Thulgrim CON Save: 17 Roland CON Save: 22
The multi-colored glow of the creature's eyes return but it can do no more than blink before Thulgrim has leapt over the brazier's green flame and hammered both axes into the creature's hide. It attempts to float backward but is anchored by the axes, and it finds itself defenseless against the fast-arriving Nemean and Roland. Wounds opening all around it, it finally frees itself and ascends 15 feet into the air, avoiding Finna's incoming missile, its head cresting the room's ceiling. Blood pours from the wound left by Roland.
At the same time, a beam emanates from a yellow eyestalk, striking Thulgrim in the chest, and a red beam fires from the creature's large eye, blasting into Roland's shoulder. The beams impact with enough force to push Thulgrim back a few inches and spin Roland to the side, but neither seems to have had much effect.
The glow from the creature's eyes flickers. The voice speaks to you telepathically once more, weaker this time. "Nothing...will interrupt..."

A roar of anguish fills your minds as Nemean expertly fires an arrow directly into an eyestalk, stopping the next beam before it can emerge.
"...my..."
Finna plants her next shot into the main eyeball. The creature flails, slamming itself against the ceiling and a wall.
"...duty..."
The creature dies, fulfilling its duty to the last. As it falls, Thulgrim leaps ten feet into the air, slamming both axes into its hide and dropping it to the ground for good.
OOC: Each character has received 175 XP for defeating the spectator!
Ye served long and well, but yer time is done, says Thulgrim to the dead monster as he wipes his axe blades. Then crossing back over to the table, he picks up the mace and breastplate again, looks at them long and hard and then turns back to the others. I'll 'ave to check with Nundro first, but I ken he'll agree. If ye can make use o' these I'd like ye to 'ave em, as gratitude fer 'elping to clear th' mine. How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
"A pity," with genuine regret commented Finna, "but duty without brain usually end up like this." "I guess it makes mine all clear and ready to operate? Provided, you deal with the fungus. I'd recommend careful burning, though, try not to breath the smoke."
"Oh, and thank you," Finna did not reject a generous offer, "if this thing is truly working - would not mind to add some fire to my scimitar. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but magic does help in some fights."
Nemean walks up to the forge and examines it... after a few moments of losing himself staring into the green flames, he reaches out with his scimitar and places the blade over the fires of the Forge of Spells and waits with anticipation...

The green flames of the brazier lick at the scimitar, and have no effect at first, seemingly not even powerful enough to heat the weapon. However, as the next minute passes, the scimitar catches fire - not simply burning red like a weapon in a smith's forge, but the metal of the weapon itself becomes wreathed in dancing green motes of flame. The slight imperfections in the weapon's crafting disappear; nicks in the blade repair, tiny cracks in the hilt mend, and by the end of one minute, there is not a blemish to be seen in the blade.
OOC: Mechanically, you are now looking at a +1 scimitar.
Thulgrim, watching with initial disappointment as the flame licks the blade, lets out a grunt of surprise as the magic kicks in and enchants the scimitar. So there's magic in there yet! Clanggedin be praised, Gundren will be 'appy t' know that. Finna, try yours next.
