If cats were capable of giggling, there was no telling if Jack would've been able to fully resist the urge by the time he reached his destination. Not with so many amusing reactions noted in passing, and uplifting his spirits a bit. Such amusement, however, was a fleeting thing. A small candle soon to be quietly snuffed as the compulsion -- nay, whole hearted desire to do his part for the party spurred him into action.
But where to look? Where to find bones again? Why no where else than one of two places! The Lady or Lord's closest, or a basement! At least that is what he assured himself. So, with Nivi already tackling the one possibility upstairs, that left him with -- 'Ah~ There's the other door I was spotted before, and so foolishly thought to lead to the kitchen. Oh past Jack, you were and are a most presumptuous fool' Jack quietly mused while padded along past the couches on over to a door to the north, ready to once again squeeze his head at the very least underneath it if at all need/possible to see and sniff(24) at what lay on the other side for anything of interest.
Although if the door was already cracked open then, there was little in the way of hesitation on the Eladrin's part before squeezing on inside for a better at things.

Nivi/Karl's lips quirk in a sardonic smile as she temporarily puts down the chest partway down the stairs and draws her rapier, taking in the scene, the charred remains of the two serving staff smeared on the floor. Well. That accelerated quickly, yeah? Killers we are, after all. All exceptShorty, turns out.
She darts in with Shiv on her shoulder, thinking to strike the manacled Lady Wachternon-lethally but finds herself compelled to attack the one who had exhorted Lady Wachter to flee unharmed instead. (Nivi's failed WIS Save against Sanctuary: 4, Natural 1).
The owl flies in Staff 4's face instead, flapping his wings and returning to Nivi's shoulders using Flyby. Taking the help action.
Action: Nivi/Karl cold cocks Staff 4 using Booming Blade with the her rapier's pommel, a non-lethal blow. With advantage thanks to Shiv'shelp: Rapier to hit (with advantage): 25 Rapier damage plus Sneak Attack: 13 + 8 = 21non-lethal Booming Blade additional secondary damage if target moves voluntarily before Nivi's next turn: 7 thunder (would be lethalif it applies)
Nivi/Karl turns to the other assailant (Staff 3 who had thrown the Alchemists' Fire), speaking in the halting sing song of an adolescent male drunk, though Beren , Olamoira (and Jack in feline form) would likely recognize Nivi's deadpan sarcasm by now.
"Bold strategy... Setting the house on fire and all. Let's see if it pays off..."
Bonus Action: Nivi/Karl staggers away, taking the disengage action (Cunning Action) and moving back up the steps to guard the chest, rapier in hand. Shiv remains on her shoulder, looking avidly interested in the proceedings for the first time since the Imp.
(Throughout this, Nivi/Karl's demeanor is that of unpredictable, partially oblivious inebriation. Sowing confusion. Random cruelty towards domestic staff, strange comment about the fire, staggering back towards his room. All things Karl might do. Though the owl and the Booming Blade, not so much).
Jack tries as he might, but fails to open the door. Poseable thumbs he was lacking, making it much harder, had he became a monkey... it would have been far easier! But a catspaw smooth as it was, and lacking in 'grip' outside of things it could hook it's claws into... was hard. The door remaining closed.
(Sorry Nivi, I forgot to put the DC because i've been playign too much BG3 .. where sanc just.. works, I forgot it had a save at all. Thats on me)
In the case of Staff4, they would be knocked out instantly. If not for the bit of restraint shown, their skull would have caved in from the raw force of the blow. Crumpling to the ground in a heap. Leaving staff3 alone aside from Wachter herself who's eyes were now on the fire from the ignoramus who thought throwing such a thing within a wooden structure was 'intelligent strategy' then again, those she had chosen...
Wachter though, is blessed by the fact that Sanctuary is not a concentration spell, and is thusly still protected by it despite the failing of the one who cast it. Wachter stands, Dashing away, which would provoke AOO's from both Moira and Beren (though you must pass a DC 11 Wis save or be unable to attack (and since this is an AOO the attack can't be redirected))
It was then that a shadow appeared in the door behind Beren. The real Karl had appeared. Having been left alone in the alley, he had likely been woken up by someone passing by and spotting him. His mouth agape as he watched what was happening before him. Mother...Go! he shouted as she dashed off. Tears beginning to stream down his face as he jumps on Berens back, crowding the hallway even farther. Wachter just barely making it to the other end of the hall (half movmement) I won't let you take her from me too! Karl screamed in impotent teenage rage.
The boy attempting to grapple the knight. Grapple check: 21 Vs Berens Athletics or Acrobatics.

