Rel looks in wonder at the Sending Stones offered by the dwarves. She imagines how wondrous it would be to communicate from one part of the surface, or the Underdark, to another, back and forth.
Listening to Khessa's plan, she has no objections. She simply adds: "Once we engage, attacking at range and staying out of melee does indeed seem wise. Just be aware that as unintelligent as these oozes are in our way of thinking, they would not survive if they were not extraordinarily good at hiding, blending in, and at sensing actual living things rather than simulated ones. Our Perception will likely be tested. And we should stay within line of sight of each other so the jellies cannot isolate one of us."
Still, Rel is eager to get started, hefting her quarterstaff. Even though as Khessa suggested, she realizes with a small sinking feeling in her belly that she will use something else to attack in battle. Something darker.
Echo is getting a little bamboozled by the strategy talk and appears to nod thoughtfully, “Sounds like… a good idea! I can do the hand trick, and I can see pretty far in the dark too.” She summons a mage hand and is ready to carry out what Khessa suggested. The hand opens and closes in anticipation, “we ready?” The initial caution is fading a little and she’s peering into the corridor curiously, wanting to see the jelly monster.
Jasper hearing that no close contact with the jellies is advisable, he slings his spear to his back and prepares himself for distance. “I’m ready when you all are.” Jasper walks to just outside the entrance and piers in.

Khessa casts Light as planned, on 10' of her own rope (she cuts it; the object need to be no larger than 10' in any dimension).
"Ready!" she confirms, handing the rope to Echo's magica hand "Let's stay in group, behind the hand. As soon as we see jellies, fire and retreat".
As the hand starts draggin the rope inside, ideally some steps ahead of the party, the blonde arcane warrior joins her companions inside, also looking for the jellies

Rel brings up the rear, aware that oozes often avoid notice and instinctually trap their pray. She attempts to rear-scout to make sure nothing is sneaking up on the party from behind. Using her darkvision as needed to peer around.
As the companions travel into the ruined temple, they pass through a dusty foyer littered with rubble before the passageway opens up into a large hall with high ceilings. A bloodstained limestone altar stands at the far end of the room. There are ornate pillars to either side of the room, carved in an obviously dwarven style. On the south wall to her right-hand side, Khessa notices one of the aforementioned jellies clinging to the wall. It's quite large, sickly yellow, and undulating slightly. It doesn't appear to have any sort of head or face, but still it seems to turn in the direction of the entrance, toward the light from the rope suspended by Echo's Mage Hand. The jelly starts undulating faster, as if in a frenzy as it senses intruders into its lair.
Jasper is the first to look up at the ceiling and when he does he notices another yellow ooze clinging stealthily to the ceiling directly above the bloody altar. Jasper also notices as he passes through the foyer that the stone walls on either side don't seem entirely regular. In fact there seem to be seams in the walls on either side of the foyer.
Slowly walking through the foyer, Jasper glances at the walls briefly but his attention shifts to the far upper wall at the ceiling above an alter. Seeing a jelly clinging to the ceiling Jasper quietly warns the others. “Be careful…there is one at the end of the room on the ceiling.”
Jasper quickly pulls a vial of holy water from his belt sprinkling a few drops in Falver, Khessa and Echo direction. Reciting the word, “Benedico”

