Here's a bad idea, Gewyn thinks to himself. He looks at the prone wight and leaps toward it. Midway through the air, he vanishes in a swirl of mist, only to reappear next to its body with his sword ready to thrust downwards. He thrusts it down at the creature's eye socket.
Vin's blasts both hit the shadow wrapped skeletal creature but dont seem too devastating.
Gewyns blade sinks into the Wight's eye and the thing seems dead for s plit secong before it suddenly opens it's remaing eye with a howl.
Serafina shakes off her stun.
Griff turns to where vin has sequesterd himself and flies full speed toward Vin, (full dash action) once ther he shakes his gead cocfused as to what just came over him and turns to survey the fighting.
The second Shadow wrapped skeletal creature opens it's empty jawbone and lets out a howling babble, stunning Serafina and Elthana once again. before backing up and floating over to the left side of the portal. (11 psychic damage to Serafina and Elthana, 5 psychic damage to Sam, Neferox, Gewyn)
The first creature whispers words of compulsion into Sam and Neferox's minds (DC 14 WIS save or take 16 psychic damage and use reaction to make one melee attack against an ally, Sam attack Elthana with advantage, Nef attack Serafina with advantage, On a save nothing happens) the shadow creature then floats back over the thorns and toward Gewyn helping its Wight companion by flanking the bard.
That particular wight stands up and lashes out at Gewyn with it's own sword. (Crit! 24 to hit, 15 slashing damage) and as its sword bites into Gewyn's houlder, It's other hand rises to touch Gewyns face (12 to hit) but the swing and the lack of recouperation from the fall had unbalanced it and it's life draining tough misses.
The zombies to the Left of the portal finally leave the area of thorns and slowly drag their bleeding feet toward the party, One approaches Neferox and slams at her, (19 to hit, 5 bludgeoning). The second does the same but to Serafina (16 to hit) but even whilst stunned her armour protects her. the last dashes to Neferox but with all of it's energy expended on running it simply drools at her in anger.
The zombies on the opposite side, now lacking in a Maka to attack turn their attention toward the group too, The first heading directly to Elthana and taking advantage of her stunned self, It slams at her (21 to hit, 4 bludgeoning) the second heads to Sam, (7 to hit) failing in its attempt miserably.
The second wight who had disengaged from the fighting last round now sees an opening and heads toward Sam, dancing around the Half Orc it positions itself with sam sandwiched between it and the attacking zombie, It too lashes out with it's longsword, (15 to hit) it growls in frustration at Sams stoneskin and forgoes it's life drain attack to slash with the longsword again, (20 to hit, 3 slashing damage)
The shadow looming over Muir makes another attack with its inky tendril, (8 to hit) but misses by a mile. It then begins it's dance of flickering in place along with the other shadows in the room making it difficult to perceive or hit. (BA hide, 15 perception to hit without disadvantage)
Finally the zombie felled at Serafina's feet stirs and picks itself up, It regards it's target with a rasping chuckle and slams into her stunned form, (21 to hit, 6 bludgeoning)
Sam vs Compulsion: Nat 20 for 22 - Sam is not compelled or brain injured. This time.
Sam sees the shadowy skeleton howl again and grits his teeth and fights against it. He feels the sound in the back of his teeth and the center of his brain and it itches in a most annoying way but he grits his way through the worst of it. (5 psychic dam taken) Then there is the whispering... It is like a barbed worm that wriggles in through his ears and tries to wrap itself into the pudding that is Sam's brain. He feels them wriggling in there, nesting... getting comfortable and telling him what to do... Telling him to... Hurt Elthana? What? Sam chuckles and shakes his head. Silly brain worms, that shit ain't happening.
That wasn't the end of it though. More want a piece of Sam and he can't help but grin at the though of the squishies surging forward and bringing the fight to him. "Come on then!" he says and readies his maul. The zombie barely bumps into him. The wight's sword clitter-clacks but for all the good it does he should have just left that thing at home... (hit's damage halved due to stoneskin.) Sam is ready for violence but takes a moment to survey the room a bit before he begins... But then the maul be a swinging for the fences.
