I am utterly paranoid at this point. I want to find out if this guy is really and old man. Can I do a perception or arcana check for that? I don't have any spells that would help.
Hi, the DM invited me to the forum and I am very excited to participate! My last (and first) game managed to screw up and play 4th edition on accident instead of 5th, so I'm really glad to be in something a bit more structured. Since everything else (readable) on the rainbow is taken, my character, Ettelet the Kobold Fighter will use purple text!

I wanted to read more about them and was struck by the size of their feet, but maybe that's why he tripped: not used to wearing shoes. :D

That must be a natural 20. That kobold has no idea who is talking to him xD.
Thats what I was thinking. You can always tell max roll because the number is green. min roll is red. all the rest are blue

I'm guessing it is a fairly safe assumption that kobolds are generally at about the same level as goblins, gnolls, orcs, etc on the social hierarchy?
