"Eric, let's approach on foot. They could be people fleeing the raid for all we know. The rest of you can hang back and be our backup if things go sideways."
You all are still unnoticed. Zale and Zeminny see why: there are 4 Humans and 8 Kobolds around a cooking fire. They sought shelter in a low spot between surrounding hills, where tall boulders have rolled into a loose jumble. In fact, the surroundings offer no protection while making it easier for you to sneak up on the site. Looks like they are roasting a few prairie hens for a meal.
They look like Cultists. The Kobolds and Humans seem to distrust each other, and although the Cultists act as if they’re the bosses, their leadership amounts to nothing more than ineffectual bullying. The Humans’ weapons are stacked against a rock, out of easy reach. The Kobolds have their weapons on their belts.
"So, these must be the cultists we've been tracking, right?" Calvin asks. "What should we do? Should we take them out, or just check the camp out for any signs of what we are looking for."

“The secret we should never let the gamemasters know is that they don't need any rules.” ― Gary Gygax
"I think you be right Calvin," Zale replies, "I think we should take out a few, then catch one. Maybe we could get 'im to tell us where to look." Zale thinks for a moment, then flashes a wry smile, "Eek, now be yer chance. A king needs subjects right? Them Kobolds down there don't look like they like their current situation, perhaps ya can give 'em a better one?"
Zeminny will say “ yes. Me and Eek will recruit the kobolds to join his Kingdom. We will liberate them from the oppressors of the cult. You guys hit the humans first and we will gather our kobold friends and encourage them to help cut the cult swine.”
( we can put the amulet of kobold friendship to good use)
(Eeks new royal guard will be well fed and paid for their service like proper kobold-at-arms…then we will need to capture a stronghold for his capital, lol)
Eek agrees! Eek already knows a good cave for the kingdom!
At this point the Kobolds grab their share of the half-cooked lunch and move about fifty yards in your direction to eat, while the Humans continue squabbling over how to cook a hen and the uselessness of Kobolds as allies.
Zeminny will motion to Eek, “ I think this is the perfect opportunity, they are quite far from the cult guys now, let’s go.”
we will quietly approach the Kobolds, when we get near enough we will hold our hands out stretched and I will introduce Eek to them.

” Hello friends and hear me, for I am the spokesperson for the soon to be mighty King of Kobolds, Eek the good. He is here to free you from your bonds and enlist your aid as his royal guard. We will help you smash those dirty humans who think they are better than you…they think they can push us short legs around. We will show them! Are you with us? There will be great rewards for the soldiers and guards of Eek”
The Humans don't notice you. The Kobolds seem skeptical but friendly.
We work for the Dragonlady! One of them replies.
Eek notices that one of them carries a sack (rolled a 12 with disadvantage)
Didn't the Dragonlady order to not take loot? Eek promises to share! All Kobolds share in Eek's glory!
Eek's Deception check (he's not sharing): 18
The Kobolds look at each other, shrug and move to hand over the sack. Eek take the sack and finds that it contains pewter candlesticks, some silver serving dishes, and a few religious carvings of Chauntea.
Eek will add this to the hoard! Some of it will be returned!
The Kobolds seem to accept this and await further instructions.
“So that Kobold can be useful,” Zale thinks to herself. She looks to the others, “Alright, let’s make our way over there,” she points at the rock with the weapons leaning against it. “I’ll try to steal the weapons. If I do, we’ll attack together once I’ve taken them. If I’m seen, then just attack them.”
With that, she starts sneaking towards the side of the rock facing away from the cultists. Once there she will try to take them and sneak back into the bushes.
Zale doesn't make it to the weapons before the Humans spot her.
See Kurt? We aren't the only stragglers! One of them says.
Shut up Wesley! Can't you she came from the other direction? She probably a scout from the r...
At this point Zeminny arrow harmlessly scrapes across Kurt's armor. Eek and his little Kobold army charge forward: Eek doesn't have a ranged weapon (anymore) and the other Kobolds need the 30 ft to get in range for their Slings.

Zeminny will help Eek organize his guys and prepare them to attack the humans.
As a readied action he will fore an arrow into the closest cultist soon as Zale has gotten their weapons or is discovered
This will be the signal for the Eek army to begin their assault. When attacking, Zeminny will shout " protect the queen!"
Attack: 12 Damage: 9
