Muir stares into the woods, looking, while answering Griff "Well Griff unfortunately we do not. However, you are not the first from a different world to show up. As you can see the Dwarves and their beasts are of this world, or yours....So they must be from yet another world, which is fascinating to me. You mentioned the wind...Is the wind sentient where you come from? I have seen wind here that seems to have a life of its own but I cannot communicate with it....Perhaps you know how?" Muir continues to stare off to the woods wondering
Griff thinks for a moment, and gives an odd sigh, odd in the way that a beak doesn't really allow for a sigh, but a sigh comes from the bird nonetheless, "I must be gathering information, finding way home, directions to nearest place of people sil be helpful, but I will answer questions of my world if you can answer questions of yours, agreement?"
Elthana looks off in the direction Muir is looking at then turns to the others. "So, it appears we are being watched as well. Look over there." she points to a pair of bears, a brown bear in the treeline around 200ft north of the group and a gargantuan white bear that is a bit more difficult to see due to the snow.
After pointing out their onlookers, she turns back to Griff, though further from him than others and does respond, "I'm sure we'll be happy to answer your questions as well." She pulls out her long black pole and swings it around a couple of times, feeling antsy for some reason.
Gewyn clambers up into the coach seat of the carriage and stands tall, looking off towards the two bears in the distance. Without taking his eyes away, he says to Griff, "You are not the first being we've met who is not from around here. You also won't be the first we've aided. I'm sure there's a gate to some sort of elemental plane of air somewhere in this world. Right, Elthana?" He looks down at the top of her head.
Muir smiles and nods Griff "I would be happy to answer any and all questions. We could exchange question for question. I might add it would be best for you to stay with us. One moment though as Elthana says, we are being watched but by the bears I saved in the woods near Hokum. That is an albino bear but not just any. It is the legendary Great White Bear, a guardian of Northmorrah." Muir takes a few steps towards the bears greeting them "Hello friends! I am happy to see you are doing well. I am Muir, a Keeper of these lands. How may I assist you?"
"so, what you wanting to know, is wind sentient in Thaeir, some yes, not all, wind must be made sentient by giantess of storm, the ruler of plane, she is sorceress and grant sentience to elements she control as by product of her magic. She even make gift for lords, like wind animal. So now Griff has question yes? Why does this girl have gift from giantess of storm?" Griff points with the crystal handle of his longbow, very accusingly and directly at Elthana, who is still straddled atop Gust.
As Muir calls out to the bears, the massive white one looks toward the normal sized brown one and gives a huff, at which the brown bear takes one last look at the party and retreats into the treeline and away into the cold winter's night. The massive white bear approaches and stops some 80ft away from the party, at this range tye group can see just how massive this beast is, from the tip of its front paws up to its ears it must be around 35ft tall, and that's not accounting for its body and back legs. The white bear grunts and growls some kind of communication addressing Muir.
"I'm calling fowl on this whole thing," Sam says with a glance towards Harvey.
"Are we befriending those who come from the trees now? When did that change?" he asks nobody in particular. Ok, the dwarf was asking for what he got but at least Sam knew what a dwarf was, even if he didn't recognize it's mount. This bird man is as foreign to him as the faeries and so far he has found no reason to trust it one whit more than them.
Sam turns and walks towards the bears when they are brought to his attention. He's not heading to confront them but just to put himself in the front of the group between his people and them. His extra size has retreated by this point, undoubtedly, but he can always call it forth again if need be. But when Muir calls out to them and takes a few steps forward Sam allows him to take the lead, though he stays close by. He himself certainly wasn't the one to negotiate with bears...
Muir excitedly makes noises that sound similar to bear noises in response to the guardian. When he finishes he turns to the group "All is fine Sam. I am owed a favor for saving the bears. As for Griff here, he was helping us fend off the dwarves. We need to make allies for the storm ahead. Griff here doesn't have a way home. We should treat him as a refuge and provide him with help. So far our conversation has gone well....a one for one. Elthana will answer to the best she can about whatever Griff is asking about and then we get to ask our question"
"I only trying figure out whether you are being royalty or simple common thief!" Griff says to Elthana as she takes herself away from the scene, he then turns to Vin and Gewyn, seeing as though the others have turned their attention toward the bears and their own devices.
