"oh! Uhhhh, I missed where Sam went" Ingram begins, looking like a scolded schoolboy as elthana stand by the edge asking, "I was pretty drunk but Ömertyr figured out how to put the cold on that descending liquid vapour thing That he threw me into, and well... he enjoys being a bit of a bastard, but now I've sobered up a bit... Hang on" he speaks to Ömertyr for a moment and gets a response before translating for Elthana, "ok he uhh went to go find somewhere to sleep, there's beds here too it's not just a hot baths, so he shouldn't be far, but as far as his exact location, I dunno..."
Griff swims up to the edge where Elthana stands, the towel on his head steaming, and a frown on his beak "you should take a moment to be relaxing, it may be the last moment we get to be doing something like this before.. well ever"
Vin hadn't realised how tired and tense he was until his muscles started to relax in the hot water of the pool. He is aware that he is drifting off to sleep, and is tempted to let it swallow him. The sleep that is.
"Just a few more minutes. Maybe 10. Maybe 20", he says to Neferox, as if in reply to something she had said.
Gewyn walks up behind Elthana and places a hand on her shoulder. Down to just a towel, he is not wearing his tiefling form, and the scar on his chest stands out against his pale skin. "Griff is right. We have earned ourselves a reprieve for some innocent indulgence. If you never get a chance to switch off and come down from crisis, you'll begin to fray and your decision-making will suffer. Like music, we are designed for ups and downs. And all practicality aside, I think this will feel really good." He chuckles and walks a few feet away, dropping his towel and then slowly lowering himself into the water. "Oooohhaahhhh,"he sighs. "What do you think, Spyro? The water's fine." Spyro materializes around his neck, and Gewyn waits to see if the dragon will brave the waters himself.
Griff calls over to Ingram and Ömertyr in auran and then there is a back and forth between Ingram and ömertyr before the group figure out what information is relevant, griff then swims back to the pool edge and bobs for a moment. "Sam was being told what this place was and chose to find somewhere to be sleeping instead. Something about not wanting any sausage soup... Either way, he may be needing some time alone, and he is not being loose on the isle swinging his maul, he is needing his own reprieve aswell as us." He says generally to the group but pointedly towards Elthana and her crossed arms.
Spyro's tail dips in and swishes around in the warm water. He then pulls it out and inspects it for wilting but finds nothing concerning. Gladly, as Gewyn sinks slightly lower in the water, spyro unfurls his floral butterfly wings and uses them as buoyancy to float alone on the surface, kicking his little legs and enjoying himself. Then suddenly every petal upon spyro turns bright orange and look to be slightly thicker.
Elthana keeps her arms crossed, but softens a bit towards Griff when he attempts to tell her the reason behind the stop at the baths. She sees Vin and Muir melting into them and then turns to Gewyn as he places a hand on her shoulder.
The touch seems to unwind the nervous energy pulsating from her and she uncrosses her arms. They fall to her sides and she looks into Gewyn's eyes as he speaks. He can clearly see the fear in the back of her eyes, and with the smallest of whispers that only he and Spyro can hear, "What if I fall asleep?"
She quickly turns away from him, her facad having crumbled too much for her liking and she starts towards one of the baths. Not even paying attention, she walks in with the towel still around her and lets the water surround her as she submerges. But she stays awake.
Vin hears the others talking but it is a little dreamlike to his relaxed mind.
He will happily float for a little while longer, with Neferox watching over him from the edge of the water, herself within the steam. He will then move to find a bed to get some sleep, hopefully once Ginro appears with some solution to reduce the time that will take.
The next hour flies by, the group losing track of time as the perfumed water fills their senses and relaxes the knots that work themselves onto the bodies of people hardened by the adventuring lifestyle. Ömertyr leaves first, and Ingram translates for the group that the giant has some things to check up on and some things to find.
Ingram himself looks like a raisin when he lifts himself about and wraps a towel around himself. The dehydration of the amount of alcohol he consumed earlier not having helped his now dishevelled look after pruning so thoroughly in the water.
The group exit feeling warm, relaxed and as if a weight has been lifted from them, given their reprieve from the physical strains of the recent fights. Skin feels smoother, hair more glossy, Griff's feathers puff up twice their normal featheryness making him look like a ball of bird. After drying and redressing in provided areas for doing so the group find an adjoining corridor of rooms, some simply singles, some with two or three beds in, but each having lockable storage spaces for items and armour.
Though there seems to be no locks on the actual rooms there are small signs on the doors designating whether the room is occupied or not.
