The worm’s long body undulates and ripples as it appears to think for a few moments.
Many small creatures pass through these gardens, but rarely any like you, miniature versions of giant folk. But there have been some, from time to time, distressed little folk. Hunted by bees. Looking for a way home. I answered what questions I could for them, and never saw them again.
"Molder, could you perchance lift one of us up to reach one of the aphids over there?" Nemi asks cautiously. "You are so great that perhaps it would be an easy task for you?"
Anyone who cares to try would be able to be lifted into the air on Molder’s back. The skin is surprisingly rough like a thick hide, and somewhat sticky with mucus. Lifted up, you can knock aphids down off the leafy plants to the ground, where other party members can pull off their hairs. The aphids are small and harmless and move lethargically.
"Fair enough" says Elric, climbing up onto Molder's 'head' to be lifted up. He unhitches his mace from his belt and prepares to knock a couple of aphids down for his friends.
Seeing Elric climb up and Horkur's decision to stay on the ground, Nemi considers her size and decides to stand on the ground with Horkur following along behind the monsterous earthworm. "I think I'll stay on the ground with Horkur too. Tortle's don't land too well should I slip. Thank you Kind Molder."
Elric can easily dislodge the lethargic little bugs and those on the ground can catch them. They’re like little dogs, but move slowly as though drugged or very lazy. You can easily snap off their hairs and collect as many as you wish.
Molder sends to you a sensation of amusement.
Never have I seen such an interesting activity. You are a fun bunch. I wish you success in your endeavors.
Then, lowering himself so that Elric can easily hop off, he clearly prepares to dive back down into the earth.
Horkur chases down several of the little dog-sized bugs and chops the hair from them. Gathering several, he packs them away and turns back to his friends. "Ok, so that is the list of ingredients now yes? Should we try to get back to Rezlin? Can he even be trusted at this point?"
"Thank you my generous new friend! Safe travels." Nemi bids the mighty Molder well thinking much different thoughts about the little creatures she so often used for fishing.
She looks at her new companions, "Yes, to the cottage to put a stop to this wicked little man's deeds if we can discover the means."
(As you decide what to do next I’ll remind you of post #158 as I do believe the characters would remember it more easily than the players, for us it was more than a month ago but for the PC’s it was only yesterday)
"But what of that invisible monster that Connor fellow spoke of? Hey come to think of it, didn't he also say we should talk to a moth or such in the herb garden?"
Connor looks over at the cottage and shakes his head.
“Ach, t’is a strange old man, and not very kindly neither. You take me advice an’ stay away from him! Dunna try to enter his cottage, for he has a wee invisible monster who spies for ‘im, an’ ye surely be caught an’ killt, mark me words.”
“As fer the bees, I hadn’t noticed. They dunna listen to me playin’, so I dunna be payin’ much attention to them neither. We leaves each unto their own. But I reckon some o’ the other garden inhabitants may know more about it. The Moon Moth oughta know more, she bein’ a fellow insect an’ all. Ye might find her in the herb garden on a clear night.”
"Yes, perhaps we should head to the Herb Garden?" Nemi gazes up at the sky hoping for a clear evening towards night.
Elric nods at Nemi's suggestion; "Yes, that moth might be the key to getting into Rezlin's without being spotted. Then we can worry about how to un-shrink ourselves"
Nemi gazes at the sky and the position of the tree to judge the location of the Herb Garden and starts in that direction hoping to traverse the ground quickly.
@DM
Please forgive me if mentioned earlier but what time of day is it now?
Nemi stands a little taller as she walks, feeling the experience strengthen her. She pulls out her second blade working it in her hand, swishing them together and smiles.
@DM assuming magic won't come into play until rest?
You make it to the herb garden by late afternoon. Here strange weed-like plants grow in abundance. Some are in flower and strange aromas fill the area. Others have broad leaves of various shapes and colors. Still more have more needle-like leaves. The wide variety of plants is rather dizzying and gives a sense of disorientation. You feel fortunate to not have come across any hostile entities on this day, though perhaps it can be attributed to savvy maneuvering by the group.
The herb garden is quiet. You don't immediately spot any giant moths...

Horkur asks, outloud: "Have you seen any others, perhaps small like us, come through before?"

Yes, if you can climb onto me.

"I will stay down here and collect those little hairs, if it is all the same to you.." Horkur immediately responds.

Please forgive me if mentioned earlier but what time of day is it now?
You spent the morning with the spider and the mouse, then traveling to the vegetable patch. Now it’s about noon.
It will take about 2-3 hours to make it to the herb garden, north of you.
Please take 100 experience for your encounters in the vegetable patch. This should be enough to achieve level 2.
Then make survival checks as usual.
"Sounds like a plan! Let's head out."

Elric shoulders his pack and follows Nemi. "I've never seen a giant moth before, I hope it's friendly"
Survival 24 plus 2 for guidance

I don't mind.
