Ok, so Zeminny goes on a side quest (we can handle that separately so this show can go on).
The rest of you follows their way back to Greenest. Nothing really catches your attention. Well.. Eric, you notice a soft howling, very far away. Eventually you reach the point where you know the rearguard would roughly be. There's no fire or other lights.
Eric tries to find out if there are any other signs of recent passage nearby, since his eyes are accustomed to search into the dark passages under the hills that his folks have dug over the ages. "There, wolfs!" he whispers, indicating to the others the direction from which the howl came from...
"There be wolves?" Zale whispers back, "I don't hear anything. They must be far off. Let's keep moving, something doesn't seem right. Why are there no lights?"
"dunno, but you're right, that's odd, we should move carefully" Eric starts following Zale's step westward (I'm assuming we are moving westward)
That's indeed the route you know and took the first time. You can also go straight through the rearguard site (quicker) or go round it on the east side (slower).
Very well, you take the long route along the east side. As the darkness of the night gives way to the twilight of dawn, I need you to make new Perception checks (no disadvantage bc the sun is rising).
Kriv will also head to Greenest.
Perception: 4
((Just waiting to see what Zeminny does before I tell you want will happen with those rolls))

Oh, I forgot. Those without darkvision make the checks with disadvantage.

(It can’t get much worse.) 17

Zale is heading towards Greenest while keeping an eye out for any Kobolds.
Perception: 7 (man Zale's perception is really cursed! lol the other roll was a 9!)

((Well, that made me laugh out loud! And now I have to explain it to my wife, thanks...))
Anyway, the howling comes from the west.

I would consider going slower by going around, something may have happened...
"Agreed," Zale says as she makes her way around the east side.
Kriv follows Zale around the site.
