Vin looks to Elthana as well, and particularly notes the bag she is holding, which is their only way of getting the dragon bone back to their plane.
"Neferox and I will stick with you Elthana. No point us getting there if you do not. We wouldn't be able to get the bone to where it needs to be anyway", he says finally.
"But... but..." Sam responds while literally scratching his head. "Sergor said less than a day. His time, we imagine. And a day is over quicker over there so we have less than that over here, no?" All this timey-whimey wibbley-wobbley stuff makes his brain hurt.
"Whatever, let's just get it done..."
"Splitting up doesn't double our odds as the only group that matters is the group with the bag. I don't think we have a way back ourselves in time so we need to send the bone, if we get it, through the bag," Sam thinks aloud to everyone. "So we should go as one group to protect to bag bearer and so someone else can pick it up and carry on if need be..."
"But it won't need be," Sam says assuringly looking to Elthana.
"Lightning it is" Serafina agrees, rolling up her map. She then says something Auran to Ömertyr, who in turn nods, claps Sam on the shoulder saying something in giant and then leaves you all to it.
"Is there any preparations or any items you need before we leave?" Serafina asks "if so a quick stop by the trade square is possible."
Sam responds in Giant to Ömertyr and gives him a solemn nod as he leaves the room.
"Preparation?" Sam asks. "Perhaps a spare change of underclothes for young Vin here?" Immediately after saying the joke Sam recalls Vin's recent... experience... and he instantly regrets it. "No, sorry. I think we have all we need unless there is a way to prepare for such a thing that you know of that we would not?"
Elthana waits as the others discuss their route, "Yes, let's go. Quickest way possible and no, I don't have any items I need to get.. I don't think so anyways? Not exactly sure now to prepare for this." Recalling that lightning was how Griff fought, she turns to him, "Unless you know of something we should have onhand as we go?"
"You can never have too many underclothes", Vin replies to Sam. "Although I think I can make do until we get back home".
He looks to Griff to see if he has any suggestions after being asked by Elthana, but other than that he appears ready to leave. Neferox also seems eager to get moving.
Gewyn sighs and scratches his head. "Okay. You know what?"He brightens up. "Dodging lightning makes for a better song anyway. As far as items... A potion of Not Being Struck By Lightning would be great. Let's see what this trade square has for us!"
Griff shakes his head at Elthana's question but does look over to his crystal longbow that Sam still has hold of.
The group move out and head to the market, descending from the top of the largest shard and into the city below, most buildings in this part of the isle look well kept, well maintained but when a crystal cracks it is difficult to mend without those cracks showing through. It is the same for the buildings that surround you, obvious Successful attempts to fix what used to be broken and cracked, but the destruction of the shattering shows through everywhere.
The market square is calm, "it is near night here though I'm told in your realm the sky darkens when that happens, here it does not" Serafina states, gesturing around the near empty square. There are shops within buildings and temporary stalls outside, and though some attendants look like they may be packing up, others look at the group with eager eyes ready to trade.
Gewyn browses the stalls and finds himself a clothing stand. Filtering through different kinds of fabric he seems to find what he is looking for a thick bucket hat and matching boots which seem to be completely moisture proof, but he feels the potential in them, the stall owner a sheepish looking kobold says something in auran to Gewyn, and cocks it's head questioningly. "They say it's unprocessed hafgufa leather, it'll won't let moisture in or out, they're asking if you're interested, bear in mind your gold won't work here, trade only." Serafina helpfully translates as she approaches seeing Gewyn's interest.
"Okay, Serafina, you know how things work around here a bit better than I do..."Gewyn turns his back to the stall owner to confer with Serafina. He discretely pulls out the corner of the fabric he'd acquired in the previous market made from fine feather strands. "How much of this would be considered a good trade without the kobold over there feeling slighted or ripped off?"
He watches her face carefully, waiting for a response. He would love to have some left over for his own projects, and so is wary of getting taken advantage of, but also recognizes the value of goodwill.
Serafina looks at the fabric Gewyn is showing her and feels it between her fingers, she counts the folds in the roll and calculates how much Gewyn has there, "Its very good quality, I'd say a third is fair, give me a moment..." She speaks in auran to the stall owner who grunts back a response and holds their hands out to see, Serafina raises her voice a little as Gewyn brings the cloth out pointing out the fibers and apparently attempting to help Gewyn persuade the kobold. (Nat 20 persuasion with help action from Serafina)
As the kobold feels the fabric and notes it's finery, they give a smile and a nod chirping back something to the elder "A third is more than enough, they are very happy with the trade and have offered to throw in an old ring that they have" Serafina says clearing up any confusion and letting Gewyn close the trade.
