The trader tilts his head looking to Drezmir before offering a bow upon seeing his pedigree
"How do I say this politely my lord.. I hear that Glazing Winds is.. Well a dump sir. Are you sure I'll be able to trade in that town? Plus aren't traders mostly attacked?"
Though Drezmir tries to find insight into these guards he isn't able to discern much of anything it would seem. As Corvus looks to the merchants rig and caravan upon walking around he see's plenty of gold but also.. Metals and such this man seems to be making weapons and arms along with other trinkets.
The merchant had waved his arms a bit panicked as the large elf grew a bit upset by the word pest.
"Oh nonono! Not you good sir! I mean.. Can you handle pest? Such as rats? Or maybe larger critters?"
The merchant looked to Juzi as he asked for clothing he had nodded with a smile
"An adventurer that just wants clothing? I have a shop here in the capital.. If you could convince you're knight friend that.. I'm with you're caravan.. And let me in. I'll get you some of my nicest clothes."
He said to Juzi with a hushed tone so the guards and others may not here.

Deception roll to stay quiet
OOC Simon was using those resources to steal from traders. Because Glazing Winds didn't actually have the money to make trading efficient and the harvest were struggling as well. Simon's actions had caused traders to come less often because.. He was stealing from them as well. Hurting their reputation greatly, though perhaps with some of the things he had stolen before they could be fit to make some trade. (As messed up as that sounds)
If some wish to separate and stay with the merchant and others head into the castle they of course may ^~^
Exploration
As for those who enter the capital the place seems large with many layers, districts that head even higher or lower. Higher appears to be the castle, though exploring would prove difficult without a map or perhaps they could rely on their sense of direction not to become lost? (Survival roll) Or maybe look for a directory? (Perception) or maybe one could even ask where the directory was? (Persuasion)
They can however see they are near the shopping district and three shops appear to stand out the most. Surrounded and covered by adventurers!
If so, what level are we at and can my character have the werewolf curse?

(OOC: Oh, okay. Lol, I had it partly right in my head :'D. I should have made sure before having Drez say anything. Oh, and he was actually rolling insight on the merchant, not the guards. But it doesn't matter much since he rolled so low anyways.)
Drezmir blinks, unsure if he should be offended or not. Glazing Winds...a...dump? Just more rumors like what Arthur had heard about Gwen being a "Cold Beauty". Still, perhaps he's spoken to soon. Yes, Glazing winds could benefit from starting some trade, but perhaps he should just... let Gwen handle that. After all, he has no idea what establishing trade relations entails.
So, he simply gives an awkward smile and says, "It seems that rumors often paint false pictures of both people and places. Glazing Winds is by no means a dump as you put it. However, it has been struggling with trade for a while due to...some robbers and monsters lurking about. However, I assure you that they are nothing to worry about anymore. My comrades and I saw to that personally." He gives a light laugh and adds, "And please don't call me ''lord', I'm still getting used to this knight thing..." He shakes his head, "I...have a feeling that the people of Glazing Winds would be thrilled to have you visit, and I figured that if you couldn't gain access here then you might as well go to somewhere that would have you." He shrugs, "Up to you though." When the merchant turns to Juzi, Drezmir gives a wave and turns to join up with the rest of his group. Then, unless Juzi stops him to inquire about the Merchant's private request (which he didn't hear I'm assuming), he proceeds to enter the capitol with them.
Releasing Amon's wrist, Corvus gives the fairy one last glare, then looks around the area for some sort of map. He's not particularly worried about getting lost, he can fly after all, finding his way back to a specific point would be child's play. However, he may not be able to guess at what some of the buildings are from above, plus it would just be easier if he had a map.

Kocino follows Corvus into the city. “You know, Corvus, you can just ask people for directions.” He finds someone he believes to be a local. “Hello, I was wondering if you could assist my friends and I with finding some information on the city?”
