The creature looks at Kasandra and begins to furiously dig in its left ear with a dirty finger, "Well I'm just me I suppose. As for the wall, you see, the higher ups don't like just anyone climbing the walls don't ya know. It gets them all in a tither. Then they're all flapping and poking, and murdering."
You notice a strong musty earthy smell emanates from the tiny little brown thing, its skin is a dark woody brown, bark textured, and quite dry. All up it would stand about 10 t 12 inches high you think.
With a look of sublime relief it finishes its scratching, "What are you big folk doing here? It's a very dangerous place don't ya know most things come to no good by and by. Are you sure you don't want some nice root tea?"
It leans down and rests on its spindly crossed arms conversationally "It's been a good long while since we had a nice chat."
The twiggy little brown man leans a bit further out of his hole in the wall and waves at Grigor and the others, "Well hullo there!"
He scratches his thick filthy mop of hair..."Yes yes, me and my brothers. we do all the heavy lifting around here. None of us a much willing followers of His High and Mighty Self, but we owe him a debt you see. One we will, in all likely hood never be able to pay off. So toil we do, toil and sweat, and run about at Himselfs bidding. Unwilling participants in the grand scheme is more like it!" He finishes with a flourish pointing his yellow nailed finger in the air.
"As to the truth of my words well, as you said it is a dangerous place, but I am no friend of Himself and look to put mud in his eye when I may. As long as I do not draw his wrath."
For Grigor:
You feel his words are genuine, you also feel that he would betray you if it saved him trouble or harm.

“Well met my good fellow. We are not the biggest fans of Him either... Perhaps you could tello ushow to reach his palace with safety and we could put mud in his eye for you once we reach him.”
Grigor whispers to the group "I dont trust this guy, but maybe we should accept the Invitation to get more information about this place. Someone who knows the terrain is maybe helpful. But we should stay alert if it is a trap. But my intuition tells me, that he his no threat at the moment. What do you think?"

"I've heard it is the nature of the Fey to weave boons into their mortal trials in order to keep things interesting and keep their prey on guard to exhaustion." Braddik offers. "So too with this, I'd wager a drink, some conversation, and a chance to rest might do better to prepare us for what's ahead than do us harm."
At the mention of "higher ups" Braddik scans the skies for large circling guardians, as sometimes warnings from the Fey can be a bit more literal than one would like.