((Sam attacks first the zombie in melee with both Elthana and himself until it falls. He then steps upon the body and attacks the other zombie adjacent to Elthana - Allowing Wight an opportunity attack as he moves out of it's melee to do so. If Sam happens to drop both zombies in a single blow then the third blow is against that Wight, Sam moving back into position to attack... And in fact will move back to his original spot whether he felled both zombie or not, wanting to be between the wight and Elthana...))
First Maul Attack: 12 to hit for 22 magical bludgeoning damage plus 3 extra damage due to Giant's Might Second Maul Attack: 20 to hit for 26 magical bludgeoning damage Third Maul Attack: 17 to hit for 17 magical bludgeoning damage
IF Sam does move on to the second zombie at some point, and if he hits it, he uses his Crusher Feat to move it 5' west, which I believe shoves it back into the Spike Growth and forces more damage upon it...
IF Sam does kill both zombies with one blow and goes back to the wight, and if the 17 on the third swing hits, then Sam would use his Fire Rune against the wight as well which inflicts an additional 11 fire damage to it and it needs make a DC 14 Strength Save or be restrained for 1 minute, taking an additional 2d6 fire damage at the start of each turn and repeating the save at the end of it's turn.
Muir whips out at the shadow spawn that tried to hide from him (16 hit 9 damage) and yanks it back towards him if it tried to move away. Seeing his companions hit and hit frequently, Muir begins to shine brightly with chalices all over his body.
Neferox feels the compulsion start to take hold in her mind, shaking her head as if it is insect in her ear that she can rid herself off. With a low rumbling growl, she resists the urge, just as she takes a wallop from a Zombie. Fortunately, she doesn't suffer as much as most to such a hit, although she is almost succumbing to all her wounds, so hurt is she.
Vin jumps up, realising something is wrong. He dips into the magic stored in his ring, and consumes what corrupted form of life the Zombies possess, channeling their life force into Neferox. He then ducks back down, throwing Griff a questioning glance.
To be continued...

(OOC: Will continue this turn after the results of the Wither and Bloom and Sam's turn)
Sam absolutely smashes the first zombie to a pulp with no chance for it to possibly revive. Moving away from the wight it stabs out (20 to hit, 9 slashing) the second zombie is also smothered to paste, and Sam turns on the wight. His maul finds it's mark, bloodying the wight and the fiery chains latch on, it resists but cannot free itself.
Muir's attack latches onto the shadow, holding it in place and bringing it out of its hiding, it begins to flicker out but manages to remain steadfast for now.
Vin's wither and bloom catches all four zombies surrounding neferox and the stunned serafina, those who had revived crumble, not to return, only one of them falls dead but retains it's form. (Out of combat, possibility to revive next round)
As the life force of the now fallen zombies infuse her, Neferox starts to look a little healthier, and her eyes come to rest on the hovering creature that had tried to compel her. A growl escapes her throat as she charges across, closing the distance whilst avoiding the spikes.
She snaps her large jaws at it twice, trying to bring it down.
Neferox
Movement: Over to the hovering creature to the left of the portal, putting it between her and the spike growth. Once again, Gewyn twists the energies around him and the wight, knocking it's brutal attack slightly off course (silvery barbs on the crit). Still feeling hurt though, bleeding from a number of small wounds, Gewyn decides not to push his luck. He makes another attack at the wight with his sword before puffing into mist once more and reappearing behind the skull of the dragon. Then he starts to move further away, weaving through the ribs.
Neferox moving to the skeltal shadow wrapped creature, takes a chunk out of it and it's shadows begin to thin (bloodied).
Gewyn having more success with running away manages to strike down the wight that attacked him and make his escape.
Serafina shakes off her stun.
