“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
Ok, you walk back to Ackyn's place and it's a bit crowded. Many travellers and merchants come to buy something before they leave tomorrow. However, it appears that your employers are not among them. They have probably already been able to do their last shopping thanks to your warnings.
As soon as Khessa has the opportunity to speak to Ackyn alone, he informs him of the latest news: "The caravan we had seen is them, in fact. They want to sell their wagons, get new wagons north of the town and pack merchandise and supplies onto the new wagons. They are also looking for a curtained palanquin, which they want to use to transport their leader, I don't know if for luxury, for secrecy, or both. They have been directed to you, so it's you they'll come to".
After that, if that's all Ackyn needs, the blonde arcane warrior nudges Nixi: "Should we reach our lawyer? If departure is imminent, he'll be happy to have her bodyguards close by! He always seems so… cautious; almost scared. Maybe he's wronged some criminals in his career".
Khessa is happy to start protecting her employer, she supports him and takes care never to stray too far from his side.
If Urnpoleshurst is in the mood to talk, the blonde arcane warrior takes the opportunity to try to understand if her caution is generic or if she is afraid of some specific danger (I don't know... criminals he has pissed off during his career for example. ..) "You know, I'll obviously be careful about everything anyway... but if there's some specific threat you're fearing, if you tell me about it I can perhaps be more effective and ready to counter it".
If, on the other hand, the lawyer prefers not to have a conversation, the tall adventuress obviously does not insist and limits herself to careful watch.
Zale confidently introduces herself to her employer and assures him that she will keep him safe. "If at any point ye feel like yer in danger, don't cause ye never will be with me by yer side. Heheh."
@Khessa: He doesn't seem very talkative. Not here, he says, looking around nervously. On the road, he adds a moment later.
Unless there are still pressing matters you want to deal with, you can enjoy a short night's sleep. The next morning, before breakfast, you are supposed to be ready to leave.
@Khessa: He doesn't seem very talkative. Not here, he says, looking around nervously. On the road, he adds a moment later.
...
“As you like,” Khessa tries to reassure him, smiling and gently placing a hand on his shoulder “relax and don't worry. No one will hurt you as long as I draw breath. And that last one" she winks "is a habit I'm not going to break".
After that, the blonde arcane warrior zealously engages in her watch task, also recommending Anator to assist her, with her peculiar senses (OOC: like blindsight...).
When Urnpoleshurst retires to rest, the tall adventuress suggests that Nixi take turns with her and Anator watching his door (if he has a room to himself - if instead he sleeps with them, watch him directly), for added security, since he seems so worried (so three shifts of watch: one Khessa, one Nixi, one Anator).
If Nixi needs to rest all night, then, no problem, only she and Anator share the task.
'I've heard of a spell useful for sleeping more peacefully...' Khessa finds himself thinking, anyway 'Once the appropriate ritual has been performed on an area, any unexpected visit is signaled, either with a telepathic message, or with an actually audible alarm... It would have been useful to us now - and it might be useful to us also at times when we camp, for that matter! Who knows if I'll be able to master it, in the future?'
However, the next day the blonde arcane warrior is happy to wake up even though it's early, because she is eager not only to protect her employer, but also to protect a lot of innocents... by starting to spy on the Cult's caravan.
'And then, I'd also like to see Eric again...' the tall adventurer finds herself thinking, feeling calmer at the very thought. It was nice to enjoy the company of Nixi, who is very nice, is a sweet heart, and is soooo much more skilled than her in magic... but the dwarf friend (if it is still only as a friend that she is considering him)... well, she missed him!
When Eric retreats for the night he spends some time in meditation, as usual. But his thoughts are more troubled than usual. He wonders about his friends; that became very close to him. Surprisingly he find himself thinking about the blonde arcane warrior quite often, he is very impressed by her story and her personality. Soon he discover that is feelings are becoming deeper than friendship. He shakes his head, making all the effort to push this thoughts back, "Ah, how weak I am, and stupid..." he murmurs to himself during his rituals "I'm just a lost wandered dwarf, there is no way she could have that feeling" he shakes his head, driving his thoughts away, continuing his meditation. Suddenly he became aware that another thought has started to cross his mind; something that he hasn't felt for a long time. Fear. He realize that, for the first time since he left the ruins of his village, now he has something he is afraid to loose.
The next moring you all gather near the north gate. The caravan contains 11 wagons and quite a few travelers that ride horses or simply walk beside the wagons. Not all travelers are merchants. One wagon carries a family relocating to the north another a diplomat on a mission to Waterdeep etc. You are all with your employers and are expected to stay close. Most of you can ride with the wagon of your employer, expect for Nixi and Khessa. Urnpoleshurst has a pack mule and 3 horses.

Ackyn is glad to hear that. He informs you that the caravan will leave at dawn and advises to find your employers to ask if they have need for you.
[[Urnpoleshurst will ask Nixi and Khessa to stay with him in an upper class inn in the Upper City. The others have the evening to themselves.]]

Calvin retires for the night and enjoys a good sleep.
(Still long rest?)

The dwarf will have a troubled night.
Kriv takes a rest for the night.
Zale is a bit hesitant to go to bed, but she eventually forces herself to do so...hoping she gets a decent nights sleep.
Yeah, expect for Khessa and Nixi if they take turns watching his door (but no exhaustion, so I don't think it matters).
