Nixi's face is red, either with embarrassment or anger, possibly both. "I'm fine!"she says, dusting herself off.
"Well, the most important thing," tries to play down Khessa "is that at least you're back with us and in good health! The only thing you've lost, in the end," she winks "is the chance to bear the title of 'Eggbane' - at least for now. Anyway, now I'm going to get food for Mr Long Arms, so maybe it'll finally figure out who it should ally with".
And the tall adventuress goes to fetch the requested bodies.
'Great!'thinks Khessa 'Mr Long Arms seems to take his assignment seriously... I bet it will prove a good employee and all (but the Cult, of course) will benefit from that!'
Zale hesitantly puts her crossbow away before following Khessa and Eric to retrieve the "food". Seems the roper is more intelligent than she'd given it credit for. So far, Khessa seems to have gotten it under control and, assuming it doesn't turn on them, gained Greenest a protector. Either way, she is glad that they will be able to get those eggs. Perhaps if the hachlings are raised by good hands, they to could be protectors of Greenest... Unless Eric and Kriv follow through with the making of omelets. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. Killing guard drakes was one thing. They are nothing more than an animal. Dragons on the other hand. They are intelligent beings. Smashing the eggs would be the equivalent of killing an unborn child. A child never given the chance to do anything right or wrong, punished for a crime it may or may not ever have committed.
She glares down at the guard that she had killed earlier as if waiting for the body to do...something, before grabbing its arms and heaving it over her shoulder.
Noticing Eric acting a bit odd, she asks, "Uh, Eric? You good? Ye seem rather...excited?"
"I guess Eric is happy because we're having some success against the Cult of the Dragon..." Khessa replies to Zale, dragging by the collar a corpse in each hand, quite naturally - for her, the cultists, after what they've done, do not deserve any particular sympathy... not alive and even less dead "We have found clues as to where they may have taken what they raided, we have eliminated important elements such as Cyanwrath and Mondath, we are cleaning this place from top to bottom... Not to mention that we also found some treasure... Plus maybe we have founbd a protector for Greenest and we can thus save the dragon's eggs, instead to be forced to destroy them... Being in the mood to whistle around doesn't seem so strange to me".
"I don't be to sure about that." Zale replies eyeing the dwarf. "He's been doin that since before the roper said it would work with us. He seemed mighty eager to make some omelets... Not that I really blame 'im for that. I can't say I'm not bitter towards dragon's meself, that bloody blue worm killed me entire family after all, but I definitely see some use for having some on our side." She continues to haul the body towards the pit.
"I'm always for trying to leave behind living allies rather than dead enemies, when possibile" smiles Khessa. "I'd prefer to find good adoptive parents for the eggs, instead of cooking them. When it comes to food, my preference goes always to cabbages".
"Oh, I just feel like we have avoided a great peril you know, Ropers are dangerous creatures of the underdark. If we manage to avoid the fight and getting out of here with some dragon eggs we'll have something to cheer for!" The dwarf mutters "Although I would like to smash everything related to the Cult, including those eggs, there is no rush for it. and you two made a good point " he looks toward the other two "probably the best thing to do is to get those eggs back to Greenest and dispose of them according to town's council. If they'll probe to be a threat we can always kill the dragon till they are young"
He grimaces and shakes his head when Khessa mentions cabbages...
I'd say we brought (maybe with multiple trips, if needed) the bodies of: - Frulam Mondath - The guards and cultists we slew with her (I don't exactly remember how many died and how many fled) - The berserkers that were with Cyanwrath
(Khessa does not remember of more slain 'humans' to bring)
The dragonborn raises an eyebrow at Khessa, "Cabbages? That be an odd choice o dish if ye ask me. I much prefer a smoked fish. Especially shark. Those critters make mighty fine meals." She sighs, "Feels so long since I smelled the sea, but I will never forget the taste o fresh ocean fish."
Zale shrugs at the Dwarf's answer. "I suppose you be right. And yes, that is exactly my thoughts when it comes to the eggs." She's relieved that Eric doesn't seem to want to simply murder them.
Once they return to the roper, Zale hauls the body as close to the edge as possible. "Well here are these. We did throw a live one down there earlier. Feel free to eat that one too."
Khessa puzzled face turns to Zale; finally she regains enough of her breath to state: "Cabbages are among the most healthy and delicious food mankind ever discovered! And the perfume, as you boil them in the water... Did you ever taste lemon garlic sauteed cabbage, maybe with onions? Sautéed red cabbage? Cabbage rolls? Corned beef and cabbage?"
"You know, my family farms cabbages from generations..." at that, suddenly, sadness brings shadows in the deep of her eyes; the woman wipes away something (maybe tears?) from the eyes with the back of her hand, muttering: "...or at least they did, as long as they have been able to. Darn! The wind must have blown some dust in my eyes..." (although there is not much wind in the dungeon...)
(OOC: As far as we know, there are only 2 eggs down there? And there is evidence of a fight between the roper and the drakes? Something like new wounds on the roper, or on the drakes... Just curious).
"Great, Mr Long Arms!" congratulates Khessa, taking the eggs "Now, we have to finish clearing this place. What would you prefer? You come with us and help, so it will be easier and quicker (and, maybe, you get some bonus corpse)? Or you stay safe for now and wait here for us? Whatever you choose, after clearing, we bring you to your next employers. They will be delighted to have such a good employee!"
Nixi's face is red, either with embarrassment or anger, possibly both. "I'm fine!" she says, dusting herself off.

"Fair enough!" the old dwarf says "let's go get Furlam and her comrades back here!"
As you leave you notice that Roper reaches for the first egg. He needs his other tendrils to keep 2 Guard Drakes at bay.

Eric goes to the chamber for picking up the corps, whistling around

(OOC: Ah, what may dwarves know about fine cooking 😉)
I see you have returned! Your Dragon egg is ready for you. Now, let me see what you've brought!
The Roper reaches with its tendrils.
(What have you brought it? Btw Calvin, your Wildshape is ending soon)

Kriv hangs his head. He mutters to himself, “I don’t want to kill. I just want to protect everyone.”

(I think there were two that ran away.)

The Roper reels in Frulam Mondath and takes a few bites.
Hmmm, yes... this will do! The females always taste better. I think it's because they have an higher fat content.... but a deal is a deal!
The Roper brings you the second egg.

Eric nods and awaits the Roper to answer (Although he does not think it's possible to make an actual ally out of it, as Khessa believes)
