"Hei, no one is up to drink? Oh the younger fellows of today" he shakes his head and swiftly touches Khessa shoulder while the others are playing, casting Guidance (the lady has +d4 on her next check)

Khessa realizes that Eric's kind help is offered - and also that this means cheating... but the blonde arcane warrior doesn't have a very high opinion of rules! So she says nothing and casts a fleeting glance of gratitude at the dwarf cleric, winking for a moment.
Ontharr is impressed by the show of strength from Khessa and Kriv. The corners of his mouth drop a little when he notices Eric cast his little cantrip. It quickly changes back to a big grinn when he hears Zale making a fuss.
Seems like we've got a late participant! Khessa dear, a big warrior like you wouldn't mind an extra round right?
Khessa make an Athletics check against Zale's .
Winner advances to the semi-finals together with Kriv, Ortharr and the unnamed Order of the Gauntlet member.
Zeminny, Leosin leans over and whispers: Don't be fooled by this charade. He's testing you. Impressing Ontharr Frume with your prowess and honesty is in your long-term interest.
After Calvin is refused to enter the arm wrestling whilst in a beast form he shrugs his shoulders, "Oh, well. Never mind then."
Instead Calvin turns his attention to casting a spell. He takes his totem in hand, and begins to draw on the energies found in nature. He waves his arms around in a circle before pointing to his head.
"Shakisha. Tell me where I can find a large reptilian creature that swims."

Khessa in turn smiles at the vigorous paladin and replies: "Of course! It's right that everyone has their own chance! And I thank you for the consideration you have of me, I'll do my best".
He takes a seat in front of her dragonborn friend and smiles at her too: "It will be an honor to compare myself with you, Zale! I already know from experience that how strong you are - it will undoubtedly be a good match!"
...Don't worry lady Khessa, I'll save your honor! The Paladin tells Khessa with a wink. ...
"Sorry to disappoint you, Onthar," smiles Khessa "but I am no lady! I am a cabbage farmer - albeit one who has been forced by circumstances to learn quickly to throw a few greatsword strokes and cast a few spells. But for my firends, I'm Khessa, period - let's forget the 'lady', shall we? And, by the way, I do not feel dishonored for having lost to my friend Zale - as you'll find out, she is stronger than she looks and she is a very worthy opponent for anyone".
"So," the blonde arcane warrior winks back "I will congratulate you if in the end you'll be the winner... but let's wait until the end of the competition - even if in fact you seem to have some advantage in this competition for now ..."
(OOC: Yes, pal, in fact you roll with advantage and you have a +7... and you had the nerve to disapprove of Eric who tried to give me a +1d4!?)
"...in competitions, as well as on the battlefield, the unpredictable can always happen... I might have had an unlucky match, but my friends may still surprise you" she finally puts him on the shouilder. "Let's the fun continue!"

[[ I don't make the rules, I just think them up and write them down. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with Frume later this campaign. (he has +5 STR modifier and +2 from proficiency. ]]
Eric cheers for his friends and tries to comfort them with food and beers when they lost. then he says, laughing "you are strong fellows indeed, for Moradin's beard I'm impressed but I was wandering if you have the guts to challenge a dwarf in a drinking contest!"
occ: Eric has adv on saves against poison, being a dwarf. does if affect drinking alcohol? it's a sort of poison after all...

(OOC: Yes I was mentally speaking with Onthar, not with you 😉 He was the 'pal', not you - I was thinking absurd that he resented the little help Eric was trying to give us… when he already had so much advantage of his own! But I understand that the paladins have their point of view (which often, by the way, according to them, is the only right one). Anyway, yes, it's Onthar I've been imagining I'm arguing with, not you. I'll specify it better next time.)

Calvin nods as if he understands Nixi's words, then he turns to her, "Right, and was I with them or with you?"
However, before she can answer, his attention turns to arm wrestling.
"Wait, is the arm wrestling restricted to humanoids, or would anyone be allowed to enter?"

Zeminny watches the contest and cheers on his friends
I need Eric to make a Sleight of Hand check (unless he isn't trying to hide it).
[If Zale and Calvin want to join, that can be done. I'll simply make more Order npc's. But they won't allow a wildshape]

He will not try to hide, he'll just try to dissimulate... pretending it is just a motivational speech
His slight of hand would be 1

You learn the location of such a creature. It's about 4,5 miles from the tavern to the river.

(OOC: OK, sooner or later I was bound to roll low... looks like Zale will have to keep up our honor with Kriv)
The alcohol infused Zale surprises Khessa and advances.
Don't worry lady Khessa, I'll save your honor! The Paladin tells Khessa with a wink.
Semi-finals: Zale vs Frume and Kriv vs unnamed Order of the Gauntlet member.
Before they start Ontharr tells Zale: Good to see you can hold your beer! You should join the drinking contest later.
Frume's Athletics check: 17(adv) + 7 = 24
Kriv your opponent rolled: 13 + 3 = 16

No, you're just getting tipsy. But so are the others. This whole arm wrestle thingy is a matter of minutes.
Ah... crap.. no final for Kriv :(