Juzi took in the words of this seemingly jolly person thoughtfully, "Ohhhhhh, You mean Juzi wrestle pest." He said with an air of exaggerated understanding. "Yes, Juzi wrestle pest big no trouble." He paused and considered the plump man up and down. Clearly he was having trouble puzzling something out. "You have chop in cap-tal. You need night person to go to chop? Is you chop. You go you chop. It ok. You go with Juzi to chop. Juzi wrestle any pest. Juzi make safe! No trouble seller-man."Juzi spoke these things as he normally would. He gestured greatly with his hands and whole body to attempt to express what he was trying to communicate. Now he stood calmly in wait of what the other man would say, though his eyes sparkled with satisfaction in regards to how well he thought this exchange was going.
Jess looks on as Juzi converses with the shop owner. A smile slowly spreads on her face. Not a patronizing or mean sort of smile, just the kind that comes naturally from happiness. She determines in her heart that she will help the strange elf with whatever situation he gets himself into, if he wants or needs it.
Corvus though stoic and serious, finds himself.. Lost in this sort of town. Different from the sorta magic the artificer's used back at Germuid to advance society. The carriages and the land seemed sprawling he was clearly lost and anyone looking at him may see this fact. Kocino manages to track down a friendly face, a horned woman perhaps a tiefling? With a rather showy form of dress and somewhat darker skin. She had a pleasant smile, it appeared here in Dawn city that tieflings were rather accepted. As men and women hadn't minded her presence even a few human men could be seen leering at her something she hadn't noticed or simply ignored. She had smiled at Kocino gauging at him as best as she could.
"Oh of course! Here I can show you where the directory is and you can acquire a map it is rather large here after all."
And with that Kocino was able to to learn where this directory was a way to make a map of this sprawling place.
Meanwhile with Juzi and the merchant.
The merchant had given a chuckle to Juzi as he took to his side looking to the guards.
"I am their royal retainer you see! The knight and his motley crew need a merchant after all yes? If you excuse me gentlemen.. I will be heading into Dawn City!"
The guards will have looked to Drezmir to confirm or deny this merchants claims.
OOC For Kocino if he looks for the directy he finds these things written down.
A merchant district and the 3 biggest shops for merchants are..
William's Forge (Weapon Craftsman)
Dorothy's Guardian (Armor craftsman)
Bobs and Baubles (Curios and other magical trinkets)
Upper "Echelon" sector is the religious sect for churches and the like
The jewels sector is for nobles and higher estates through here the castle can be found.
The lower echelon doesn't seem to have much on this directory surprisingly.
The "Vintsvent" sector appears to strictly be a military sector.
The Shining Guild is also on the map it would appear.
(I was going to make a post but then realised it was not necessary. Ignore the persuasion checks, and Sy is just standing behind Kocino, not paying attention to anything else.)
Drezmir blinks, surprised by the merchants claim... "What's a retainer...?" He trails off, hoping no one heard the question.
Glancing at the guards he hesitates, eyeing the merchant for a moment before shrugging and nodding, "Oh...yes. I suppose we could use a merchant..."
He waves a hand as if to motion whoever else hadn't entered the city forward, and then continues through the gate without giving anymore of a conformation or denial.
Corvus grumbles a bit at Kocino's words. He's been fine without anyone's help thus far, why should he need to ask for it now? But as he looks around, he realizes that he has absolutely no idea what he is walking into. This place as a completely different architecture than any other city he'd been to. This fact annoyed him, but the fact that the other warlock was right annoyed him even more. He snorts then follows behind Kocino. "Well? Does that thing show you anything useful?" He grunts as he looks over the elf's shoulder. "A library perhaps? Or...I suppose we are here to investegate the Vintsvents..." That family had something to do with Simon, so they are likely linked to that demon woman as well. His left fist tightens as he thinks about her, and the sound of metal scraping metal resonates from his right sleeve.
If relevant, her outlander background has sharpened her situational awareness:
Wanderer feature: "You have an excellent memory for maps and geography, and you can always recall the general layout of terrain, settlements, and other features around you. In addition, you can find food and fresh water for yourself and up to five other people each day, provided that the land offers berries, small game, water, and so forth."
