(Oh lol well, I was close. Also, is it dark out now? What time is it?"
"All right, let's be goin now." Zale says as she helps load the eggs into the cart (Despite being a rouge, Zale is pretty strong) then she moves to help push or pull it. "I'd like to get back to Greenest as soon as possible."
It's still dark, but Eric will tell that the returning bats indicate that sunrise is is imminent.
It took you about 8 hrs to get here. The cart slows you down a bit, but not as much as the Roper. If you keep pace with the Roper you'll need about 24-28 hours to get back to Greenest.
Khessa, if needed, can help push the cart (or take over when the pusher is tired).
Otherwise, she tries to stay alert... though she can't help but think how much she wants to copy some of Nixi's spells once she gets back to Greenest! She hopes that her share of loot will be enough to cover the cost of the materials needed to copy at least some spells...
During eventual stops, she talks about magic with Nixi and about the Underdark with Mr Long Arms.
The Roper is a bit reluctant to exit the cave. It seems to be a bit worried about falling of the planet.
Why is the ceiling so high? Is there even a ceiling? What are those little lights up there?
"Don't you really think that creature could make it out of this way up to Greenest, don't you?" Eric whispers to the others (for now he takes care that the Roper don't hear him) "Although Mr. Longarms has proven himself useful, I don't think is good for both of us to carry him out from the place he belongs to"
Seeing Mr Long Arms so out of place and confused, Khessa leaves for later the thought of magic and stays near it, trying to comfort it and explain things to it as best as she can: "There is no proof that there is a ceiling, here in the surface world, Mr Long Arms. If there is, it is so high that you may not care about it. We all get confused, when we are out of our usual environment. Do you know that I was kidnapped by drow, not too long time ago? I had never been in the Underdark... For me, having always a ceiling over me and darkness around me, was unnerving... oh, well, the ill treatments by the drow were even less pleasant, to be honest. But you know what? Once I get used to the foreign environment, I understood that it was just that, 'foreign', something that was unfamiliar to me. It was not intrinsically dangerous. And I have also been able to free myself, journey through the Underdark and come back to the surface. I think you too will get used to the surface, in not too much time. And those light... 'stars' are called. And the bigger one there, is the 'moon'. You can think of them as very far torches thst shed a bit of light in spite of their distance. Of course, if you change your mind and find the surface world too alien for you, you can always give up the employment and simply return to the underground with the corpses we gave you... Choice is yours, Mr Long Arms".
And so on... She is ready to keep the Roper's pace while the others go ahead to Greenest, if needed... she does not want to abandon or betray it, given that it kept its word and has been as helpful as it could!
"There's no way to control those lights, sadly..." sighs Khessa, patting Mr Long Arms on the trunk "Neither moon, nor stars. If light troubles you and you'll not able to adapt to it, best we can try is to have you guard a position inside a building. A building is kind of an artificial cave. A closed, delimited place built with worked stone. We'll see how you can fare once you get to know the "sun". 'Sun' is like the "Moon', but very much brighter. That will probably be the real test for you if you already do not like moon's ligjt much. Here on the surface, the lights change during the time. You have many hours like this with stars and moon. Followed by many hours of sun, with very much more light than this. It's a cicle that repeats itself, no way for anybody to exert control over this. All those who live on the surface must simply adapt and live with it. But hey, this might have its pros also: if you can adapt to sun's light, you can usually see very far, thanks to that light. Enemies will have a hard time sneaking up on you".
Gol: Oh it is! Sun very bright! Get's into Gol's eyes and blinds Gol! Gol attacks get worse and enemy's attacks get better!
Roper: Maybe this isn't the best idea...
Eep: Queen Zale? Maybe King Eek could bring Eek's hoard to this cave? So Mr Long Arms can guard King Eek's hoard from here?
"This might also work!" exclaims Khessa, excited "If you agree, Mr Long Arms, this job offer also seems good and win-win... You could work without getting used to the surface environment, King Eek would gain a very good guardian and, settling in the cave, we could be sure that it won't be occupied in the future by evil forces - so Greenest will be safer, anyway! Sounds great to me... What do you think," she winks at Zale "my queen?"
Zale maintains her scowl and does not make eye contact with anyone, "Yeah whatever. Take the hoard back to yer cave with, hrrrr, Mr. Long Arms." She pauses, "But these eggs are goin back to Greenest... What hoard are you talking about anyway?"
"So be it, Me Long Arms" Khessa hugs the roper as they part. "But don't worry, I'm pretty sure King Eek will be glad to take ownership of the cave and hire you, hoard or no hoard. You... you are a fine creature and I wish you all the best for your career and your life. May you always have good food".
Zale replies to the Kobold through gritted teeth, "Of course he needs a hoard, I just be askin if ye were plannin on addin anything to it? We be bringing most o this stuff back to Greenest, so I just wanted to know, if ye had anything in particular that you plan to add to the current hoard?"
The Roper awkwardly accepts the hug and returns to his preferred place in the cave.
The Kobolds reply that they don't have anything to add to the hoard yet (since they hadn't joined Eek at the time). They do have weapons so the could rob someone on the way back if that's what the Queen wants?
Anyway, how are you guys doing this? We're looking at a 8-10 hrs walk. 3 eggs on the cart? How about mr Sponge? The Kobolds want to stay close to Zale. You think you have about 30-60 minutes until sunrise.
If the cart is big enough for the 3 eggs, we should be fine... we have 3 very strong characters (Zale 16, Kriv & Khessa 18) - 2 can push or pull the cart, the other could bring Mr Sponge on the shoulder, I think. Plus, we should not be in a hurry... if we are slowed down and need to rest before reaching Greenest, we can pause, rest and resume later. Kobolds staying close to Zale should not pose a problem... right? - other than, perhaps, annoying Zale. If they do not like sun, they'll have to choose what's the greatest: their love for Zale or they hate for sun.
We do not have other transport means... and Khessa does not know spells to boost movement or to allow a quicker journey. So I think we should do this way.
Kriv pulls out his rope, tying the center to the cart and a loop at each end. He puts the loops around his arms and begins marching towards Greenest.
It's still dark, but Eric will tell that the returning bats indicate that sunrise is is imminent.

The Kobolds seem visibly confused.
Eep: Friend Zeminny told King Eek that Dragon-Kobold Kings need a hoard! Eep thought Queen would know that...
Roper: It seems it would be wise for you seek an audience with this King Eek. In the meantime I think I'll wait for further notice in this cave.

I'd say...
1 = Zale, 2 = Kriv, 3 = Khessa
