Stone turns to Natasha,

"You have already proven yourself a fine and accomplished scout. Would you mind sneaking up yonder and checking what is causing that disturbance. If you should need assistance all you have to do is signal and I will come to your side."

(Natasha runs her finger down Stone's arm.)

"Of course, my dear."

(She stealthily goes to scout the area.)

To everyone else waiting for Nat to get back: “*grunt* Are those they? Them? The mephits? Or is that just mist? How do we tell?”

As Natasha sneaks up to the rocky outcrop, this is what you see;

The steam you see is not coming from the mephits, but from a natural hot spring. You spot three Steam Mephits, the same as the number of cages the party possesses. They all seem to be enjoying the hot springs; one is relaxing in the water while the other two hover in the steam. The mephit in the water turns towards its companions and makes a squeaky sound to get their attention. The other two stop what they are doing and watch as the first mephit picks up a nearby frog and inflates it with steam until the frog pops. All three mephits laugh with perverted glee as the frog’s remains are splattered across the hot spring. None of them notice the hiding Natasha. 

What do you want to do?

"Don't worry, I have a plan. Which of you 3 can shoot a bow?"

(She takes a couple of arrows, (2x arrow user), cuts off the tips, and ties a dart in it's place for each of the arrows. She hands it to each of them and also prepares her Blowgun.)

"Everyone come closer to the hot springs, but not too close. I'll go and (hopefully) shoot a dart into one of them, then run your way. They'll follow me, then you all can shoot the ones that come out. If we catch them by surprise like that, we'll probably have a good chance to drop them all before they can attack us."

(If everyone is agreeable to her plan, she guides them to a spot near the Hot Springs where they're close enough to shoot but not close enough to need to be very stealthy.)

"I'll take one of those darts for my crossbow. Let's hope we don't miss."

Jacob mimics Natasha's manipulations to his bolt, then kneels down and braces himself, looking down the sight of the crossbow intently with an itchy trigger finger...

Anyone making “Dart-arrows” needs to make a Dexterity check to see if you constructed something that can actually be used effectively in battle.

(Great idea, by the way.)

Out of the six dart-arrow hybrids that Natasha was trying to make, she is able to construct three. The remaining three darts and arrows are damaged in the process and unusable.

The party now possesses 9 tranquilizer darts and 3 tranquilizer arrows.

Stone addresses the group.

"Unfortunately I do not have a bow or crossbow. I have trained with javelins and have several of them, but nothing capable of firing arrows. I will proudly stand by though and use my shield to defend those of you brave enough to face these monsters."

"I have a crossbow, I can give it a try." Penelope will take a tranq. arrow for her crossbow.

"I assume we will each be aiming for a separate mephits and shooting at the same time. I shall wait for a signal then."

"Yes, Lena, I agree we should prepare for that. Lena, aim for the one on the left, Jacob, the one on the right. If I miss, I'll take the one in the middle. From behind Stone's shield, of course."

(Natasha smiles and helps everyone get in position. She sneaks back in position, brings the Blowgun to her lips, and fires off a dart!)

(She then shows herself to the Mephits, yells out, "Nanananana, can't catch me!" and runs like hell towards the safety behind Stone's shield.)

Stone stands at the ready with his shield in front of him to protect his companions. He says to Penelope over his shoulder,

"Ms. Penelope, I believe when Natasha was speaking to Lena she meant you. Please prepare accordingly."

Natasha uses the blowgun to nail a Mephit squarely in the neck!

Constitution Saving Throw: 13

The Mephit wobbles for a second, but is able to shake off the tranquiling effects of the dart.

(Natasha, roll for dart damage)

Natasha’s yell gains the attention of the three Mephits and they angrily head towards the source of taunting.

Everyone roll initiative. 

OOC: What is the dart damage roll supposed to be? Also, yes, mistyped a different character name, sorry!

Penelope will aim for the one in the middle, non lethal attack if possible.
