This was the moment of the show Bob had been waiting for, a chance to actively participate. His feathered hand shoots up into the air without much thought as to his act. "OH BOY! Me, me, me," he squeals excitedly. Any that had seen Bob's previous 'performances' knew that, though they may be quite sweet, they left a lot to be desired and were, frankly, not very good.
Bob eagerly looks around his fellow spectators within the Big Top. He always liked to make his 'acts' more inclusive, if at all possible.
Beaming, Mister Light gives no recognition of Bob as he welcomes him to the center ring (perhaps intentionally, or perhaps because they've never actually met.) Bob looks back to see if anyone might be joining him. (Does anyone want to join Bob's act? Mr. Light has made an open call for guest performances. Bob will make a Charisma (Performance) check for his act; or if anyone wishes to join Bob, you can make it a group check instead. Or, you can also go after Bob with your own performance, if you have one.)
The Hall of Illusions:
Meanwhile, Rubin's girlfriend leads the dazed young man out of the tent. ("Who was that? What are you doing?") The mirror has returned to its normal, solid state, albeit bearing the reflections of an older/middle-aged Edgardo and a pretty accurately aged Cad. The reflection of the pig-faced girl is gone.
Looking over to Alyeira and Matilda, Ben says, “Surely you must have some hidden talent for performance. Alyeira, don’t you have a musical instrument of some kind?”
Ben considers if he could perform any feats of strength that might prove amusing to the crowd, especially if he could convince Matilda to participate.
OOC: Perhaps a Charisma-based Athletics check?

“Yes… I do play the flute. I suppose it wouldn’t hurt to join in on the fun.”
Alyeira takes a few moments to contemplate the offer, eyeing the cheering audience. She is fully aware that Mister Light expects her to participate - an off duty performer would certainly make a spectacle, should she so choose. Normally the Eladrin would not hesitate to volunteer. There was nothing she loved more than the cheering of the crowd as she danced to her own music. Lately however, she was feeling rebellious. She no longer enjoyed performing as she once had - there always seemed to be something… missing. The idea of dancing purely for someone else’s entertainment made her feel irritated, even if that someone happened to run the carnival.
In the end it was Bob’s enthusiasm that won her over, his obvious excitement sparking a flicker of her own passion. It would be fun to help the other hand with one of his acts, even if they weren’t the best of the show. She stands up, joining the animated Kenku in the centre ring. “Let's put on a show!”
(Bob - and Ben? - still needs to describe their act, but he and Alyeira - and Benjamin if he is inclined - should make a check based on their performance ability when they are ready.)
"OH BOY!"Bob beams, pleased that Alyeira agreed to join the show. "Well, I was thinking I could put on a light show," he says, his voice young and child-like. "Perhaps that might be a fitting accompaniment to your playing?"
"I 'ave th' ability t' ligh' up people 'n' objects, make 'em glow all sortsa colours an' th' like,"he says proudly. "Fear not, for it shall not hurt, just look... well... pretty."
((Mechanically, this would be by casting faerie fire on the 'stage' area - lighting up performers and objects alike. I think I was looking for it to possibly count more as a help action for anyone attempting the check... As Bob is not particularly gifted at performing.))

As I lift it higher, your feet come off the ground because I am taller and now it looks like you are hanging from the platform too! You’d have to use that pixie dust to make it work, though…” brainstorms Ben on the spur of the moment.

Ben and Matilda (levitating) lift up the platform – lit up with Bob's Faerie Fire - as Alyeira plays the flute atop it. It's a bit of a haphazard affair as Ben's lifting is a little awkward and wobbly, but Alyeira's flute performance is nearly flawless, and Matilda plays her act with graceful flair.
The audience eats it up. (DC14 Group Performance Checks: 10, 19, 18 – passed!)
"Well done! Well done!" grins Mr. Light, clearly genuinely amused.
You are escorted back to your seats. A clamshell bathing pool is rolled out by a group of goblin jugglers, and the next act begins as a mermaid starts to serenade the audience from within.
Hall of Illusions:
Meanwhile, Cad, Horatio, and Edgardo look at each other from amongst the partially-dismantled mirrors, as Rubin and his girlfriend exit the tent.
Blinking in disbelief at the mirror, Horatio knocks on the glass to make sure it is real.
"Is the mirror... magic?" He asks himself. From his bag he pulls his small wooden mallet and a razor sharp steel chisel. "Come out, come out, wherever you are!"
With a look of sheer determination he centers the chisel, averts his eyes, then gives a solid swing of the mallet.
The bugbear wearing dungarees and fairy wings who performed earlier now approaches. Under his arm, he carries a helmet made from a jack-o’-lantern. He taps Matilda and Alyeira on their shoulders. “Follow me at the end of the show,” he growls quietly. “Management wants to see you.”

Hall of Illusions:
Horatio examines the mirror Rubin had just held his arm through. It seems quite solid now. There is no sign of the pig-faced girl whose image he glanced very briefly in the mirror, talking to the young man. It's now just shadows and dust motes and an aged Edgardo peering forward in the background.
Taking a whack at it with his mallet and chisel, Horatio finds it extremely tough. The chisel leaves not a scratch.
In shock, Edgardo races over to Horatio. "What are you doing?" He shrieks as he covers the group d between Horatio and himself in a single bounce. Remembering where they are be the openness of the Hall he lowers his voice. "If these...creatures....people, whatever, stole things from us years ago for not paying an entrance fee what do you think they'll do if you break a mirror? Nevermind how many years bad luck you'd get from such a big mirror. 8, 9 maybe 10 years!" It's then he catches his own reflection. "Whoa!" He startles at the old hare looking back at him. Once his nerves settle he approaches the mirror and places a paw on the reflective pane. "What the ..."
Cad is so distracted by watching the young couple walk out -- I hope he accepts her explanation. I'm sure she'll find a way to persuade him. -- that he doesn't see Horatio pull out his tools. He hears Edgardo's panicked cry and turns just in time to see the chisel skip off the surface of the mirror. His face goes pale as he attempts to grab the tools from Horatio. "Edgardo's right! Are you mad?! These mirrors are magic -- if you survive the breaking you'll be working for the Carnival for the rest of your life to pay for it!" He tries to hustle Horatio toward the exit, while also trying to take in what he can of the illusions around them.
The show goes on. For the next act, a troupe of acrobats, clowns, and fire-breathers parade about, while eight pixies race eight chariots each pulled by a pair of weasels, all punctuated by Mr. Light's dramatic banter from his perch above. The dungareed bugbear stands at a distance near the entrance, but keeps an eye specifically on the party.
The Hall of Illusion:
Meanwhile, Cad and Edgardo grapple Horatio for his tools and try to rush him out of the tent before anyone sees them. Horatio wasn't able to damage the mirror, but three of them are face down on the ground after being disconnected and lowered.
