The elderly man seems a bit out of breath. "I am not your grandfather young man, but I am looking for my daughter. Can you help me look for her. I know she came this way. Perhaps a day or 2 before me."
He takes out a red patterned handkerchief "She would be wearing this pattern on her clothing. It belonged to her mother." For moment he looks sad as he holds on to the handkerchief a little tighter
“We’ve seen no sign yet, but I’ll be glad to help you look. Was she walking alone? It’s good that it hasn’t rained as they may be some hope of finding tracks,” Duncan says as he looks around for any sort of trail that people might normally follow. ((Survival? 6))
‘Grandfather’ is just how people refer to older men that they don’t know to be respectful here :) It’s better than just saying ‘old man’
edit.. Jesus h… my rolls are SHIT here… someone else do something better! :D
"Yes she was alone. She has such a stubborn streak in her." says the elderly man. "Where are my manners I am Willoughby Marsenth and my daughter is Ellesia Marsenth"
You notice there is a family crest on the metal adornment on his pouch.

“Oh yes, yes, yes my good man. We can help you look for your daughter. Why exactly was Ellesia out here? Perhaps we could team up, join together in our search for her? Power and protection in numbers and all of that. My name is Kasbis. Very nice to meet you. This is Duncan and Hrathen. Do you know which direction she might be headed?”

"Ellesia said she wanted to forge a path of her own like our pioneering ancestor. She mentioned the Breor Mesas, but I am at a loss on where she would go from here. I hope I was fast enough to not be too far behind her. Of course I welcome your aid." says Willoughby Marsenth.
Kasbis remembers the Marsenth family deals in textiles and weapons. A union of Agria and Marsenth family. Over the years the Marsenth family has dwindled where they are just of shadow of their former selves.

“Northwest! Come with us, Willoughby! Say, what do you know of these parts?” Kas sets off, having Gaz slither along the footprints once pointed out. (Is it the cooler portion of the day currently?)

At the sound of battle already in progress, Duncan pulls his glaive around ready to charge in, "Don't worry sir! If it's your daughter we'll help her. But if battle has commenced there is no time to wait!" He then runs around the corner to see what's happening.
Kasbis comes to within 60 feet and flings a mote of mica out while shouting “Calambusto!” again, directing the energy at the Raider Leader and anyone hanging back so that he doesn’t risk injury to the woman who is apparently Ellesia (is she wearing any of that pattern of fabric by the way?). He casts shatter to damage the leader and any of the others around him.
Those affected by the spell take 14 thunder damage, taking half damage on a DC 13 constitution save. He stays away from the fray and does not rush in, preferring to attack from a distance.

You get the feeling that Willoughby is sincere.

Willoughby gets on his Mule and says "Lets hurry." He follows along after Kasbis
After and hour of traveling you hear the clash metal and furious grunts around a corner of the mesa. .
Willoughby hurriedly dismounted and unsheathes a longsword shakily. "I have to help. It might be my daughter."

Because I think a map is helpful for things like Duncan's reaction, I put it here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1LzcpIuGc3f84fgSrMk-gUM5mFcL-HVa6Rs5qkFBP7Dg/edit#gid=1240699571
I assumed based on the description that they were all surrounding here, though you said the leader is standing back. The sheet is actually open for anyone to edit, so you can make changes if you think I'm missing something.
