Zale takes a swig from her water skin and looks over the group. "Well? Do ye want to keep goin or do ye need a break? I'm fine either way." After saying this she scans the landscape for anything suspicious or just interesting.
"I guess it's two more hours to Greenest," Khessa evaluates "so we could push on... I'm eager to inform them of this small success! We have not recovered the riches they had been plundered and we are not yet clear on the final objective of the Cult, but at least we can guarantee that we have secured the area, we bring the eggs, we bring a prisoner who is really eager to cooperate and tell what he knows... The citizens will be pleased and they deserve some good news, after all they have been through".
As she talks about the citizens, the left hand of the blonde arcane warrior instinctively caresses Stef's rod, the object which, due to a deep sentimental bond, is able to act as a real arcane focus for her...
'How are you doing?' she imagines to ask him, thinking back to his brown eyes in that slightly thin face 'We're coming back... We didn't disappoint you!'
Exhausted or not, the sight of Stef gives Khessa a boost of energy! The blonde arcane warrior runs up to him and hugs him: "We did it, Stef! We defeated the bad guys who attacked Greenest! They won't come back to disturb you. Just think, we also killed the blue dragon-lady who had fought with Telurion! She had tried to use her lightning breath on us too! But I..." she proudly draws out the rod that the boy had given her "...had the right tool to counter it! Thanks to your rod, I cast a spell that decreased the power of the lightning! Had you felt... it reduced it to just a pinch! The villainess felt so bad... she then had to fight us as equals, only with weapons, without tricks... and of course she lost!"
The tall adventuress kisses him on the cheek, ruffles his blond hair for a moment then says: "Now you and your friends can play peacefully as long as you want!"
A brightly smiling Khessa makes her way to rejoin her companions.
Stef hugs Khessa back and after a few seconds her words sink in.
Wooow! You defeated the whole army with my rod! Guys, guys, ya'll heard that right? The whole cult is destroyed! And I helped! We have to tell everyone!
And all the kids run back to Greenest to spread the word.
'Well, the Cult is far from destroyed,' Khessa thinks, rejoining the others 'but after all, for Greenest it is as if it were... Without being able to count on their base nearby, the Cult will no longer be able to threaten the country. Now all that remains is only to stop the Cult from threatening the rest of Faerûn as well…'
Kriv unties himself from the cart. He takes Mondath’s halberd off his back and turns to the group. “I’m going to visit Telurion at the stream if anyone needs me.”
"Well, at least you'll have good news for him"Khessa pats the dragonborn on the shoulder as he leaves. "He must really have been a nice person, judging from your devotion and from what they say about him, it's a pitty I did not have a chance to know him - and now I'll never have".
"I just saw you in action, with us" tries to reply Khessa, while the other quickly goes, almost as if fleeing. "And, because of that, a quite long line of people will live, here in Greenest. I'd say your inaction is a thing of the past".
'Did he hear me?' wonders the blonde arcane warrior 'He is a fine warrior, with also a fine heart... He should be more proud of what he does, than ashamed of what he might not have done'.
Eric is visibly relieved to see the group reunited with the Greenest people. "Glad we are back safe. By the way I think we should report to Escorbert and Nighthill, and seek for their council about our friend and about the dragon eggs"
Kriv, the locals have created simple, yet tasteful memorials for Telurion. You can see that visitors come regularly, but for the moment you have the place to yourself.
You find your way to the keep and you are immediately recognized. Some guards direct you to what appears to be a war room. Among others Escobert, Nighthill and Leera are here. When you enter Escobert is the first to speak up.
Escobert: Ah! There they are! And King Eek... have you brought.... ehm... your royal retinue?
Eep: Eep, be no king. Eep look like King Eek because King Eek be brother.
Nighthill: Oh well! Let's hear what they have to say! Is might still take a fortnight before we are ready for an attack on the camp, but all intel is welcome!
"The threat posed by the Camp is no more," announces Khessa "even if not only because of us".
The blonde arcane warrior takes a breath, then tries to summarize: "When we reached the Camp, it seemed practically abandoned. Most of the Camp forces had gone; heading west, judging by the traks. Apparently, they had left the day the monk managed to escape. However, the Cave was still occupied by some members of the Cult, including Cyanwrath and Mondath, probably because they wanted to protect some dragon eggs that were there, almost ready to hatch".
"We eliminated the cultists," the tall adventuress continues, "including Cyanwrath and Mondath. Only a handful of followers managed to escape us; we could do nothing about it. We recovered the dragon eggs. We believe that if hatchlings are raised by good mentors, they can become good dragons, a potential aid for good causes. We have secured the cave. We think it might be a good idea to assign it to King Eek, who will be able to count on the support of a few other kobolds and another powerful guardian whom we have convinced to leave the Cult to come over to our side. This way, the Cave would remain in the hands of allied forces, rather than being at constant risk of being occupied by monsters or hostile forces".
"As you can deduce," concludes Khessa "the Cult should no longer pose a threat, here, in the immediate vicinity of Greenest. Unfortunately, the Cult can of course strike elsewhere... In the Cave there was a shrine of Tiamat, so it is possible that there may be a machination of the dragon queen herself behind the latest events. We found some clues about where the forces of the Cult should have gone to carry out their plans. A simple map of the Greenfields area, showing the villages the cult attacked and looted, with an arrow sketched in from the Greenfields toward the west and the town of Beregost on the Trade Way, where the arrow turns north. Zale, do you have the map to show?" asks the blonde arcane warrior, before going on "Plus, we found a sheet of paper that is covered with numerals in columns and contains the note 'Everything must be freighted north to Naerytar. Rezmir allowed us to keep some pearls, a ring, and a handful of small stones'. Last but not least, we managed to take a prisoner" the tall adventuress pats Mr Sponge on the shoulder "and he will be happy to collaborate with you and tell you what he knows".
Kriv makes his way to the memorial. He takes the halberd and sticks the blade into the ground next to the memorial. After a few minutes of silence, “Cyanwrath is dead. Rest peacefully.” Kriv makes his way back to the keep and returns to the quartermaster. “Hello, I was hoping you might have a weapon to buy?”

"No point to camp here just to spare few hours in my opinion, let's push on" the dwarf nods
"Onward!" chimes in the diminutive gnome.
You all take a level of exhaustion, but you reach Greenest without further issue.
There are some kids playing in the fields. Looks lik Stef is one of them.

Others, I assume you're heading for the keep?

Yes, Eric's idea seems a sound one, we should head for the keep to report to Escorbert and Nighthill. Let's do it.

Everyone in the room looks at you expectantly.

"What she said," adds Nixi, helpfully.
Nighthill seems to think things over. But Escobert is quick to respond.
Escobert: Kobolds can take good care of dragon eggs. I assume that's what they were doing for the Cult.
Nighthill: True, but... Dragons live much longer than Kobolds... King Eek is an ally, but what happens when he dies?
Nighthill is interrupted by Leera.
Leera: Did you say "some pearls". As a string of pearls?
Some guards take the Cultist away to be questioned, presumably by Escobert.
