Echo takes the journal and lays it down on one of the beds so everyone can see. She leans over it to read: "'Ah-bah-thor...' Hey, it's the evil god the dwarves just talked about! 'Why did you...' desert? Oh, I think it's like 'give up', this god gave up on the people that were here. 'He comes for us,' I mean, whoever wrote this meant the god comes for them, not us us. 'No time...' Ah, and it says they gave the god offerings, but the god wasn't happy with it. Not even his... something- can be a shield? To stop the god. Because he's angry at the people. 'My brothers have fallen', could be literally, you know, or..." she makes a knife with a hand and slices it across her throat, faking a choking noise, "but even so, these dead guys are cursed to be hungry and to want-- I don't know what they want, it doesn't say-- for forever. And then some really depressing stuff about how their existence is so sad and there is no hope and... 'forgive us'."
Echo exhales as she finishes reading, "man, it's short but it's a real downer. I had no idea something like this happened. You guys think these guys still exist here?"
Rel listens to Echo's account, trying to make sense of it. Truly, I have had my fill of cruel gods and those who choose to worship them.
"I do not see any sign of their remains, Echo Thornhill. Other than inanimate objects left behind such as this journal you were able to read. No bones..." She trails off. A hungry and sad existence... "I hope they were not raised as undead. Or as something else."
She looks at how old the journal appears to be, considering its delicate pages.
"Thank you Echo!" smiles brightly Khessa, patting her friend on the shoulder "So the priests fell of grace... and failed to placate their evil god! Well" she purses her lips in disgust "this will teach them to choose such a deity! I wonder what brings someone to worship such evil entities... like this one... or like Lolth! Cursed to be hungry..." reflects the blonde arcane warrior "they might as well have been turned into the jellies we have just met! Anyway, if I'm wrong and they are still around in another form, guess we will meet them".
And with that, she begins searching the walls for pattern like the ones of the last secret passages found.
You find another secret door that leads into some sort of vestry. An empty stone font juts out of the southwest wall. A stone wardrobe stands against the east wall. On the south wall is a regular doorway, the wooden door rotted and fallen off its hinges.
Khessa is immediately intrigued by the stone wardrobe; while keeping an eye on the wooden door rotted and fallen off its hinges (to notice if someone or, worse, something comes out), she approaches the wardrobe and, holding her greatsword in the right, opens the wardrobe with the left to see what's inside.
The tall arcane warrior murmurs: "I'm really curious to see how they dressed, these greed priests..."
Rel looks thoughtful at the warrior's hypothesis. "Khessa Cabbagefield, I think you may be right. What would be a more hungry, wretched existence than being turned into an ooze, by one's own god no less. It doesn't change what we have to do however, keep looking for new passageways until we clear out the temple for our two dwarven friends?"
Echo nods, she shuts the journal carefully, scared of breaking it's pages and places it her satchel. "Turned into oozes... damn, that really is sad. I hope those oozes out there are at least off to a better place now." She moves the mage hand so that the lighted rope now floats above their heads, illuminating the entire room so everyone can see better.
Inside the wardrobe you find two sets of red leather armor that seem to be in relatively decent shape considering their age. Graven into the chest piece of each set of armor is the stylized image of an ornate dagger decked out in jewels.
"Nice armors..." comments Khessa "and there are two of them. The jellies also were two... the hypothesis of jellyfication becomes more and more plausible. If someone is comfortable with one of these armor, let them try it on... if not, in going back it is better that we bring them back to Phandalin and try to sell them".
Struck by the fact that her friend is worried about the fate of the Abbathor Priests, the blonde warrior-mage turns her blue eyes to Echo: "You really are a sensitive soul, to have these thoughts, my dear. If those cultists worshiped an evil god of greed, they probably wouldn't have thought twice about slitting your throat to steal your belongings. I can't tell you if they 'are at least off to a better place now'... but probably the world is 'a better place' now, without them".
The tall arcane warrior now approaches the wooden door rotted and fallen off its hinges: "Keep looking for new passageways until we clear out the temple for our two dwarven friends seems like a good plan, Rel Serafin. Let's check what we have here".
She opens or clears the passage, to allow easier access to everyone, and leads the way exploring it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rel doesn't feel good about wearing the armor of these unsavory cultists. But since she hasn't been able to afford armor of her own, she dons one of the suits of leather, hoping to exchange it for something better in the future. (If that's all right with Khessa and the others.)
She continues exploring with the group, looking for further unexplored passageways or secret doors.
Jasper looks to Khessa, “Those are nice armor but probably would benefit us better if we sell them.” Also agrees with Rel, “If you could use the armor, definitely take a set.”
”If we ever come across a bow and some arrows, I could absolutely use them.”

“I don’t need armour, but I think they’ll fetch us some coins!” Echo says, feeling safe enough, surrounded by shadows.
In response to Khessa, “well, they already got what they deserved, I suppose. And plus! We don’t know who’s beating up who!” She waves her fist around comically. She makes sure to secure the journal, firmly believing it will be useful later, and follows after. Her mage hand catches up and drags the rope down the corridor.
Khessa smiles, as she replies to both Echo and Jasper: "Considering that the armors may have been there for who knows how long, I was less optimistic than the both of you, about what they are worth... but certainly the ones that won't be of use to anyone of us, we will try to sell them! We will take them with us coming back from the corridor".
As you exit the room with the wardrobes, you see another room directly south of you. It looks to be partially collapsed. Off to your left, to the east, the passageway has collapsed and is full of rubble. However, as you look, you see a strange greenish glow just peeking through the bits of rubble. The rubble here is extensive. It will take many hours to dig through.
This is what you make out of the last page of the journal:
