Khessa thinks the petrified wolf would have an artistic (and thus monetary) value, but she guesses the statue is also too heavy to transport... so she ignores it and simply follows Eric, resuming the journey.
Eric exhales sharply "I hope the almighty gods will give her enough wisdom to understand the situation and will ease her sorrow and anger. Or perhaps they will give us some luck to mislead her thoughts, but I am totally agree with you Zeminny, sadly..
Looking toward Khessa "as you probably got, her husband happened to be killed, since they were hired by the Cult, and the guys responsible for his death happened to be.... you know... the ways of the gods are quite twisted"
At Eric's words, Khessa turns for a moment to look at the two mercenaries now far away and sighs, with a hard look in her blue eyes: "If this is the case, and if that woman is capable of unleashing an entire company of mercenaries against whoever killed her husband... considering that she is probably about to find out the truth and that at the moment she was almost alone, with only one other person to defend her... Perhaps it would have been safer for everyone to have her reunited with her beloved. After all, no one forced them to work for someone as evil as the Cult - they chose freely to do so and, if it were up to me, I would not have hesitated to make them pay the consequences in this circumstance".
"But I know that not everyone is as 'pragmatic' as I am..." she turns to look at Nixi "Or should I really say 'ruthless'? In any case," she is speaking to all her companions again "if instead you all prefer to let them carry on and hope for the best, it's your call. After all, if one bad day we find ourselves surrounded by a hostile mercenary company, Nixi and I might even be spared (although I doubt it - among the requirements for being a mercenary, a good heart does not figure at the top of the list). Do as you think best, I'm with you whatever you choose".
"They were making their business. I hope they know the risks and she'll understand that. Nevertheless, she turned out to be a good ally and has changed her path. We have no right to attack her just because we fear a possible retaliation. She did us no harm" the dwarf says firmly.
Khessa makes Zewna slow down for a moment to approach the dwarven cleric and pats him on the shoulder: "You're a really good and wise person Eric. I'm glad that at least our paths have crossed".
The dwarf laughs back, a bit embarrassed by the compliment "I'm glad to! it's not common to find ladies who are farmer, warrior and wizard at the same time!"
Zale rides in silence as Eric explains the situation to the newer team members. She grips her reins a bit tighter as the conversation continues, then forces herself to loosen her hold as it draws to an end. Why was this bothering her so much? She used to be a pirate, then a thief, now she's running around playing hero in order to avenger her family. Why was the death of this one man haunting her? It's not like she'd never killed before. Though, she'd never faced the family of those she killed. Was that it? She scowls and grits her teeth. She can't let this keep bothering her. It's stealing her sleep and clouding her mind. Eric is right. Anne has to understand the circumstances surrounding Wesley's death. Until the company had left the cult, they were enemies. She doesn't need forgiveness for killing an enemy, nor will she ask for it. All Zale wants is to avenge her family, she won't hold it against Anne if she comes after her for the same reason. However, that does not mean the rouge won't go out without a fight.
And with that you're on your merry way again. Well, the jovial upbeat atmosphere is gone, but at least you're making good time. The rest of the journey uneventful. Nothing seems bother you, no wolves, no strange chickens only the nightmares for some of you. On the sixth day of your journey, just past noon, you reach the city overlooking the River Chionthar.
"good Ferdinand we did it, warm stables and meals await ahead!" the dwarf laugh. while slowly guides the donkey along the main road, he takes a look around, trying to spot any strange movement or threat, memories from Greenest's siege are still vivid in his mind so he approaches the town with a certain circumspection...
Khessa realizes that Eric is looking around with a wary air and she immediately doesn't understand the reason: everything seems calm to her... 'Maybe she's checking that Anne's mercenary company isn't in town?'
However, once the group reaches the stables and leaves their mounts there, the blonde arcane warrior proposes: "Shall we go eat something too in a tavern and ask for Leosin? Or Ontharr Frume, perhaps... maybe he is the one who is better known here".
Zale flashes a tired smile, "Eric, ye can't take Ferdinand in there with ye. Let's take care of our mounts before we hit the bar." She dismounts and pats her horse's neck, "They did most o the work ye know." She pulls the reins over Taynin's head then leads him over to the stable where she hands them to the stable boy. Then she turns to whoever she's supposed to pay and fishes out 5 silver. She hopes they don't need to pay for more than one day at that rate, but she doesn't complain.
After she does this, she follows Eric into the tavern.
Khessa in turn pays for a day's accommodation for Zewna, complimenting the mare, drying her and patting her neck and back; then she takes a carrot out of her pocket and feeds it to her.
Finally, she joins Eric and Zale in the tavern: "There," she points, "there's a table for seven that looks free" and sits down, calling to the others.
"That it be." Zale says as she walks over and sits at the empty table. "So, how are we supposed to be getting back in contact with Leosin? Is this where he told us to meet him?"

occ: I'm up to leave the wolf behind as well

"Oh, well, if she has changed her path..." Khessa shrugs "let's just hope she continues to do us no harm" and she simply keeps riding.
"perhaps I just hope that the gods don't make our paths to cross each other again... better hurry up, to lower their chances" the dwarf smiles

“I hope we get the chance to do right by her.” Kriv looks back for a second, before returning to their travel.

You find a place called "Savanna Stalls". They ask 5sp per day for 1 mount.

"A tavern finally!" the dwarf cheers "Moradin knows how much I've missed a good pint of dark beer!" he says crossing the tavern door.

A tall slender half Elf with a thin mustache comes to your table. In a lilting voice he asks what you want to drink.
