Crispy turns away at the mushroom eating party, feeling sick, and slowly looks around. Yearning for some meat and ale, she distract herself by sitting over by Evelyn, and decides to do something she usually doesn't do - try and be friendly.
Elon whispers to himself “how did they ever make it this far?”
Wiping his mouth, Solomon says, “They usually have a much better effect. One time, a whole tree grew from one of these things. The fruit managed to cure the diseases of a whole village.”

Rex suffers the same effect, though his constitution allows him to keep the mushroom down. It is clear he may regret it in a few hours, but at least he is still alive.
(This result for the Bag of Beans has good and bad results. Literally a 50-50 and only determined by when you eat one.)
Evelyn will notice that these mushrooms are an alien species unlike any she has seen before. Fascinating, tantilizing, yet terrifying since some normal mushrooms are good to eat and others are certain death.

"So," she says, casually, "What's your story..?"
Evelyn eyes the woman next to her, sizing her up, and then shrugs .
"Nothing special. Spent nearly all my life in a hunting lodge up on the mountains, raised by other hunters. That kind of environment doesn't offer a lot in the way of careers so its only natural I follow in the footsteps of those that raised me." She pats the bow on her back affectionately.
"Always favored the bow and us air types have a tendency to be very ... quiet, so I ended up being a natural. Of course, the mountain only offer so much in terms of game and it was getting crowded up their so I left to search for new hunting grounds. But what about you, my lady, I'm sure you have much more interesting tales to tell."

"That is an impressive weapon." she says, looking it over, then eyes back on you. "You don't have to call me 'my lady'. Crispy is fine. To be honest i'm not used to people being nice to me. No one usually is. But hey, I appreciate it." She pauses for a moment, with a combination of admiration and curiosity. "I've never met anyone like you before." Crispy seems distant for a moment, as if bringing up a past she didn't like to, but this woman she was talking to was different than all the other women she knew, so yeah, why not. "Yeah. I've got a pretty interesting life. My mom was a whore, and my dad hit the bottle way too much..and me. I was found in an alley, almost dead, before I was scooped up into law enforcement, if you can believe that. But, I turned out to be a pretty dirty and unethical officer. We took advantage of criminals very blatantly, and no one could stop us. Then my work partner died and I got fired, and exiled. I have lots of mental baggage i'm still trying to manage, after all this time, if you know what I mean. And I have lots more to tell, but hey, we just met and I don't wanna bore you so fast."
Meanwhile, while they’re talking, Solomon is recording his findings in a small notebook. “Mushrooms... possibly bad. Could be used as a poison.” Before closing it, “Good to know!”

Entering the forest, you get a very heavy feeling of being watched. The air feels vividly alive, as though you are tapping into some sort of direct link to a massive network. As best as you can reckon from Talvus' map, the journey to your objective should take approximately 1 day, but the suspected destination is over a mile wide. The moving is slow and vision does not extend very far. The light let in through the canopy gives just enough clues as to the time of day and direction of travel.
(From here, we will assume a general direction toward the southern objective. I'll throw out an encounter roll every 4 hours while you travel. If anyone would like to make a survival check, DC18, it will increase the time between encounters to 6 hours.)

Eyes above the canopy would help, but you would see a general sea of greenery. Similar to being in the ocean and seeing a shoreline. Good reference to judge from, but little definitive assistance. I'm not sold for advantage, but I'll give it a +3 bonus since it will at least give you a better sense of distance and direction in conjunction to your map.

"Well miss Crispy, I think all of us here our own share of baggage. I won't pry though, learned its best if you let the animal approach you first rather then the other way around. But I will say, you ever find yourself in a situation where you feel unsure of yourself, come to me and maybe I can give you a bit of guidance." She winks at the human, before turning her attention back to her surroundings.
Great! Solomon will trace another rune in the air and whistle as a the tube apperates into an actual hawk. “Moses, scout the area for me!” The hawk soars into the air.

"Sounds good. I'd like that..I think.." She smiles, trying to interpret the meaning - watching her exit the conversation, but trying to remain as pleasant as possible. When Evelyn's out of earshot, Crispy dwells a moment on the conversation.
"That's the thing..the animals never approach..." she whispers, sadly.
Moving through the brush, the going is uneventful for the first few hours, even peaceful at times. As you near a small clearing (about 20' across), you see a man resting against a tree. His clothed are shredded, his body is a network of wounds, and his right forearm is wrapped on a large bandage soaked with blood. At your approach, he is startled into motion and grabs a shield with his good arm, then drops a sharpened stick over the top, apparently in no condition to fight, but not willing to die yet.
