The magic comes from the two freestanding suits of elven plate armor. They are warded with freezing runes. The walls kept you from noticing, but once Zale passed through them and activated the runes you got the "ping" of magic hitting Zale.
Zale feels a strange cold sensation that hurts a little (3hp of cold dmg). She doesn't quite understand why her friends seem so troubled.
As you turn around to hush your friends you notice... you can't turn around! You can't move!
[Zale is frozen in place for 1 minute. She may use an action on to make a DC 15 Strength check (every 6 seconds) ending the effect on herself on a success.]
Khessa is in fact clearly worried: "Poor Zale, who knows what happened to her..." she murmurs. "Anyway, if this trap is even meant to delay intruders, that means someone comes to check regularly - or is notified when the trap is triggered. We've got to do something. Maybe we can neutralize it, if we find out how it works. What's the source of the magic, Eric? Can you figure it out, dear? Perhaps by removing or altering the source..."
"I can see the magic comes from suit of elven plate armor, Although I cannot decipher them properly I can see it is warded with freezing runes" Eric stops and appears to think deeply "You know my dear, you are so smart! In fact, Moradin may grant me the power to both contrast others enchantment and altering any source of metal !"
He starts waving his hands slowly in the direction of the runed armor, "Altering the metal requires less power although it needs more time; I hope it will work"
Eric uses his Channel divinity (Artisan's Blessing) to reshape the armor, melting the armor in order to wipe the runes out. He melts the armor and reshape it in an intricately decorated necklace, decorated with dwarfish runic symbols of protection. Once finished he wears it first to ensure it is safe and thereafter he gives it to Khessa "A little present for you dear" he laugh "I would have loved covering you in gold but I think armor's steel suits you better!"

Khessa is incredibly relieved that her dragonborn friend has recovered from the magical paralysis: "Are you okay, Zale? Apparently, the Cultists here like magical traps..."
Since Eric is busy, the blonde arcane warrior ritual-casts her own Detect Magic to check if the magic originating from the two armors is still active or has 'discharged' onto Zale. And also to check whether the two extra suspicious demonic statues are radiating magic of some kind or not.
Zale stumbles forward when she finally breaks free and glares at the statues. "I think I be fine. GAH I hate magic"She shakes her arms as if the get the feeling back into them. "Guess my scouting be pretty pointless. I'll be lettin ye magic users deal with those things." She then proceeds to station herself a good distance away from the armor and the statues while Eric works.
Discovering that the armors still emanate magic, Khessa [[ OOC: before the woman arrives, I suppose? Because the ritual-cast only takes 10' and the woman arrives after 15'...]] tries an experiment: she attempts to burn with magical fire the runes of the other armor, the one that Eric is not working on.
[[ OOC: Fire Bolt is a spell that can damage even objects, not only creatures. ]]
Does the blonde arcane warrior manage, in some attempt, to erase the runes with her fire? And if so, does the magic finally disappear? Regardless of the outcome of the experiment with the magical fire, however, she then waits for Eric, because she is curious to verify the outcome of his attempt as well.
As the woman arrives, the tall adventuress, even though she trusts in Zale's sweet tongue, keeps herself ready to intervene, should the need arise. From the woman's words, it seems that no alarm has been raised... and it would be important that things keep going that way!
