Cainneach sends an arrow into the bushes his keen eyes finding the target within, but the shaft does not penetrate the cloaked figures armour.
Thatchs shaft bristles from the rightmost mans chest as Thatch disappears into the trees to the north.
Famh also dashes north toward the tree cover, as she does so the object she threw at the hidden attackers suddenly turns to mist which becomes a huge grey furred wolf shoulder-height with a man.
Suddenly three more figures appear as if out of nowhere, shimmering into existence at the rear of the two armoured men, the one in the centre is a handsome looking man in a reinforced scarlet dyed gambeson, at his side two robed men, their cloaks trimmed with raven feathers. One hooded and cleanshaven, the other a heavy black beard and dismissive sneer.
The handsome man calls out, " Almeric, you old bastard! Fancy seeing you here. These fellows are offering rather a lot of money for your head."
The bearded man glares at the handsome one, " Bah, Haud yer weesht, ya daft bastiche. Kill Them!"
Almeric squints looking up the road, " Sir Tallow, Digby now I suspect....Your reduced to this then? Couldn't find any women or children to slaughter locally then?"
Digby chuckled back, " Ah, Almeric.....always the champion of the heathens.....though if they're willing to pay I'm happy to overlook their lapses."
( Sir Almeric Wisdom Save- 11 )
The clean shaven hooded figure snarled and held up a hand toward Sir Almeric tightening it slowly into a fist.
( ( Sir Almeric Wisdom Save- 19 )
The bearded man looked to Cainneachnarrowed his eyes and then seemed to become wreathed in wisps of shadow and darkness.
I don't think Ori can reach anyone without dashing so he will draw out a javelin as moves forward "And I thought we were going to miss out on having some fun on this trip!" He launches the javelin towards the bearded robed character, as he bellows at the oncomers.
Sir Almeric seems to pause as if confuse by something Digby said but he rallies as he gazes around at his companions and charges alongside Ori towards the fray.
( Uses Fortune From The Many to pass Saving Throw.)
Sir Almeric reaches behind himself and pulls out a short casting spear and throws it at the clean shaven robed man to the south of Sir Tallow.
Attack: 21 Damage: 5
( Vardi is up then its the bulk of the Baddies up for Round 2.)
Oris javelin glances off the strange shadow-stuff whipping around the bearded man, but Sir Almerics spear thuds into the other mans midsection causing him to cry out.
Vardi considers the situation, but having deduced that Almeric's head price does not appear to include a body, discards discourse, civil or otherwise, as a means of resolving the matter.
Instead, she slips her arm into her shield's grips and slaps her visor down as she swiftly moves up to where she can use her shield to protect the others.
(Can Vadri hold attack, move up with the other fighters and use her shield intercept trick as a response to incoming blows from the opposition?)
" 'Heathens', is't?," Famh mutters angrily to herself as she contemplates the sneering Sir Digby, who has himself just appeared in a cloud of sorcery no less blatant than that which would have had Famh herself burnt at the stake in Marrowglen had she not succeeded in concealing it. The purpose in her mind has completely altered in the few moments since the arrogant Albish knight made his debut on the Beltayn - Mor Steading road. She hopes Cainneach will not worry too much for her if he should guess her purpose, but her Thulish pride and self-respect will not allow her to rest and heal herself until she inflicts upon Tallow Digby a splinter that has been festering in her mind ever since the conspiracy against Baron Aldred was unmasked. To wit, she now wants to make HIM bray like a jackass. Looking about and failing to see Myrddin in the immediate vicinity, she prepares to do just that. But there is also method behind her apparent madness. She hopes that the sudden lapse into bestial behaviour on the part of their hired champion will distract and confuse his native employers ... or at least give them pause long enough for one of her companions to take advantage of the momentary lapse.

Held action changed to minor illusion as above; followed by Intimidation or Deception roll [with Tides of Chaos applied for advantage] if D_M thinks appropriate)
Even as the notion to make Sir Digby Tallow pay for past and present indignites by becoming the jackass in her immediate plan of distraction trickles deliciously through Famh's mind, a second thought is not slow in following hard on its' heels. That is, that she is almost sure that she saw Thatchalso sprint towards the woods on the same side of the road she is now on; and that working together they could sow far more confusion amongst their liegelaird's foemen than working separately. She considers ways and means of signaling him to alert him to the possibility of collaboration; in the end the simplest she can think of is also the one that she thinks is best suited to the tactical needs of her companions and friends. And the most satisfying to her personal feelings. After demonstrating to the world just exactly what kind of animal's soul she thinks Sir DIgby has exchanged his own for, she will use her magic to make her voice appear to slowly recede into the northern woods, always calling taunts, always juist a maddening pace or twa ahead of any pursuers' range of vision ...

Held action #2 (possibly overlapping into helds for round 3; timing depends on D_M's ruling. Spell description for minor illusion says that it costs 1 action to cast; and that if it is used to make a sound as here, the sound can continue unabated throughout the 1 minute duration or the caster can make discrete sounds throughout. Vardi charged up beside Ori holding her shield before her she charged the rightmost mercenary to little effect but held her shield ready to protect Ori.
Hidden in the woods Famh began summoning mystical energies to her purpose, as Skoggi and Salt both bolted into the trees between Thatch and Famh to avoid any errant arrows.
The huge fay wolf snarled into the brush before it and lunged at someone hidden there, sinking its fangs into the shoulder of a lithe cloaked figure that it dragged out into the open blood streaming from its jaws as the figure struggled.
All the figures hidden in the bushes stood clear and the two dressed in black dyed plaid and hoods threw blades at the wolf that was savaging their mentor.

Glancing about her one last time before she unleashes her own brand of magic, Famh sees no reason to substantially alter her plans; though if she hears Thatch's whisper clearly enough to guess where he is (Perception 19), she will revise it by having her own voice first whisper in his ear explaining her idea ... right after she gets done revealing the ass in Sir Digby. As Thatch listens to the hideous noises emanating from Sir Digby's throat, a part of his mind can't help analyzing the sounds from a professional point of view. All in all, they are quite an accurate sonic portrayal of a balky ass or mule in the throes of mortal terror. The equerry suspects at once that Famh is responsible, for he has had to listen many times on the journey north to her grumblings over the campfire concerning her previous missed opportunity to do just this to another knight who richly deserved it. He is still wondering whether Famh has actually managed to capture the nuances of a terrified, OLD, SICK jackass caught between vomiting and passing more malodorous products of its digestion elsewhere, when he suddenly hears her voice quietly tickling the long hairs that curl around the back of his left ear.
Thatch:

The voice trails off meaningfully, presuming that Thatch is experienced enough by now in these sorts of affrays not to require further instruction as to what comes next 😼😈😏...
Cainneach is initially stunned by the sheer number of attackers and the chaos they are sowing, but his party seems to have absorbed the first assaults of these ne'er-do-wells rather well. Fortunately, the dire wolf has dragged his target out into view and done it some damage. The forester now hopes to put the treacherous fiend out of their misery. After running 15-20' northeast of his current location, hewing closer to the treeline and gaining a better angle on the various combatants, Cainneach looses another arrow.