The light flickers at the Staff3's comment, but Beren gives no response as the flaming vial misses his head and instead sets the house on fire. The light flashes as the spell Sanctuary is placed on Watcher and the staff member tells her to flee... great now this is getting out of hand...
Then Nivi joins the fray, darting in and out still disguised as Karl. Hopefully that means she's found the bones. Perhaps it was foolishness to rush in after them after all. The thoughts just brew more anger as Beren begins thinking about things that could happen.
As Wachter attempts to escape, he raises his sword with the intent of finishing her off. Unfortunately, he is stopped in his tracks by the blasted spell placed over her and then jumped from behind by someone. He tenses as he recognizes Karl's voice. The realization causes him to freeze further, and for a moment the light behind the mask flickers sporadically as his mind wanders... The house is on fire, plaguing him with even more accursed heat. Not only that, but Karl is here trying to protect his mother. Whether or not Wachter is a devil worshiper, this boy is still her son and he is doing what he can to save her. Yet that power inside Beren is still urging him to destroy the evil that is escaping his grasp.
With an angered shout he barely manages to throw Karl off of him, slamming the boy into the wall and pushing him away as he barely manages to keep ahold of the rage inside of him. Light leaks from between the links of his armor and through slats in the mask, threatening to break free and further add to the blazing furnace this hallway in which they stand. Not yet, he can't... not yet. If he were to unleash the Light, then Moira would be caught up in it too.
Breathing heavily, he fixes his gaze on Wacther as she runs away, "Return," he growls. "And face the punishment you've brought upon yourself."
He speaks a Command to Wachter, since he cannot attack her. DC Wis 13 save. (This is not a "harmful" spell so I think it should still work???)
(OOC: I'm not sure how much HP she's got left, or if Moira would be able to knock her out or intercept her with her AOO. But in the case that does happen Beren will instead attack the remaining staff member.)
If Wachter is restrained/felled, Beren swings his sword at Staff 3, seeking to end the life of the fool who set the house on fire...
I will be doing some LIGHT retcon in light of the information in the PM. Beren may adjust his turn appropriately, and then I can continue.
In this case, Wachter wouldn't be able to get away. My original thought was that Moira had grappled Wachter, THEN cast Moonbeam, which would have required her hands, this freeing Wachter. I apologize for that AND the time it's taken me to actually update. Hell tonight i had a 12 hour out of nowhere but i wasn't gonna postpone any longer.
As for spells, as logn as the spell itself is not an 'attack' it will work on her regardless no wis save required.
This means Wachter couldn't run away, therefore not triggering AoO's.
Wachter is still in place, failed her check to escape the bindings, let along Moira's grasp.
Karl is still tossed to the side.
You may change your action to anything you wish instead. If you still wish to attack Staff 3... well I'll let you keep your roll above.
Please inform me what you do with this new turn and I will adjudicate from there.
(No worries, I'll retcon my post. I'll keep my previous rolls, so Beren's intent was to hit Wachter, but he fails the save so he redirects his attack to staff3)

In spite of the Sanctuary placed on Wachter, he raises his sword with the intent of finishing her off. Unable to attack Wachter, he instead directs his blow at the one remaining staff member (Staff 3)
Ola stays where she is, still holding onto Wachter, and the silvery pool of [spell]Moonbeam[spell] light, just touching Lady Wachter's toes, moves so that it bathes her entire figure in its pale and ominous light. She feels the burning heat radiating off of Beren, as well as from the flames. A sheen of perspiration from the heat beads on her black skin, and a feeling of faintness like what she gets when she's in the sunlight too long tugs at her. Oh, I'm not worthy yet.... not yet... she watches as if in a trance, Beren throw Karl off of him. She remembers Karl's distress in his wounded unconsciousness in the alley. That poor boy. But her hands are full. The devil worshippers have stated their allegiance, and the judgment is on them now. She stands resolutely, the moonlight bathing Lady Wachter.