Griff sees the sees Muir struggling with the shadow and swoops down landing behind the other pillar, he lashes out with what looks like a summoned whip made of lightning and attempts to drag the shadow toward himself, (str check from shadow 0, takes 2 lightning dam) Griff then unsheathes his sword and swipes at the thing, (14 to hit, 12 slashing) the shadow dissapates visibly unlike it's shadowy companios who died in the darkness. "not being many left!" the aarakocra shouts out attempting to encourage the group.
The Allip (Skeletal shadow wrapped creature) left behind by Gewyn, regaining it's ability to shout, floats up between Elthana and Serafina, unleashing it's Howling babble once more, the shriek pierces the minds of Elthana, Serafina, Sam, Griff, Muir and Neferox (Make a DC 14 WIS save, take 9 psychic damage and become stunned until the end of your next turn, $ psychic and no stun on save)
Both Griff and Serafina hold their heads and become unable to move.
The Allip (Skeletal shadow wrapped creature) now in melee with Neferox lashes out at her with a shadow wrapped hand, It gestures at her but does not touch as it casts some kind of attack directly into her head, (8 to hit, 18 psychic damage I know it misses I just wanted to know how lucky Nef just got)
Sam now stunned (nat 1 save) is attacked twice by the Wight in melee with him, once with its longsword (5 to hit, 6 slashing) and then reaches out it's hand to drain Sam's life essence, (14 to hit) but misses drastically as the fiery shackles burn into it (5 dam) and then dissipate as it breaks free (19 str save).
The final zombie able to pick itself back up does so (20 con on undead fortitude) It struggles to its feet and wanders up to the closest hostile, Serafina, It slams at her stunned form (crit 23 to hit, 7 bludgeoning)
Elthana turns to the shadow creature that howled next to her. Able to finally be released of the howl, the psychic damage still affects her and she shakes her head, blood running out of her nose.
She again attacks with her eldritch maul..
Attack: 15, Damage: 7+6
Attack: 23, Damage: 9+1
After being stunned for two rounds, she focuses her ki for a flurry of blows...
Neferox once again feels the pain of the stage howl that threatens to disorient her to the point she cannot act, but manages to fight it off.
Peering over the edge of shrine, Vin sees the state of play, aiming a pair of blasts at the shadow wrapped creature by Neferox and utilising his Hunter's Coat to try and finish it off. He is relieved to see her still standing, and hopes to allow her to move to safety, although he knows her well enough that he expects her to seek out the next target rather than hide.
He ducks back out of sight and looks up hoping to see Lumithor returning.
Neferox waits to see if the creature falls...

Neferox
Wisdom Save: (5, 18)+1=19 (Success against Stunned)
Elthana's attacks pummel the crap out of the Allip and it's form begins to thin and dissipate, but enough of it remains to keep attacking.
As vin sends his blasts out they rock the allip next to Ned and this one does vanish, the shadows making up it's form unravelling like a frayed sweater and it's bones clatter lifelessly to the ground.
As the skeletal shadow draped figure babbles out it's nonsense once more it finally finds purchase in the wee small brain of Sam Hall. Grabbing his head, Sam's maul goes clanking to the floor at his feet. The wight Sam had been intent on destroying is still shackled in fiery restraints, however, and it is barely even able to try to attack Sam nonetheless be successful. In his stunned state Sam cannot even do that much... So he just drools a little bit and waits.
Gewyn starts to work his way around the battlefield, emerging from the dragon skeleton with a ball of iron bands in hand. Passing by Vin and approaching Sam, he hurls the ball and shouts its command phrase, causing it to unravel and expand right before hitting the zombie by Serafina. The bands flex as they prepare to wrap around the approaching enemy.
