Frustrated that the man is staying invisible, Elthana attacks the same spot again. Missing for sure the second time.
Using her bonus action, she calls forth the ink on her eldritch tattoo… waiting for the Goliath to show himself. “cool trick. Now are you man enough to actually face me?”
The funnel of wind still buffeting down upon her Elthana hears Sam's mastiff behind her as it runs up to a spot and starts barking, that is until it gets caught up in the wind and is sent stumbling back 15ft (Elthana gets the help action for her next attack.)
"This ain't about how 'manly' I am, it's all about showin' off the cool tricks, hehe." Comes Hog's disembodied voice, before a cone of cold springs forth from a bit of light that shines just above where hog was standing. The cold whips around and catches Elthana, Sam, the mastiff, and Gewyn in its grasps, (make a DC 15 con save or take 34 cold damage, 17 on a successful save)
Sam gets what is effectively a blizzard thrown in his face and is knocked ass over tit considering how unexpectedly he was attacked and all. Shaking his head to clear it of what felt like tons of ice and snow Sam quickly looked around but knew without doing so... His animals were gone. Killed by this Hog's spell.
Climbing to his feet Sam felt the anger rising inside him, felt the instinct to smash well up. Rage. Hot. Furious. Red. Boiling. Bonecracking. Rending. Tearing. Erupting. RAGE.
Sam climbs to his feet. "How's ya, Gewyn?" he asks casually, showing concern for his teammate but his eyes never leaving Hog.
Gewyn doesn't respond. He doesn't even move. Instead he just sits there, no longer playing, until he slowly starts to tip over, body totally stiff. He hits the ground with a thud, half frozen and fully unconscious. (First death save fails)
As Muir sits he sees Gewyn fall to the ground unconscious. "I will take him inside and bring him to and come back that the rest of you are still standing."Muir says this loud enough to keep from getting whacked with something during the fight. He picks up Gewyn and heads inside
"the cold came from the staff, so does this!" Calls hogs voice. Three notes of energy starts swirling in the air, some members of the group would recognise them as the magic missile spell, they all dart with expert precision towards Elthana but just before they hit her they dive to the floor, exploding the ground around her feet.
Vin is really impressed with the staff and its versatile functions. Or perhaps a combination of items Hog has? Either way the fight has been entertaining so far. Nef seems eager to join but seems to be resisting for now. Her red eyes darting as folks fight around as the pair watches. He already has a knack for being invisible but the spells infused in the staff could be really useful in the right situations. Vin can't help but wonder if he makes custom at request items as well.
"Impressive" Elthana retorts at the missiles landing at her feet. Sending out her inky tendrils towards his voice, she attacks him once more. With her first hit, she spends a ki point to stun the man, and then is able to hit him again. She goes too low for her last hit and misses.
Feeling the cold around her a little more, she looks to Sam and Vin to see if they want to join in. She smirks a bit and says to them, "C'mon, this is fun. A little sparring is good for the soul. Plus, he's stunned for the moment."
Sam gives out a bit of a snort in reply to Elthana and a nod of his head. As he takes his first step forward to close the distance between himself and where Hog seems to be Sam takes in a deep breath… and as he inhales he seems to grow. Sam basically doubles in height and width, as does his equipment as evidence of the large ass maul he is eagerly choking up on and preparing to swing. And once he closes the distance, swing he does! He doesn’t try to get fancy, just brutal…
First Attack: 28To hit for23 Damage plus an extra 4 from Giant’s Might. So 27 total…
Second Attack:16 To hit for0 Damage as that misses…
If either of those attacks hit Sam invokes his Fire Rune to do an extra 2d6 (9) damage and Hog mustmake a DC 14 Saving Throw or be restrained for 1 minute. While restrained by the shackles, the target takes 2d6 fire damage at the start of each of its turns. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, banishing the shackles on a success.