Rel is likely too far back in the foyer to see the one that Jasper points to on the ceiling, though she does now understand that there are at least two.
She signals for the dwarves to back up a bit to allow Khessa's tactic of attacking at range and retreating to work, herself stepping back (west) 5', and a bit more if the Norbus and Dazlyn give her room to do so.
Rel's irises flash as black as her earrings for a moment as she murmurs a strange word, casting Hex on the ooze on the far wall (bonus action, range 90', target OJ1), maintaining concentration. (Extra 1d6 damage on all attacks on target, OJ1 also has disadvantage on STR checks).
She raises her right hand and a jet black beam of energy shoots towards the jelly on the far wall. (Casting Eldritch Blast at OJ1.)
Attack: 15 Damage: 1 force damage on a hit plus 3 necrotic damage from Hex.
Khessa utters some arcane words and, with a fluid gesture, sends a mote of fire at the same gelatinous monster targeted by Rel, advising: "Let's focus on that one, for now, and take it down! And let's continually retreat during the fight, keep our distance from them!"
Attack: 16 Damage: 5
Whether the magical attack strikes or not, the blonde arcane warrior retreats 30' back, urging the dwarves to do the same, unless they're moving on their own: "Back, make room! This is a battle to be won with mobility"
The ochre jelly on the southern wall writhes in pain as it is struck by Rel and Khessa's magic. The force of Rel's Eldritch Blast squashes the creature almost like a pancake but before it can recover it is engulfed in flames from Khessa's Fire Bolt. It has no mouth with which to scream though, and the flames are soon smothered by the monster's own ooze. It falls to the ground and begins to undulate slowly toward Khessa and Rel, but it moves very slowly.
At the sound of the commotion, the other ochre jelly flops down from the ceiling with a wet, sucking sound like a suction cup being removed. It lands on the floor no worse for wear and also begins making its slow way toward the party. As Khessa retreats, Dazlyn and Norbus scramble to get out of her way, backing further into the courtyard.
"Uhhhhhhh-" Echo makes an uncertain noise upon actually seeing the jelly monsters, then steels herself and raises a hand. She focuses, her hand straining as if grasping for something. The shadows in her vicinity rises, roils and rushes to the jelly nearest to them.
Echo casts ray of sickness. Attack: 23 + Bless: 2 Damage: 8. (If the spell hits, the jelly needs to make a DC 13 constitution save or be poisoned till the end of Echo's next turn.)
She then moves back as far as possible like Khessa had suggested.
Maintaining her concentration on Hex, Rel extends her hand, her irises briefly flickering to black to match her pupils again before returning to their familiar grey. Another jet black beam of force seems to shoot from her earrings, through her fingertips at the wounded ooze.
Attack: 24 Damage: 4 force damage plus 1 necrotic damage on a hit.
As she does so, she utters a word. Softly, gently, almost imperceptibly. Like the thrumming quork of an immense raven in the far distance. Her irises flash to black once more and this time they stay that way, pit-like discs of unbroken shadow. A dull black filament, almost too ephemeral to see, forms, extending through the air. Connecting from Rels eyes to the other ooze. The unhurt one. As if trying to suck the strange life force from the blob.
Bonus Action: Hexblade's Curse on the other (unhurt) jelly.
Rel casually retreats another 30' when done, black eyes unblinking.

'So far, so good...' thinks Khessa. The two gelatinous monsters are even slower than she had expected. And they seem effectively unable to strike from distance. Taking them down should only be a matter of time.
If the tall arcane warrior can see the badly damaged jelly, she shots it from where she is; else, she comes back inside a few steps, shots, then she comes back to her position.
As before, the 'shot' is a mote of fire that comes forth from the fingers of the warrior-mage at the end of an elegant hand gesture accompanied by arcane syllables.
The combined force of Rel's, Jasper's, and Khessa's magic is enough to cause the first ochre jelly to quiver and then dissolve before your very eyes, leaving an oily, wet spot on the flagstones inside the temple. The second ochre jelly squishes forward as fast as it can, doubling the distance it moved before. It ignores the wet patch where it's ally used to be.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Echo runs, she turns back just in time to see one of the jelly melt into a puddle, she exclaims: "Nice!! Now only one is left..!" She reaches in the remaining jelly's direction and a ghostly manifestation of her hand appears behind it, clawing down in a mirrored motion. (She casts chill touch
Attack: 8 Damage: 6
(ooc: editted because "dice rolls are not yet available" ??)
The second ochre jelly oozes forward as fast as it can, stopping just short of Jasper. It quivers as it is struck by frost magic and one of Falver's arrows.