Attack: 21 (Burned inspiration for advantage)
Restrained if hit until it uses an action to make a strength save of 20
Muir trying to do his best to keep his friends alive (Sorry Nef) casts healing word on Sam. As Muir casts this spell a chalice appears over Sam's head, pouring a golden shower of healing over top of him (figuratively speaking). He casts thorn whip at whatever is attacking Sam and yanks it away (16 hit 8 dam)
Neferox growls at the place the shadow wrapped creature had been but a moment before, and then turns her large head towards the other remaining foes. With a leap she set off towards the now restrained Zombie, her jaws clamping over it's head as she attempts to bite it clean off.
And then she tries to get passed it, climbing across it's inanimate corpse to get to the other creature that can invade her mind.
She snaps at this one too, using the threat of Elthana on its other side to her advantage.
She then stands panting a little and waiting for what is to come next, a low growl still emanation from her throat and her lips turned up in a snarl that bares her teeth.
Neferox
Movement: Over to the Zombie restrained by Gewyn. Action: Multi-attack bite part 1 Bite 1 - Attack (Advantage due to restrained): (11, 4)+4=15, Damage: 4+1+3=8 [piercing] - if hit it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. Movement: Moves by the final shadow wrapped creature, flanking with Elthana Action: Multi-attack bite part 2 Bite 2 - Attack (Advantage due to flanking): (8, 14)+4=18, Damage: 1+3+3=7 [piercing] - if hit it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone. Special: Shield of Faith - AC +2
Muir's thorn whip hits the wight, but the only thing Muir is able to drag towards him is a limp body, the wight has ceased to be.
Neferox tears through the zombie next to Serafina and moves on before it's iron bound body even hits the floor. Gnashing out at the allip in the center of the group, Her teeth pass through the shadows once more, not dealing as much damage as she would have hoped or expected. But despite it's resistances the creature succumbs to the damage nonetheless, similarly to the last one the shadows dissipate and it's lifeless bones clatter to the ground.
Serafina shakes off her stun.
As does Sam at the end of his turn.
Griff stands for a moment his stun also worn off, his sword still in his hand, he flies up to rejoin Vin upon the shrine acting as over watch.
No hostiles remain. But there is also no sign of Lumithor's return.
"This is fun!" he says a bit more loudly, more energetically.
"Alright, let's get to it. We should be expecting another wave like last time so not much time to putz around, eh?" he continues, marshaling the troops. "Everyone take up positions. But here, Gewyn! Take this end here and tie it off wherever you can on that side of the portal," Sam calls out as he tosses an end of a rope across the spike growth field. "Right about shin height, eh? If they come rushing through then perhaps we can trip a few of them up..." Even as he's instructing Gewyn (or anyone on the right hand side of the portal) to tie off the rope to try to trip their foes, Sam does the same on the left side, his maul by his side within reach at all times.
Even as Sam is quickly tying his rope he feels himself... shimmering, for lack of a better word. He feels his runic magics starting to be itching and about to fail. Sam take a moment to close his eyes and grunt, his hand going to the runes upon his armor. And with that Sam re-ups his Giant's Might, renewing it in preparation for the coming battle.
"Or should we tale the battle to them?" Sam asks once the preparations are done and he is positioning himself on the left hand side of the portal, just outside the spike growth. "Cross into their realm and hit them before they are ready?"
Elthana wipes some blood from her wounds and brushes some of her hair out of her eyes and looks over at Sam, "Trying to rally us? When is this dragon of yours coming back?! I'm not sure how much longer we can hold this." As Sam mentions crossing into the other realm, Elthana looks over at Serafina to see her reaction
She readies her eldritch maul to attack the next enemy that comes out of the portal.

Elthana hears the howl and is immediately stunned. She is able to crack a smile at Muir's ingenious way to get the wights to come down.

Wisdom Save: (
5, 18)+1=19 (Success against Stunned)Elthana's attacks pummel the crap out of the Allip and it's form begins to thin and dissipate, but enough of it remains to keep attacking.

Everyone is up!
"Fun," Sam says gruffly.