“Not sure that’ll teach him to play nice with animals…or bystanders,” Sam says, cracks his neck back and forth, then Action Surges so he can attack some more…
Third attack:15 To hit for0 Damage as it misses…
“Screw this!” Sam says, annoyed that he keeps missing, and takes a hand off his maul and goes for a grapple with his last attack…
Sam misses all but one swing and feels his runes burn in activation, even though the invisible man is already restrained Sam grapples the guy, which looks very interesting as he holds fast nothing visibly under his arms.
Seeing Sam hang off of Hog presumably, is such a funny sight, that Elthana doubles over in laughter. "Alright, Sam. We've got him. How about we let him go, he turns back to being visible and see what else he has to show us? Hmm? That is the point of this correct?" Still chuckling she waits to see what Sam says.
Sam grunts and shrugs. Dropping his mace he uses his free hand to try to pickpocket the invisible but immobile Hog as Sam Carrie’s him over to the well… And drops him in.
Sleight of Hand? 11 (with adv! Damn I cannot roll…)
Once Sam hears the splash he’ll release the fire rune… if he can? (Doesn’t state he can so maybe not?)
Sam tries to pat down the invisible man but meets nothing but cloth and flesh, taking him on over to the well, Sam drops the heavy mass that is Hog. But the well just seems to shudder as stone dust bursts off of it, the bucket on the side is knocked off and there is silence.
“That’s it,” Sam says after dumping Hog across the well. Well, as far as he can tell. Hog is invisible and all. Still.
“Fight’s over. No more live fire demonstrations if you can’t even control who you hit. And kill,” Sam adds. “Damn good thing you took to crafting instead of going out in the field. Tricky enough not dying to things trying to kill you none the less having jokers just spraying shit all recklessly and all,”
Sam dusts off his hands and looks around to see if there was any damage done to the new house or anything. Once he’s satisfied Hog only hurts animals and people he clears his throat then says “Maybe you just tell us how your stuff works from now on, eh? Safer for all that way.”
As the stun and incapacitation wear off, there is a grunting and a movement from just above the well, after a moment Hog becomes visible once more, it becoming apparent that he has taken his hood down by use of throwing his head back and forth. The lower half of his body along with his arms, up just past the elbow, have become stuck in the well , only his shoulders and head remain topside as he wiggles and struggles, "yeah sorry about that, I did bring along healing potions just in case something like that happened... I'm sorry I didn't realise that your animals would just vanish, what's with that by the way, they're summoned creatures right? Is there any way to re-summon them?" He wiggles some more, "oh hang on I've still got the staff, lets see if I can..." the staff, which is also crammed in with him and half poking out of the well, glows for a moment and Hog casts levitate on himself, sliding up and out of the well, his legs swinging in the breeze, and then he starts to spin, slowly, the weight of his large torso unbalancing him as he swims in the air uselessly trying to self right, a moment later he is completely upside down, his cloak hanging from his shoulders and flapping in front of his face, "uhhh can I get a little help? Just drag me over solid ground please!"
Inside Muir does find three vials of superior healing next to hog's odd bag.
Sam is away from the well, leaning against the side of the stables, watching Hog right himself with some amusement but a frown cemented in place. "Healing potions erase the pain and suffering one experienced to?" he asks in a gruff.
"The animals are animals," he answers helpfully. "What I know about magic hows and such? Just three a day. Random. Though the ones I get I keep getting, eh? When I get a dog it's always the same dog. The owl is always the same owl. But I can't choose which..."
"Anyway. You can turn invisible. Impressive enough. Can randomly through a blizzard around? Interesting. Float helplessly... Less impressive, perhaps. There more you want to tell us about or should we drag you around to show you where your room would be and all?"

Muir takes a few steps back away from the action. “No sense of getting caught up in the cold now” and takes a seat on a stump a little further away.

Stiffening herself against the cold blast, Elthana attempts to hit Hog again.
She strikes out with her attacks, but even with the assistance from Sam's mastiff, she misses the man each time.