Gewyn gives the kobold a warm smile and offers a hand for an energetic shake. "Tell them that makes two of us who are happy with the trade. And as for you, thank you very much for your assistance."
Gewyn walks back to the group, getting a better look at the ring while trying to figure out if there is a way to make the leather clothes look halfway fashionable.
Sam is more than happy to re-equip Griff with his weapons if he asks but if it's just Griff looking longingly in the long bow's direction Sam probably doesn't notice. He is a bit obtuse at times.
In the market area Sam is not looking for anything in particular at all. He does keep an eye out for any place that may be selling potions, healing potions specifically as Sam knows those exist but isn't exactly well versed on what other kinds may be around... But he's not really counting on these people having such things anyway. He also keeps an eye out for anyplace selling weapons. Once again he's not looking for anything in particular but he does admire a well crafted weapon... And he does not mind having a couple extra handaxes available to chuck at something or such.
But mostly Sam confirms that his bag does once again have three balls of fur in it though he resists the temptation to pull any of them out... He's not exactly sure how they are getting to their secondary location but he has the feeling it may not be all that easy for critters so perhaps best wait til they are needed. Further, Sam would find a central place to sit for a bit while the others are shopping and pull out the ring that Hog had sent to him while they were riding the birds. Sam hadn't had a chance to really examine it mid-flight, probably a good thing since they were soon after attacked... But Sam studies it now and tries to figure out just what Hog had in mind with it. Sam figures well enough that Hog carved it from some of the Chimera bone Sam sent him back after that fight but he isn't quite sure what, if anything, it does.. Is Hog just showing off his jewelry making skills? Idly Sam carves the Cloud Rune his is familiar into the face where the seal on a signet ring would be...
Neferox leads Vin over to a storefront and he pets her thankfully.
"It seems this shop likely sells potions and other magics", he says to those of the group who are in earshot, before popping his head inside to take a look. The thought occurs that he might need a translator, but he decides to see what is in the shop before disturbing Serafina.
As vin enters the dimly lit shop there is a viscous mist of some arcane perfume that hangs thick in the air, choking his senses as he sees a blue tinged head bobbing bout behind the counter top.as his presence is noted the he'd turns to face him and shouts over a greeting in Auran. Then climbing up a step stool he sees an almost entirely blue dwarf person with wispy hair which defies the gravity of its surroundings. The blue dwarf kind gestures to lists hanging up on the walls of the customer area written inna language vin doesn't understand and then happily the dwarf goes back behind the counter where they continue doing whatever it is they were busy with.
Outside as Sam sits and carves he notes that something is wrong. The rune he sets into the face of the ring doesn't pull on the little arcane power that Sam has access to, he compares it to the rune on his armour and makes sure the lines and the intention is all correct, and it is. By now a rune carved hundreds of time is like muscle memory to him but on this ring, at this time, something isn't working... As he rubs the face of the bone to clear away the shavings, the rune is already fading.
Muir looks about pointing out items that the others may be interested in with his keen sense of sniffing out a deal. For himself he can't help but look to see if there are any book peddlers....although he doubts it he can't help himself but look.......
Vin peruses the list for a moment before accepting defeat and looking up to the dwarf-kind.
"I am afraid I don't speak your language. Any chance you speak this language?", he asks, and if he gets no useful response he will head out to try and get Serafina's attention to come help him.
The blue dwarf looks puzzled at vin and begins rummaging around under the counter, after a moment the climb up onto the step stool and place a small silver vial on the counter, pointing at vins pack and asking something in their odd language, which vin assumes easily is offer for trade.
Muir doesn't find any book sellers in this square unfortunately, but he does notice a door with the faded visage of a raven hanging above it, on closer inspection it is the full raven queen symbol but the skull and ribs seem to have worn away with age.
Vin looks at the silver vial and sees the dwarf like person point to his bag.
He starts to root around, coming up with a crossbow bolt, a piton and torch, which he puts on the table. He really has no idea what he is trading for at this point.
He then turns around and points at the door, whispering to Serafina, "I am in the magic shop, the keeper is trying to trade me for a silver vial, but I don't know what it is".
Turning back to the shop keeper, he smiles and motions to the items he has laid down.
Vin looks to Elthana as well, and particularly notes the bag she is holding, which is their only way of getting the dragon bone back to their plane.

"But it won't need be," Sam says assuringly looking to Elthana.
"So... let's ride the lightning, eh?"
Muir nods "Lightning it is! I have enough in me for 1 more.....uh.....well let's hope it doesn't come to this....Well let's get to it then"
"Lightning it is" Serafina agrees, rolling up her map. She then says something Auran to Ömertyr, who in turn nods, claps Sam on the shoulder saying something in giant and then leaves you all to it.