"Your group certainly strange, hot temper couple, animal man who talk to animal and raise own enemy. Is chance you two more answerable to questions? Where is nearest city?"
"Call one of us a thief again and I'll be cooking you up for the Feast of Thanks," Sam growls out peering back at the birdman.
"The nearest town is Avianopolis. It's about ten miles south of here," Sam continues, ill-temperedly. "As the crow flies, anyway..."
Sam then looks over to where Elthana has trotted off to. He considers going over to her and... checking on her, he guesses? Making sure she's ok? Truthfully Sam is no good with the feeling stuff and, he suspects, he's part of the reason she's in such a huff. He has no idea why he's part of the reason but he figures it is safe to assume he is. So with a sigh and a shrug, his two signature moves, he turns back to watching Muir interact with the bears.
Griff's feathered brow furrows as Sam growls at him, the bird dismisses his obvious lie before turning back to Vin and Gewyn, "I will give your green friend benefit of doubt as he seems be having relation troubles with girl, but threaten warrior is threat of pride, you should train him respect or animal man will have more dead to raise, no?"
"You want to go, bird brain?" Sam calls out, turning on his heel and walking towards the the overstuffed budgie. "Round these parts it is your kind that get trained to sing for their supper and get kept in little cages. I'll happily knock your feathers into place if you want to keep squawking like that. Brawl or duel, makes no difference to me...."
Muir sitting catching his bearings hears Sam and stands up quickly "NO! Please, I know how to get him home. There's another portal....We cannot harm him and cause their realm to come through and attack...Think this through everyone! Sam, we have killed the dwarves already....who knows if their kind will seek retribution, we know nothing about them. Let us calm down, please.....Elthana your horse has a connection to their world, Sam's seeds open temporary rifts, there's Gewyn's mirror, and Vin....I am not sure what you have, but there are connections much bigger than our egos and diplomacy between people of other worlds.... We have to be smart here. Please everyone......"Muir falls back down onto the rock he was sitting on tired
The bird snapped to Sam as he begins with his threats, but then lets Muir speak... "There, animal man have more sense, not let heart rule head like small child.." Griff glares at Sam through making his point.
"We should make camp! We've lost the light." Iver pipes up as he brings the horses into the now dormant battle field, "that carriage looks like it needs mending before morning, cracked wheel base, wobbly roof, but luckily the reins and tack are still usable, it'll ease our journey" Iver gives a suspicious glance to Griff as he slides off his horse and clutches his sides.
“‘Threaten warrior is threat of pride’ eh?” Sam quotes back at the bird. “So you’re no warrior? Or is it pride you lack?”
“I understand you wanting to walk back your threat but you’ll have to apologize for your words to do so. I am no animal to be trained and I’ll get satisfaction from any who suggest I am,” Sam says as he continues to walk towards the hollow boned big mouth.
Muir steps in front of Sam “Please don’t do this. We’ve killed two duergar and don’t know if they were important to their realm. Griff here is missing and is important to his realm. If he dies here it could cause a major incident between worlds. We have to return him and hope that they become Allie’s not enemies. Think of our realm at large….We will need Allie’s and friends if these worlds continue to collide….”

She turns her horse in a huff and glares at Muir, "I don't have to answer for anyone."
And as she storms off, she stares daggers at Gewyn.
She doesn't go far, edge of the clearing really and dismounts. Then climbs the nearest tree and tries to calm down.
"I only trying figure out whether you are being royalty or simple common thief!" Griff says to Elthana as she takes herself away from the scene, he then turns to Vin and Gewyn, seeing as though the others have turned their attention toward the bears and their own devices.
