"Yes," Khessa adds "let's just not forget the armors we spoke of with Talis..." she winks a moment at Eric, ready to try to take them away, as if the owner gave consent.
[[ OOC: As described in an earlier post, Khessa would like to try bringing an armor out, taking the armor from behind, since it seems the trap does not work in that direction. If successful, she advises Eric to do the same. ]]
"Oh, Yes dear, the armors, you mean the ones Talis has just suggested us to take away; the armors that she specifically indicated as part of our deal, in exchange of our help.... "
(Once Eric understand Khessa's intentions, and if he is sure he is unseen; he casts Guidance on her, just in case she need to be more persuasive)
With the banner in your possession you make your way back to through the narrow corridor, passing a few Kobolds allong the way. The servant goes about his business, entering the door to the west (it seems to be the kitchen).
When you enter the hall you notice it's empty. It's clean, spotless even.
[[ OOC: Well... gratz to the kobold servants' efficiency... but if the armors are still there, you know already what Khessa wànts to try... Or do you mean the armors too aren't there anymore? ]]
(Oop, for some reason I thought Talis told us where the banner is.)
Zale feels quite silly for not asking directions, but she covers up that feeling quickly. With Khessa easily locating the banner with the help of a servant, Zale is snapped back to the present and realizes what Khessa and Eric are trying to do.... "Ye really wanna test yer luck with that?"She asks, "I mean, I be all for it heheh."
Khessa smiles at Zale: “Yes, I think Talis owes us more than a pat on the back for taking this risk for her. And after all, I didn’t lie to her… this help will really improve our chances of surviving – and thus doing what she wants. And when she finds out about the theft… what do you think she will do? Tell everybody what we’re going to do on her behalf? I don't think so. So I say let’s just do it”.
Khessa looks around for a moment: "I think we faced already all the dangers lurking here... All the guardians should have come at us the first time, shouldn't they? Why split them in many waves, giving the intruders more chances to overcome them? So... I think it's worth the risk".
[[ OOC: Well... gratz to the kobold servants' efficiency... but if the armors are still there, you know already what Khessa wànts to try... Or do you mean the armors too aren't there anymore? ]]
Oh no, the armors are still there. Mounted on crude wooden stands, either repaired or replaced, just like the first time you enterd the lodge.
Khessa, how do you want to do this?
Zale,
Given your aversion to Kobolds, you're probably the one who notices that a few Kobolds are missing.
Since, from what Khessa has seen, the trap seems to activate when someone passes between the two suits of armor (in fact she avoided it by passing from behind one of them) what she tries is to move one by pushing or pulling the wooden stand, without going in the middle, perhaps first moving it away from the wall to have more room to maneuver, then possibly moving it all the way outside. She does this by behaving naturally... as naturally as she led the party to retrieve the banner, as if she had been authorized to do what she was doing.
If the blonde arcane warrior manages to take it out, then she tries to carry it normally, hoping that touching it from there will no longer have any negative effects - and if she is right she will suggest Eric to do as she did.
Once away from the lodge, she will then try to be safe what she had already started before the gargoyles interrupted her... erase the magic rune by burning with magic fire.
So you move one of the armors by pushing the wooden stand. See that it works you move it outside. Still works. Howeven when you touch the armor... make a CON save.
[[ OOC: A really annoying rune... Good thing that whatever happens, at least it happens outside! ]]
Khessa's CON save: 23
Even if (as I hope) Khessa manages to avoid any unpleasant effects, she warns Eric that apparently even when the suits of armor are separated by a greater distance (one still inside the lodge and the other one outside) the trap still springs - and leaves it up to him to decide whether he wants to risk the trap to get the other suit out or whether he prefers to leave it there.
[[ OOC: A really annoying rune... Good thing that whatever happens, at least it happens outside! ]]
Khessa's CON save: 23
Yep, that saves.
You feel the magical surge but you manage to shrug it off. You realize that it's not very practical to have to make a CON save every time you touch the armor. If only there was a way to dispel magic.
OK, Khessa resumes her original attempt: she tries what she had already started before the gargoyles interrupted her... erase the magic rune by burning with magic fire.
[[ OOC: That cantrip can damage objects... It should not take long to erase with damage part of the rune, I hope... That should be enough to ruin the trap ]]
"Don't waist you're energy my dear" Eric pads gently over Khessa's shoulder "runes inscribed with elemental magic do not follows the rules of the natural element, they also are little sparkles from the forge of the gods" he then turns his attention on the rune "anyway, the blacksmith may always quench this sparkles, it's like putting sand on living fire"
Since Anator's services have never been requested since we left the Castle for the Lodge, I would say that he is in his pocket dimension. Khessa will call upon him when she actually needs him.
Anyway... with 'Dispel Magic works well enough' do you mean Khessa and Eric finally own a Plate Armor? Can we add it to our sheets?

Eric's one would be 24

Eric casts Dispel Magic over the magic rune
I was about to ask Khessa to make an Arcana check. But Dispel Magic works well enough.
Btw where is Anator during all this? Curled up in Khessa's hair?
