Firebrand nearly belches out a ball of flame as his eyes widen in shock at the sight of the dragon egg... but he manages to choke back the flames before scorching the deck/onlookers.
"You're telling us that you managed to steal a dragon egg... and that the dragon you stole from just destroyed your ship... and now you've brought the cause of your misfortune onto OUR ship? As strange as this may sound, I am not a huge fan of my larger and more aerodynamic cousins... but I do know what they are capable of and how bad an idea it is to make an enemy of one unnecessarily..."
He clamps his mouth shut after saying his piece and leaves with his companions to discuss the absolute travesty on hand.
"Life's too short not to gain the most wealth and happiness from it," Grim replies rather curtly to Firebrand. "You're a holy man so I can see you'll never understand such things..." he adds with his familiar air of confidence whether he's a fool or not to others Grim seems to have a resolute air about him.

"We need to focus on the task at hand and these thieves will find justice in the morning when we leave them in Batali where the proper authorities will deal with then," they explain offering their arm to their cousin. "Apologies for not expressing this plan earlier...I was unsure of it's fruition until but a moment ago," they nod at Glyph and Jada. "I will keep an eye on those below, " they then add as Adhida takes their arm and nods. "Please let me know of any trouble," they add lingering to answer any more questions.

The first watch is easy. The sand storm seems to have made the desert oddly calmer than ever before. Jada spots for the first time at his vantage on deck of the night creatures that populate this endless wasteland! Flashing eyes and sleek bodies dart about the sand below finding whatever they can to live. Noone comes on deck the gith notices other than those who are on the crew and his watch passes without incident.
Glyph comes on deck from his resting place and swaps with Jada. He's less attuned with the desert beyond but notices everything and everyone moving about the deck especially the female Greenbrier twin, I've. The elf seems to be looking out into the darkness of the Scorched Sea but not speaking to anyone. A crew members passes and acknowledges her with a nod od their aarakocra head but the elven twin does nothing but stare out at the desert.
Glyph watches the twin for a bit before approaching. Although quite tired, he pastes a smile on his face and moves at a jaunty pace. "How is your companion?"

"Alive but barely, " Ivey replies with a cool tone but not looking at Glyph as she speaks. The beautifyl female elf look out into the desert before she begins again. "Who duped you into hauling your carcass here," she then asks taking out a flask from her boot and sipping it gingerly before offering it to Glyph. For the first time making eye contact. "We owed a debt," she gestures now back at the cargo hold below. "You don't look so foolish as Grim seems to think you are," she adds her tone slightly lowered as if conspiratorial whispering!
The wind howls over the ship as it lazily passes through the night. It's not a full moon and the distance lights flickering out in the desert could be camp fires or horrors, no one can be sure at this distance!
"A debt? That's terrible."Glyph rests his forearms on the deck rails and leans on them. "As for my level of foolishness. Well, I would not consider myself to be a fool, no."
The half-elf takes a minute to size up the elf, before settling on a version of the truth. Performing a role he often doesn't display--the unboastful adventurer--he continues, "I did not lie to your dwarven friend. I'm somewhat of an adventuring author. I earn my coin by writing about faraway lands and creatures. Perhaps it's fool's errand. Hopefully it will end up paying the bills."

Firebrand gasps in surprise as a poisoned blade bounces off his armor! In a split-second he goes from fast asleep to completely alert! Whoever this person is, they have no idea what they're dealing with... they are dealing with the Avatar of Vengeance! Firebrand uses his Bonus Action to activate Vow of Enmity upon his would-be killer, gaining advantage on all attack rolls against this assassin for 1 minute or until he/she falls to 0 hit points.
With a roar, he attempts to repay his would-be assassin with a slash at the neck, followed by a thrust to the gut!
