mental picture is right: is the second ledge inside the waterfall? Outside, and the water falls through it? ))

(( Assuming I understand correctly, the water source is in the east? And it's just a big pool that flows over the edge in the west? ))
Koric walks cautiously nearer to the source of the water, looking for any sign of what caused the metallic clank when the arrow was loosed.
The water source is at the narrowest point of the body of water, and it is rushing at high speeds over the waterfall in the west. What exactly is causing the current or where are the water keeps coming from is unclear
As Jade gets to the narrowest point of the body of water, she starts looking around to see if she can figure out where the water is coming from.
Investigation 12
(ha ha she should stop investigating and leave that to the rest of ya!)

(( Good point re spell ... I don't recall how long it's been ))
Good call! It’s still the same day so water breathing is still active! Do keep in mind though that the water is rushing quite violently
