Sam Con save vs Poisoned for starting round near Wraith: 6+6 for 12. Using Bardic Inspiration so now 12+5 for 17 and a save vs poisoned. Sam Con save bs Necrotic Wave: 10+6 for 16, takes the success damage...
Sam looks left. Sam looks right. No wraiths left. But there is still fighting above... If the ceiling is within 30' then Sam uses his Mold Earth to create a 5' cube hole in the ceiling / the floor above. He is hoping it is less than 5' thick and he can create a hole there through which he can maybe boost someone up to so they can climb up and help Vin and Griff...
"Anyone need a boost?" he is asking while something zings up past their level, fling up and up and even higher up... "What the f...?"
A solid 5ft cube of crystal slams onto the floor leaving a hole above, Sam is able to stand on the 5ft block, adding his own enlarged size to the distance between the floor and the ceiling (20ft) he is able to give enough height to anyone wanting to be boosted up to help. Vin out, (no roll required to ascend but movement and action to climb us going to be necessary here)
Vin flies around Griff and the wraith watching for an opening, but staying far enough away to avoid any harm. He briefly contemplates changing tactic, but his blasts of eldritch energy seem to be effective.
"Persistent aren't they? Let me try again. Incoming Griff", he says before sending two more blasts at the wraith.
Neferox's gaze follows the path of the large winged creature as it flies past, before her attention turns back to Vin. She growls in frustration at not being able to help him, but does not attempt to claim up through the hole Sam made.
Muir feels the whoosh of air as the bird carrying kobold fly by him. He quickly sticks his trunk out to see if there's a scent from above or below...are they fleeing or escaping, he wonders....."We should finish here continue to move down." Unable to see above, he continues down to the floor level
Elthana looks at what Sam did to the crystal, impressed. "Thanks Sam, but I got this."
And as the words leave her mouth, the shadow elf disappears in the shadow and reappears on the floor above. This teleportation isn't as fancy as the one he's seen her do before, with the traces of ravens surrounding her body, but it appeared to do the trick.
Looking for the wraith, Elthana heads straight for the creature that is now wrapped around Griff.
Elthana apparates next to the wraith just as it begins squeezing on Griff once more, her arcane fuelled strike hits dead center on this ragged wraith and it begins to crumple. Griff hits the floor and takes a sharp intake of breath as the wraith above him curls in on itself and begins to dissolve into ash and dust like the others.
(Combat is over, for now, all poison effects from the wraiths now drop)
Muir in his attempt to descend quickly us faced with the same problem as before, he ties a rope off onto a stalagmite and as the rest of the group finish fighting, Muir us squeezing between two spikes and making his way to the floor below. The darkness begins to become an issue for Muir, the loxodon himself lacking any natural ability to see without light (unless I'm mistaken)
Elthana sees that Vin is ok and breathes a small sigh of relief. Before heading over to Griff she responds, "Yeah, a large bird. Appeared to be carrying some passengers? Not sure what to make of that."
She walks over to Griff and squats down. "You alright?"
"No, that wasn't what I meant, Elthana. Although Nef did see that too", Vin replies.
"I meant did you see what happened to that wraith just before it died. Something came and harvested a piece of it. It was kind of vulture like, but instead of feathers it had dried and cracked skin jutting out. It was like death and decay incarnate", he explains a little agitated that she hadn't seen it too.
Elthana freezes as she hears this. "You saw what? No... I saw nothing of the sort, do you think it has anything to do with the fact you died recently?" The description sent a shiver down her back, but the agitation she detects in his voice worries her a bit as well.
Griff lays flat on his back looking at the ceiling, he stretches his arms out to his sides for a moment, just taking in the calm after the panic, he then bursts out laughing "I am ok, thanking you I am." He gets up and sheathes his sword once more, "I have not been having need to fight like that in a while, how is everyone else doing? I am thinking my wing will recover nicely, if given a moment... We should be getting down to the others, yes?"
He listens to vin's concern, "I am being confused, vulture like with skin, was this a feathered or flesh creature? Are you sure you were not seeing things?"
Sam, seeing Muir in a rush to descend, lights a torch and attempts to toss it down to the next level both to illuminate the way for Muir but also to see if anything is down there waiting to surprise them. Success or fail on his tossing the lit torch (Umm, Dex roll? 18) Sam then helps Muir with the rope and the climbing down. "What's the hurry?" Sam asks. "Little guys all seem to have flow up up and away." Once everyone else is ready to climb or move down then Sam will too, of course... Though he does ask if everyone think perhaps they could afford a short rest.
The sound of draconic urgency still echoes upward faintly, along with the cawing of several birds. It seem that there is a rush many floors below to organise for the groups arrival.
Muir shouts up as he descends the rope and attempts to dodge the torch hurled towards or maybe at...does Muir really know...shouts up "There are more voices coming from below. The bird was carrying Kobolds and there are more below. The air that whoosed up was fresh air...this seems to be the right track" As Muir gets to the bottom he looks around, seeing molds and mosses, he takes some time to harvest them and put them in his belongings, while waiting for the others.
((Sam would wait maybe half a minute before climbing down so as to shrink back down to normal size... Could be awkward if it happened while he was climbing a rope...))
Gewyn taps his chin. "The mysteries continue to compound. I suppose it is time we get to... the bottom of it." And he points down the hole wryly before preparing to follow the others down

Vin turn details in below spoiler:
Action: Eldritch Blast wraith grappling Griff.
Blast 1 - To Hit: 18+8=26, Damage: 8+5=13 [force]
Blast 2 - To Hit: 1+8=9
Neferox's gaze follows the path of the large winged creature as it flies past, before her attention turns back to Vin. She growls in frustration at not being able to help him, but does not attempt to claim up through the hole Sam made.
((I KNEW Nef was a wimp!! lol))
Gewyn runs over to retrieve his fallen dagger, and then takes Sam up on his offer for a boost, calling out, "Hang in there Griff!"
(Bardic Inspiration to Griff)

Attack: 17, Dam: 11
Her second attack goes wide..

Vin flies down to hover next to Elthana with a little bit of a wide eyed expression, "Did you see that?"
"Just as the wraith was destroyed?", he clarifies before looking over to the prone form of Griff.
"Oh, right. You ok Griff? Need a hand up?", he enquires a little distractedly as he waits for Elthana to answer.
Elthana sees that Vin is ok and breathes a small sigh of relief. Before heading over to Griff she responds, "Yeah, a large bird. Appeared to be carrying some passengers? Not sure what to make of that."

He shivers, "It looked at me with hollow eyes".

Listening to the questions of both Elthana and Griff, all Vin can do is shrug.
"I don't know. Maybe", he replies to both of them. "It was very real, it looked like a feathered creature, but it was skin. It was...horrible".
"Maybe we should get back to the others, stick together".
Muir shouts up as he descends the rope and attempts to dodge the torch hurled towards or maybe at...does Muir really know...shouts up "There are more voices coming from below.
