"Gyaaahh!!! It's Miken! And his crew! They're in trouble!" Eris screeches as she rushes towards the main deck on her well built legs. "Hey! Miss Driver!" She shouts to Princess. "I know we're supposed to go back but we can't just leave the others in peril! Quickly! close the gap between ours and the other ship! Everyone else get ready to rescue them!"

Princess brings the ships close enough that you can throw ropes across to the other ship, and the crew quickly secures them to their railing. Miken busies himself coordinating the rest of the crew onto the ropes; once all but Miken have safely made it across to the Flighty Foundling, he unties all but one and begins climbing across on the last rope. He's almost halfway across when the other ship, almost constantly being wracked by electric pulses, lets out a horrible groaning noise. Looking back, he grimaces and yells out, "Go! She's going to blow!", and pulling a dagger from his belt, severs the rope behind him, hanging on for dear life as Princess pulls the Foundling away as fast as she can. Mere seconds later, behind your fleeing ship, a massive explosion of electrical energy blows the other vessel out of the sky.
There's just time for both crews to breathe a sigh of relief, and the others to begin thanking you for the evacuation, before the illusion around you ends in a wave of silvery blue light, and you stand within the simulation chamber where your training exercise began. Something's wrong: magical energy ripples like a turbulent cloud around you, reaching out to touch the rune-scribed walls, then exploding outward as bolts of lightning, sending Saerthe, Blip, and others flying to the ground.
[As the simulation ends, you recover any hit points lost and spell slots/limited use abilities spent during the simulation. Then, as the explosion happens, you must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw, taking 7 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.]
Princess shudders as the electric jolts her, but immediately begins looking around at the other cadets to make sure no one is stuck in their chairs. As long as she doesn’t see anyone trapped, she will turn her attention to the source of the pulses.
Looking to your teammates, you see that most of you were able to avoid taking a direct hit from the lightning, but Zoide is leaking some kind of oily fluid from a blackened hole in his casing. You note that Miken and his party vanished along with the rest of the simulation; you recall that they we taken to a separate simulation chamber.
As bad as the blast was for all of you, it seems like it was focused primarily toward Saerthe; the human is badly injured but pulling themself up from the ground with a stream of particularly inventive swearing. Their clothing is covered in scorch marks, their face has multiple small lacerations and one eye already puffy with bruising, and most shockingly of all, their immaculate pompadour has several strands of hair out of place. "What in Asmodeus's hairy armpit was that?" they demand.
"Unclear," replies Master Blip, examining his console. "Some form of instability formed in the illusion matrix. The resulting asymmetry produced a magical field delta gradient which in turn caused a self-reinforcing standing wave in the—"
"Yes, yes, but what made the instability in the first place?" Saerthe cuts the autognome off.
“Oi teach! Ifin wer ba ear, ow bas de ther?” Princess drags herself to her feet as she speaks. Her hair and clothes are still immaculate, as a quick brush of her hands puts everything back in place. Since her crew all seem alive, she’s now far more concerned with the safety of the other team.
(Hey Teacher! If it was bad here, how bad is the others?)

Eris was the last to get up. The Catian appeared to be really disorientated after the sudden blast and just witnessed Icarus and Princess bolting out of the door to check on Miken's team. She stumbles on her feline feet as she finds something to get a grip on to balance herself. "Ugh... What was... what happened?" Eris weakly groans as she pulls out a cell-phone-like device which heals injuries by scanning them and tends to her own wounds. (Cure wounds: 11) "Another attack on the headquarters? But why? And how's Miken? Are his crew ok?!"

As Icarus heads for the door, he feel a tingling at his side; some of the lightning energy is clinging to his rapier, and as he watches it appears to soak into the blade, which begins to glow with a gentle light. [Your rapier is now a Moon-Touched sword (rapier)!]
He and Princess run to the next simulation chamber, where you find Miken helping his teammates to their feet. His cheeks blush deep red as they thank him for tackling them out of the way of the blast. Nasty scorch marks on the floor suggest they would've been even worse off than your team if they'd taken a direct hit. As it is, the blast seems to have centered on Boatswain Tarto, who was overseeing this group's training. The old hadozee is leaning heavily on a console, demanding, "Who in the hells has been messing with my training program?!"
Meanwhile, Mister Blip replies to Zoide, "External interference with the matrix could produce such an instability. Yes. That is possible."[Anyone can give me a Perception or Investigation check to search either simulation chamber for evidence.]

Mission update: Captain, my analysis and collecting of data from this place must be put on hold. Right now my current team has been sabotaged during a simulations test by some unknown form of... magic, they call it... and I must find and put a stop to this threat before anything else goes worse. I'll make sure to succeed. For the whole Catian crew (And Kio of course! I still miss him so much!)Eris begins scribbling more notes in her notepad as the same device that she used to heal herself lights up and scans the entire chamber just like any scout of her kind would when visiting a new planet. (She casts Detect Magic; If unable to, Investigation: 13)
Icarus readies to help the other cadets onboard to safety.