Ingram dives into a single room, flipping his sign to occupied and shuts the door, Griff looks to the group and shrugs waiting for suggestions.
Although he feels far more relaxed, Vin is a little disappointed there has been sign of Ginro whilst they have been soaking. Resigned to another very long period of rest, he chooses a room with at least a couple of beds and he and Neferox enter.
"I guess I will see you all in about thirty hours or so", he says to Griff, Gewyn and Elthana as he pokes his head out and puts the small occupied sign on the door.
"Unless any of you want to share with us".
Neferox has already jumped onto one of the beds, claiming it as hers for the duration.
Elthana breathes a slight sigh of relief seeing that there is an option for single rooms. "I am going to take a single as I don't want anything overheard in my presence as I sleep. I was hoping Ginro would have a solution to the amount of time we need to sleep, but I guess not." she shrugs at this and heads into the room, closing the door behind her.
Seeing Elthana's face at the baths, realization dawns on Gewyn. Elthana is not off the battlefield yet. Her war continues with each moment. He lets her move away and preserve her dignity in whatever way she feels she needs, but he keeps an eye on her. After soaking for a little bit, he says to Spyro, "You are looking lusher than ever. I suppose this hot bath is agreeable with your constitution."
Four hours after the last door closes, Ömertyr walks down the corridor to the door behind which he knows Sam is sleeping, he has a surprise for the half orc in the form of a fluffy mastiff dangling happily under one of his arms.
As the giantkin enters Sam's room and springs a trap causing a loud thud and putting Sam on high alert, Muir appears from his room, trying to get some fresh air after a worrying dream. Instead the loxodon bumps directly into Ginro who is on the way to find the group in its entirety with a solution to their long rest problem.
Ömertyr gives Sam a moment to get dressed and after inquiring with Ginro starts knocking on each door and waking the rest of the group.
Each of you gear a knock, and a loud voice in giant, recognisable as Ömertyr but likely not knowing exactly what he has said. (You all gain the benefits of a short rest)
"Wait... wait..." Sam says softly as his door slowly opens. Once it cracks open enough there is immediately a snout shoved partway through the opening, sniffing eagerly. "Wait!" Sam says a bit more firmly. As the door firmly opens there is the a large mastiff dog sitting just inside the room, it's eagerness to run out apparent by the way it's butt wriggles despite the fact it is sitting and waiting to be released. Sam looks from the eager dog to out into the hall where he expects to find Ömertyr waiting but it slightly surprised to see the Giant going from door to door knocking and awakening others. He also sees Muir standing with their host, their conversation seemingly ending abruptly as Sam appears. Sam is not surprised...
"Ok!" Sam says, releasing the hound and creating an energetic comet of fur and frenzy and the mastiff runs into the hall, bumping up against anyone and everyone there, giving them a quick sniff or three before bounding off to the next person like some crazed pinball. Each person as they exit their room are greeted by the excited mastiff running up to them and bumping into them... Excepting probably Vin and Nef as I am assuming Neferox would growl out a warning or some such to stop it.
Sam grunts a hello sounding grunt and then glances back into the room he used to double check that he grabbed everything. Once satisfied he walks out into the hall and closes the door behind him, the mastiff still bounding from person to person burning off some pent up energy. "Seems they found Scooby and teleported him over," Sam says to the hall in general as an explanation for the hound... "So, where's breakfast?"
((Hmm, I know Mastiff wasn't pulled from the bag much but I'm a bit surprised I didn't have a recorded name for them yet. So Scooby it is, I guess.))
Vin exits the room, bleary eyed and looking not much better than when he entered the room. Neferox does indeed warn the hound off with a well placed growl and bearing of teeth.
"ah yes, I believe I have a solution to your rest problem. I can cut the time needed in half at the minimum, it's been near 6 hours since you all left the cafeteria, and so you still need a bit more I would assume, 32 total I remember you saying. I just need to collect you all together and we'll be ready." Ginro says excitedly but without revealing anything of explanation. "Oh and I have some items that may aid you once we have you back properly"
Ömertyr gives Sam a nod and a grin and enters the room where Griff and Gewyn are resting, though having had it explained to him the giantkin only wakes Gewyn, making sure to leave Griff in his slumber.
Once Gewyn is out and groggily greeting the group, Elthana arrives too, Spyro seems to have roused her after sensing Gewyn waking up.
"Sure", Vin replies. "As long as I get to sleep, I don't mind at all".
Muir says nothing..just nods and heads in
