I had a blast this past Saturday. And let me say again how impressed I was with everyone's role playing skills. You guys are naturals.
I hope you are interested in having another session. If so, let's start scheduling.
The next steps for your characters are to split the loot (everyone loves this part), level up (yes, I was that impressed), and then kick back and wait until our next session.
We can handle the split of loot here, but I would like to spend some time doing the level up because 4th level is an important level. We can handle that during the first hour of our next session.
Here's the loot:
Each of you received the following magic item (I will go ahead and add it to your character's inventory):
Pet Rock (reskinned "hat of wizardry")
Wondrous Item, common (requires attunement by a wizard)
This antiquated, cone-shaped hat is adorned with gold crescent moons and stars. While you are wearing it, you gain the following benefits:
You can use the hat as a spellcasting focus for your wizard spells.
You can try to cast a cantrip that you don’t know. The cantrip must be on the wizard spell list, and you must make a DC 10 Intelligence (Arcana) check. If the check succeeds, you cast the spell. If the check fails, so does the spell, and the action used to cast the spell is wasted. In either case, you can’t use this property again until you finish a long rest.
There was also a ring of spell storing:
Ring, rare (requires attunement)
This ring stores spells cast into it, holding them until the attuned wearer uses them. The ring can store up to 5 levels worth of spells at a time. When found, it contains 1d6 − 1 levels of stored spells chosen by the GM.
Any creature can cast a spell of 1st through 5th level into the ring by touching the ring as the spell is cast. The spell has no effect, other than to be stored in the ring. If the ring can't hold the spell, the spell is expended without effect. The level of the slot used to cast the spell determines how much space it uses.
While wearing this ring, you can cast any spell stored in it. The spell uses the slot level, spell save DC, spell attack bonus, and spellcasting ability of the original caster, but is otherwise treated as if you cast the spell. The spell cast from the ring is no longer stored in it, freeing up space.
The ring has the following spells, ready to cast, from Grool, you pal and benefactor (I think he would say bene-fracture, but that's Grool):
Misty step, Magic missile, and Mirror Image.
There was some discussion about who should get the ring, but I don't think anything was decided. Just let me know who should get it. (If a party can't decide, then we determine by die rolls.)
There was also quite a bit of gold. Since there's a rogue in the party, the split may not quite be even (that's how life is, though, right!):
In one of the cabinets in the office, there is a locked chest containing the trinkets and treasures that locals have used to pay for their tuition to the school: silvered mirror (100gp), pearl ring (100gp), chalice (50gp), a holy symbol of Tymora (25gp), a statue of Maskyr with his missing eye replaced with an emerald (275gp), silver cutlery (50gp), and assorted gems (500gp) and coin (500gp).
In addition, another 50gp per PC will be rewarded by Quill at the end of a successful adventure. And I believe Professor Bonk promised you guys refunds, but it would have come from the above treasure hoard.
Then there's the matter of the intial payment. Theresa took it and hasn't told you guys what's in there. Theresa, let me know what you want to do with that. There's also a scroll in there.
I will also send Nick an email on where to direct the remaining PayPal payment, and I have a note to keep you all updated about the not for profit idea. Any ideas or guidance are certainly welcome.

Here's a link to the overview of my plan to establish a non profit for D&D stuff. Any leads, advice, guidance appreciated. I think one of you mentioned doing something at a school, but I didn't take a note on that.
I wanted to let you all know that I'm planning two weekends of open play (for kids, too! Yes, we will have Dragon Dice!) to celebrate Father's Day. It won't be over Father's Day weekend, though. Rather the weekend before and after July 4th.
How do I select spells? I found the spells but not how to add to my character?
I'll show you tomorrow before we begin.

David - we also had a blast. The four of us need to get together to divvy up the loot and decide on the next campaign. We'll keep you posted.
