Khessa nudges Nixi: "Anator can control the Outer City east of the wall and Isidore can control the docks... Both can fly or lean on a roof and control without attracting any attention - and come back to report to us as soon as they spot the big caravan of the Cult. What do you think?"
Nixi smiles, "Great idea!" She then whispers to her raven, who flies off to monitor the traffic at the docks.

Aldor Urnpoleshurst is a very cautious man. He ask you to join him and Khessa a bodyguard. The pay is the same.
Zale shakes herself out of her mood when she realizes that everyone is supposed to find a job. She can't let them beat her to all the good ones!
Persuasion: 19
You also find a job as a bodyguard. Lai Angesstun is you employer. He's a male Dwarf and he's hauling scented cooking oil and perfumes from Amn, hoping to make a huge profit from the aristocrats and dandies of Waterdeep. He talks about money constantly: how much he intends to make, how he will spend it, and how others will envy him for it. Angesstum matches Urnpoleshurst in pay.

Calvin is unsure on how to proceed. He knows he is no the most persuasive, and is not particularly strong. He does think that might transforming into a lizard might help him get a job. On the other hand, keeping his druidic abilities a secret for now might be beneficial.
With no other option, he decides to do like Zeminny does.

You manage to impress Noohar Serelim and his mute brother Selvek. These Moon Elves are hauling exquisite wooden carvings made by the Elves of Cormyr. They hire you as a basic guard for 5 sp per day, plus food and living expenses on the road.
Zale happily engages in friendly conversation with her new boss....even if that just involves smiling and nodding to his constant ramblings about money. Looks like she's struck gold herself with this one. She wonders if she'll be bringing home the biggest bag o coin....
With that taken care of Ackyn Selebon suggests that you find a place to stay near the Blackgate (it's evening by now). Are Anator and Isidore on patrol yet?

If they do not tire too much, I'd have them on patrol until city's doors close (or if doors never close, until it is too dark to travel).

That, they can do.
The gates close at night. However the Outer City is outside the walls and ships can arrive at any time at the docks (but that seems unlikely).
The dwarf laughs "never been in such a big city before and neither in an harbor sincerely, so my instinct is not better than yours. But I guess we can pick up the closest one. We could follow master Selebon's advice; we could walk to the Blackgate and find a place nearby"

Nixi promises she will keep Aldor safe as the caravan travels to its next destination.
Insight to see if there is anything about him that seems out of the ordinary for a lawyer, suspicious for affiliation with the Cult of the Dragon, etc.: 18

He seems suspicious of everyone, maybe he's just paranoid though?

The hat must have made him look less imposing

Zeminny beams with delight being selected to aid Kriv as a guard. Clearly working out has paid off.

Well, even more unlikely that a caravan arrives at night. I'd let familiars rest, at night, and resume their duty next morning.
"It would be wise to spend the night in a tavern close by, and reach the docks at dawn, waiting for them to arrive" says the dwarf
Khessa approves: "Sure Eric, I'm with you. Which tavern does your dwarven instinct recommend?" she winks "I'm trusting you in this..."
The dwarf laughs "never been in such a big city before and neither in an harbor sincerely, so my instinct is not better than yours. But I guess we can pick up the closest one. We could follow master Selebon's advice; we could walk to the Blackgate and find a place nearby"

"That one seems a good advice, from someone who has some actual mariner instinct!" laughs the dwarf
"Kriv do be right!" Zale grins, "Let's go find us a salty tavern then shall we!"
"You are the 'captain', Zale..." jokes Khessa "lead the way!"