"The mongoose blew out its candle and was asleep in bed before the room went dark." —Llanowar fable
The little man looks at Ayrlin, "Good day to you master elf, I would gladly aid you as far as I can, alas I am a small thing and my world is also small. But I see you and your friends are stuck here and I will show you the way forward."He ducks back into his hole in the wall and emerges once again with an old leather bag. Then he smiles and yells, "Time for tea brothers!"
All around you in the walls and amongst the cobbles of the lane way itself stones begin to move and swing out or up. Dozens of little brown figures pop up or out and begin moving around. Smiling and waving, the greet you whilst dragging out pots and pans, firewood and small clay or wood bowls.
"It's been an age since we had company, and mighty glad we are to meet you all," says the first creature you saw. As the water heats and the tea steeps, you converse with the creatures, much is just chit chat, about the weather and such, but some insights as to the true nature of the labyrinth are imparted. You now know that you are in the Feywilds and the entrance to the labyrinth forms a portal to this realm. The creatures explain that here your eyes and ears cannot be fully trusted. That navigating your way through the place is more about how you look and what you're expectations are, not what you see. Your intentions and actions in a sense build the way around you.
You find the tea pleasant, and the slightly odd tasting treats filling and refreshing.
Braddik keeps his eyes skyward following his intuition, suspecting that the literal nature of the fey may provide clues to their environment. He sees no large flying creatures, but does at the edge of his vision see tiny red bat like forms flying in large groups, way way up in the sky. A few more sips of tea later he sees one of them break off and fly down. It lands on the top of the wall near where Kasandra climbed earlier. The creature is about a one or two feet long, has red leathery skin, and bat like wings. Sharp pincers form the ends of its front and back legs, and its face elongates into a needle point proboscis. It sits there for a while looking at the strange gathering hungrily and then takes off to rejoin its companions in the sky.
Your host then shows you a small stone with a hole in its centre. "This is a fey stone, it will help you see the true nature of things in the Feywilds and will help you find your way in the labyrinth. Look after it travellers, these things are uncommon and cannot be replaced."
He stands and walks up the lane way about sixty feet and points at the northern wall [The one closer to the Goblin City at the centre]. He then smiles, and steps sideways into it! You hear his high pitched laughter and he steps out from the wall and bows to you all.
"No magic trick I assure you, more a trick of the eyes and the light of this twilight realm. There are openings like this all over the labyrinth, you just need the right eyes to see them. That stone there will help your big eyes see like ours." He then walks back to the wall where Kasandra first climbed and begins ascending. His brother faeries and say farewell and begin tidying up the lane way and returning to their homes in the stone.
OOC:
The tea and treats refresh you working like a long rest.
The Fey stone gives a +5 to ability checks for perception, insight, and investigation whilst in the Feywilds. The stone may only be used once on any given creature or area. If the same or any other character tries to use the stone for the same ability check it will not give a different result.
Ayrlin enjoys the tea and the conversation and thanks the tiny creatures for both and for the help they lended.
“Well “he says once the creatures are gone “It seems that we have more knowledge than before and a little help. Shall we continue?” He says crossing the wall at the same place the little man.
Grigor is a little sceptical about the stone the Party gets from these creatures. "I hope you understand my caution, but I'd like to take a closer look." He grabs the stone and concentrates for 10 minutes, making strange symbols in the air with his fingers.
OOC: he uses Detect Magic as Ritual and looks At the stone. What can he say about the magic of the stone?

"The was an unexpected turn of events." Kasandra says as she stands and draws her shortsword, leaving her shield on her back and her left hand free. Moving towards the phantom wall the creature showed them, she says, "I'll take point again once everyone is ready." She looks towards the "wall" cautiously.
Once we start moving, Kasandra will step through the wall at half-speed until she can actually see the passage behind the illusion and pause to check for traps before moving on at normal speed.
Everyone makes ready, Xorin notes that his Mage armour is still active.
Ayrlin and Kasandra move up to the place where the creature crossed the wall. Now that they know there is a way through here they notice very, very, subtle variations in the stone work. Looking at different angles you see slight imperfections that give away the edges of the stone work. The way out is hidden with tricks of the eye not of magic, though you suspect the stone was laid by creatures who can work stone beyond the capabilities of anything mortal.
Stepping through Ayrlin and Kasandra see another lane way only 5 feet wide leading to the east. The walls are covered with the same thick, thorny, vines that grow more lush the further east you look. At about fifty-ish feet east the lane way makes a right angle turn to the North. The cobbles are in better shape here, and no rubbish litters the lane way like the outer one.
Grigor waves his hand over the fey stone reciting words of magic. After his ritual is complete he senses a moderately powerful infusion of divination magic within the stone.
As you all make ready to move on you hear a pain filled, angry roar from somewhere near by to the north west. You also catch snippets of high pitched voices yammering away in coarse language.
For Xorin and Kasandra:
The voices are speaking goblin. You catch part phrases mixed with cruel amusement and laughter. "Stoopid oaf! hahaha. ...in your own net! ....big dummy! ....gonna bash you good, thhhffffffttttttt!

Kasandra quietly frees her handaxe from its sheath, holding it in her left hand and moves slowly toward the corner around which the sounds are coming. She looks for traps as she moves.

It leans down and rests on its spindly crossed arms conversationally "It's been a good long while since we had a nice chat."
"Did you say we? Are there more of you?" Grigor looks very sceptical over this creature.