Beren, whether by intention or otherwise, splits the man in half, cleanly. Guts and gore spilling over onto the floor, coating his sword and his armor, the man not even able to let out a scream. Just a guttural 'Huch' the instant before his life flickered out. Leaving only Wachter and her Son's' - The real Karl slammed off of Beren forcefully, leaving the boy Prone on the floor for now. Pain, Fear, and Anger filling the Youths expression as he takes in the scene where another him, and several other people stood nearby. Wachter noticing as well that she now has two Karls.... and she has a fairly good guess at which is the real one.... considering actions taken.
(Con Save: 7 )
Original Nat 20 (21)
Damage: 10
It seems Wachter, spurred on by the sight of her real son manages to nearly fully resist the otherwise potent effects of the radiant spell. Wachters eyes shift to her son... Karls eyes meet hers as he lays on the ground, breifly stunned and near the slowly spreading fire. In Karls eyes a mixture of confusion at seeing another him... Anger at those attacking his mother, Moira knowing that his father had passed by his unconscious words.... and Fear at what was about to happen next.
The fire slowly spreads up the wall (5ft) and one square in each direction, just barely meeting the floor.
Although Jack could practically feel a ripple in reality as forces beyond most comprehension try to mend incongruous perspectives, as none of it pertained to the obstacle sat before him, it's all ultimately paid very little mind. The sound of the real Karl yelling, however, was a bit harder to dismiss without at least a glance back. 'Now that's quite an unexpected wrinkle... is what I'd think, had the dominoes of consequences not been lined up clearly enough. Alas-' He turned back towards the door. 'More dastardly wrinkles are bound to make themselves known once the fire spreads enough, making things even more.... awkward. So, best we hurry this along'.
With that final thought, Jack's feline form disintegrates into dust and leaves(Bonus Action), before then being whipped up into a cyclone that quickly dissipates, revealing the druid in all his glory and already in the process of opening the door. Then without missing a beat, he steps on inside for a better angle and look...

Nivi/Karl, back at the stairs guarding the chest, sends Shiv gliding in to flap his wings at Baroness Wachter's face once more, taking the help action. This time, following immediately after her familiar, she is able to overcome the protection of Sanctuary warding the noblewoman.
As the rogue re-enters the central room, her (faux-Karl's) expression remains cool, yet her eyebrows rise once more at the carnage. To this point, the only creature Nivi has killed in the Wachter House has been the imp that stung her nearly lethally. Everyone else, she has knocked unconscious.
That pattern continues as Nivi/Karl smashes the pommel of her rapier against Lady Wachter's temple in a steel-reinforced sucker punch (non-lethal). Her target is bathed in booming bluish energy as Nivi casts Booming Blade (which admittedly could cause lethal thunder damage).
Action: Nivi attacks Lady Wachter with Booming Blade using a non-lethal blow from her rapier, with advantage thanks to help from Shiv. Rapier to hit: 18 Rapier damage plus Sneak Attack: 7 + 11 = 18 (non-lethal) Booming Blade secondary damage only if Lady Wachter moves voluntarily before Nivi's next turn: 4 thunder (this would be lethal).
IF the attack knocks Lady Wachter out, Nivi turns to the real Karl with an uncharacteristically solemn expression on her face.
"Dad's upstairs, you know Karl? Found him motionless on the master bed, dressed to the nines, coins on his eyes. No wounds, yeah? Did he pass? Body hasn't rotted. Go see for yourself." Nivi's eyes remain strangely inward-focused as she speaks, as if she is thinking of someone else entirely.
Free Action: Nivi/Karl takes the key to the master bedroom from the butler's keyring and tosses it to the real Karl.
"Not planning on taking out your mom right now. Least I'm not..." She glances at Beren and Olamoira as if to ask... was this massacre really necessary? "Someone going to take care of the fire? Got magic - could help, but also got this... item on the stairs needs carrying, Beren. Or Prophet."
Bonus Action: (Only if necessary to disengage, Nivi does so using Cunning Action).
Movement: Back towards stairs so she can keep an eye on the chest she put there and guard it. But ready to come back next turn to try to use Shape Water to siphon water from the kitchen to hopefully put out the fire... (of course who knows what will have happened by then!).

All except Shorty, turns out.
She darts in with Shiv on her shoulder, thinking to strike the manacled Lady Wachter non-lethally but finds herself compelled to attack the one who had exhorted Lady Wachter to flee unharmed instead.
With advantage thanks to Shiv's help:
Rapier to hit (with advantage): 25
Rapier damage plus Sneak Attack: 13 + 8 = 21 non-lethal
Booming Blade additional secondary damage if target moves voluntarily before Nivi's next turn: 7 thunder (would be lethal if it applies)

Attack: 22 Damage: 10
Apologies again. This was my mistake.
Occassional Dungeon Master.
(No worries, I'll retcon my post. I'll keep my previous rolls, so Beren's intent was to hit Wachter, but he fails the save so he redirects his attack to staff3)

In spite of the Sanctuary placed on Wachter, he raises his sword with the intent of finishing her off. Unfortunately, he is stopped in his tracks by the blasted spell placed over her and then jumped from behind by someone. He tenses as he recognizes Karl's voice. Unable to attack Wachter, he instead directs his blow at the one remaining staff member (Staff 3)
Attack: 24. Damage: 21

Nivi WIS Save against Sanctuary: 17
Rapier to hit: 18
Rapier damage plus Sneak Attack: 7 + 11 = 18 (non-lethal)
Booming Blade secondary damage only if Lady Wachter moves voluntarily before Nivi's next turn: 4 thunder (this would be lethal).