(for some reason this doesn't appear on the character sheet)
~~~
Jess would like to establish with the group a plan for rendezvous in case people start splitting up. She herself would like to check out the Bobs and Baubles shop. But perhaps it would be prudent to first find a place to stay at an inn, with plans to meet up there for debriefing at the end of the day?
Kocino turns around, new map in hand. “There is a fair amount of useful information here. But not all of the news is good, Corvus. I don’t think the map will show us where to get rid of your poor attitude.” Kocino laughs as he hands the map to Corvus.
The aarakocra glares at Kocino but doesn't comment on his remark as he takes the map in his left hand. He glances over it, gaze settling on the Vintsvent sector. These people definitely are high ranking nobility. So they are military based, what is their role in this city? Are they supposed to protect it? That would make sense, but then what is the Shining Guild for? He looks back up at whatever of his companions are with him. (Accept Amon of course. He doesn't count. lol) "Well, do we have a plan to talk to these Vintsvents? Are we posing as messengers from Glazing winds? Even if we are, they may take their time in seeing us." He says this in a low voice so only those close to him can hear.
As much as he doesn't want to wait around. There may be other ways to get information in this city. So, while it would be annoying, if the nobles do make them wait, at least he will be able to use that time.
As Corvus looks over the directory he does in fact find such a thing, it is not too far off from the castle on the map!
As Jess looks for suitable places to stay, she is able to read that the Shining Guild also doubles as a tavern it would seem!
The merchant looks to Juzi and than Drezmir before giving a bow.
"The name is Augustus and trade is the game! As for my shop I have set up my shack right next to Dragon's Forge. Me and the blacksmith do work together after all! Also if you grow restless I do have a critter problem, that's what adventurers do right? Do menial task I do not wish to do in exchange for coin yes?"
And with that Augustus had begun to head to his shop, but not before he handed the party a copy of the directory map. Of course.. he had marked his shop on said map as well.
"Well met Augustus,"Drez says, nodding to the merchant. "Perhaps we will stop by...we will see." He accepts the map and stares after him for a moment as he leaves. Drez isn't to sure what just happened, but it seemed that everything had worked out so he won't complain. Perhaps he and his friends will sop by the shop. Who knows, maybe Augustus could give them a good deal on something since they just helped him get past the guards.
Turning to his companions Drezmir says, "Well then, is there anything anyone would like to do first? How about we find an inn together and then split up if we so wish." He gives Jess a nod, "Then we can meet there at the end of the day. Or sooner if we see fit." He glances around, "To be honest I'm not sure where we should start. We know the Vintsvents have something to do with the Awakening, but judging by past experiences it doesn't seem like a good idea to just head in there demanding an audience. ...and even if we can get an audience I'm not sure what we should say... other then see if we can get some answers without blatantly accusing them. In which case we will need a cover story to explain why we wanted the audience in the first place." He rubs his chin thoughtfully, "Hmm, well, I suppose we could see if its even possible to get an audience. From what I understand, sometimes getting audience with a noble can take a few days or more if they don't deem you important enough to speak to immediately. So it might be in our favor for someone to go see about scheduling a meeting today to cut back our waiting time."
He looks up, "Any thoughts?" As he asks this, he starts walking towards the nearest inn he saw on the map, hoping that everyone follows him.
Juzi looks longingly after Gud Sir Gust as he moved away. He thought he had done big with his discovery of the seller-man, but his new friends seemed to have other plans in mind. He begrudgingly decided to hang around and see what everyone else would do. Sitting or standing still wasn't Juzi's most practiced skill, but he had a myriad of things to look at while they lingered. He had trouble paying attention now as he felt pulled in so many directions. He had done it! He had made it into a city without being chased away and yelled at; what an exciting day! He had already forgotten about the merchant.
Juzi shook himself. He needed to "be calm and breathe slow."
He really is trying Gau!
