Now that action is about to replace the waiting, Khessa feels more confident. Hearing the trapped orc trashing, she even manages a smile, while she takes the lighted pebble out of her pocket and throws it in the middle of the corridor to illuminate the invaders.
'Jasper!' she thinks 'Good idea with the trap! You really are good at making... bonds!'
Now that she can see well the situation, the blonde arcane warrior places herself just outside the room, in the middle of the available space, to fully block access to the enemies. She wants to prevent them to reach her companions in the room, so that her fellow party members will be able to blast the orcs freely from safe distance. And she also hopes that no more than one or two orc at a time will be able to come at her.
"Since you don't have much fear of the deads... Let's see if you can learn to fear the living instead!" the tall warrior-mage says, then she quickly gestures, speaking arcane words, and sends a mote of fire at the orc leader.
Finally, she readies her greatsword to welcome those that will dare to come in melee range.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The firebolt just misses the orc leader, singing his eyebrows a bit as it soars right past him. He shouts threateningly at Khessa in the orcish language.
One of the other orcs take this moment to move toward Khessa and attempt to attack her with his greataxe.
Rel's expression goes dead flat when she sees the orcs. Her fists clench and teeth set as she advances to just within 30' of the Orc Leader (1). Her eyes focus on the Orc Leader (1) and blacken utterly. Not just the irises, but both eye sockets in their entirety become gaping, inky wounds, holes to Shadowfell. Darker somehow, than her own skin, drinking the light. A tendril of dull black extends, thumb-thick this time, from her earrings and fingertips, attaching to the orc leader's face as she places Hexblade's Curse on the Orc Leader (1) as her bonus action.
She mutters something unintelligible in Elvish, but it doesn't sound like her voice, but rather the guttural quork of some huge bird. One that feeds on both live prey and carrion. She casts Sleep on a point beyond the orcs so that the 20' radius (40' diameter) does not include Khessa or Jasper (though Rel knows elves can't be put to sleep by magic anyway), but does include all three orcs (targeting Orc 2 if possible).
Hit points worth of creatures put to sleep: 30 (rolled in campaign log).

"Kill the ones still awake first, then the sleeping ones," comes the deep guttural voice from Rel Serafin's mouth. "My mistress hungers."
Echo scrambles out from behind the stone beds, tripping over herself a little in the process. She dashes to the T-shaped corridor, skidding to a halt and just managing to catch Rel's casting. She swallows at Rel's words and the sight of multiple orcs coming toward them.
(ooc: she just uses her action and movement to dash to the spot beside Rel)

Khessa shivers at the unexpected guttural sound of her half-drow friend's voice. The blonde arcane warrior, without losing her focus on the orc invaders, finds the time to reply: "If you want to take revenge for what these brutes have done to you, your gnome friend and who knows how many others, you have all my help, Rel Serafin, but always remember that the control of yourself belongs ONLY TO YOU. And that if we catch one of them alive, we may question him and maybe find out where Roywyn is. This 'mistress' of yours, if she is so 'hungry', can always ask with good manners one of Echo's sugar coated breads - and I'm pretty sure she'd be happy to oblige! So, if you still want to kill them all, I'm with you - but better you be sure that this is YOUR choice, not someone other's"
The fourth orc successfully frees himself from the trap and moves toward his companions. Here is a link to the map again. I'll keep it up so it stays open.
