Could you describe the area in front of us? Like would we be walking through a gorge of some kind with elevated areas surrounding us? Even though we have dark to scout from above dont want to chance him getting taken out again and having to find him in a maze of walls.

The path ahead appears to be broken crags of rocky wasteland. There is sand lightly covering the ground, as it juts up into sharp juts. There are paths that are made from the breaks in the ground, large enough for people to walk through, like a gully or ravine. It appears to open up into a network of these passages over the ground ahead. The group can opt to follow in the gullies, getting some shade, or over the top, having to climb over the splits in the ground but have a more direct approach.
"So far we have been a jail like area and after we went down a pipe that looked like a demon mouth we ended up in a strange stone forest that was extremely dark, followed by a place that looked like a regular forest but the cieling was painted to be a sky and the grass was some kind of strange substance called sweet grass. Then the floor before this was corridors filled with strange stone guardians. We met the young elves and their former guardian there. After going up a long stair case we arrived here." Mara explained to them as she looked out over the vast expanse of the dessert.
(oohhhh! So its not quite as bad as I thought originally. Huh...)
"Not to mention someone has been pulling some serious strings behind the curtain. Least when it came to the golems and the sweet room... Not that we encountered the fella, but I'd by proxy it'd count." Rumble adds as he gravitates to sticking with the gullies. But, if folk make mention or want to try taking the more direct route across, he'll give them all a 'are you sure?' look before shrugging at taking the top.

Darnell wipes the sweat off his forehead ineffectively with the back of his hand. He glances longingly at the shade, however small, provided by the gully, but will stick with the majority of the group.
Killian thinks about which way to travel for a bit standing beside rumble, "although I'd prefer to stay in the shade, for safety reasons as you have mentioned taking the higher ground will keep us at an advantage." Taking a moment to check his foot coverings and water supply. "Seems this waterskin is only about 1/4 to 1/2 full after the last leg of our walk. How much do the rest of you have? Leo how much water do you need for your spell, or can you just create water?"

(So literally the last few drops need to be put into the spell. Nice. A spell that feeds itself!)
Rumble nods, though he too spared a longing looked towards the shadow. "Prolly bout forth now left, I think. And come to think of it... we prolly should've emptied the reserves for the most part before we left. That way come the next day?"He glances up towards the sky. "Or whatever you'd call time frame here. Point is, Leo would've been plenty rested for the next time we move."He glances back to Leo and gives him an apologetic look, as well as take most of the blame. "If we can, let's make that a priority for next time."
Rumble quiets after to loosely lead and keep watch for trouble at the head of the group as they went along.

"Only a drop. Rumble brings up a very good point however, I could have at least expended some magic before I rested. Even if it was to summon rain briefly that may be a nice way to lift spirits out here. The risk, of course, is that if something were to happen during that time I would not have my full magical ability, but sometimes the little things are worth it."
Okay, start off with a Group DC 13 [/skill]Athletics[/skill] Check. This will be for overall travel of traversing up and down the uneven areas and having climb bits and bobs.
(Dark, if you're flying declare so.)

At Steve's question, Darnell frowns, looking at his feet, then out across the sands.
And that's all I have to say about that.
(Are you guys walking and talking? If so, is it through the rocky crags ahead or planning to take a different route?)

Guess a little bit like...

"Strange, sounds like we both started in similar places, but we got out of our tower quickly after we went through the demon mouth..."

Rules Answer: Create or Destroy Water requires a droplet of water in order to create, or a grain of sand for destroy.
"I agree with everyone else's assessment. While shade would be nice, it does put us in a bit of extra danger."

Darnell stays in the back, scanning behind and in front of the group as well as he can. He plays with the leather of his sling as he walks.
And that's all I have to say about that.

(So going over or under?)

Mara will wait for the group to decide but is in agreement that going over would more likely be safer then if they tried going underneath.
