"Time to try some new tricks!" Taxidea says. He uses metamagic to quicken a spell and casts Greater Invisibility as a bonus action. Then he casts Burning Hands (3rd Level) aiming to catch as many enemies as possible (and no allies) in the 15' cone that seems to come from thin air.
Dex save DC 14 for 1/2 damage, anything flamable not being worn catches on fire. Damage: 18

Taxidea manages to fry several goblins with his attack. Only four are left inside the room, none in the hall. Two hobgoblins take damage but are still standing in the hall blocking the door. Between them is a single, lone goblin.
One hobgoblin swings wildly in the direction of the flames in an attempt to find the source but misses. The other hobgoblin shoots an arrow at Prim but misses. The goblin stands his ground.
Upon hearing Prim's warning and seeing the flames, most of the Frelians and mercenaries are able to dodge out of the way of Taxidea's flames. A few get singed, though. Some of them move out to chase down any goblins already elsewhere in the building or on the grounds outside.
Orion casts Locate Object to get a fix on where the orb is currently, and moves that direction.
Okay. If everyone is headed in the same direction, towards the commotion in the research section of FDF HQ, roll initiative.

Yes, the Frelians and goblins are in melee combat, and yes, the hall is wide enough, about ten feet wide.
Two hobgoblins move back into the room while one blocks the doorway and shoots its longbow over the heads of the goblins into the Frelian defenders.

Hail of thorns damage on everyone within 5 feet of the hob archer: 7

Orion then moves closer to the hallway, staying out of the way of incoming spell casters.
The archer and the other hobgoblin go down, leaving the goblin boss to duck back into the room and closing the door.
