Grimbald steps into the room. It's a little unstable underfoot, Grimbald can see some bits of broken shelving and plinths scattered across the floor everywhere.
He can go up the stairs or investigate the bodies or the statues.
The rest see Grimbald moving slowly across the floor ahead of them as they enter the room to follow him.
As everyone looks around the room, trying to discern what Fael is growling at, Grimbald inspects the corpses. They appear to be withered and have been here a long time. They also seem to be old people, one woman dressed in old, pitted armour, one man dressed in leather armour which also shows signs of age. Were these old people who decided delving would be a good retirement hobby but who fell over and broke a hip? Or has something else happened here?
As you scan the room you notice, with an almost comical jerk of surprise, two things.
The statues have moved, although you didn't see them move. Where these angel statues initially had their hands over their eyes, now their hands are extended as claws and their faces look evil with sharp teeth. They are unmoving as befits a statue, but are much closer to you now.
And... Esa and Rustling Leaves are nowhere to be seen.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Augustin Looks around, comically startled. "No!" his Sceptre flashes with white flames as he moves to the closest of these moving/not moving statues.
He brings his full might to bear on one of the creatures:
Attack: 8 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Attack: 17 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
On hits the creature ignites in flames and must make a constitution saving throw at the start of each of its turns (DC 14) or take another 1d6 fire damage on a success the spell ends. A creature can use its action to douse the flames.
"Bring back my friends!" "Fael, keep an eye on them"
Fael will dodge and just make sure he has a bead on these things the whole time and communicates it to Augustin telepathically.
The mace strikes them, but nothing happens other than Augustin feels the shock of the blow. It's as if something is protecting them or they are under the effect of some magic that stops them being harmed, at least physically. The fire does scorch it though, a small sooty spot some of which appears to heal.
RL pops back into the room, looking a little frazzled.
Esa pops back in also, having come to the same conclusion that RL did and used the same remedy.
She sees Augustin bashing the angel statues.
"You can't hurt them with physic damage," she yells. "They are quantum-locked, at a fixed point in time. But maybe other spells might work!"
Vakiel raps on the statues, as if testing to see if they are stone. They seem to be. (This is a free action, he can still try some attack or action if he wants).
Grimbald has exited the room and is standing outside looking in, perhaps wondering why the others haven't followed.
Only Vakiel has an action left to take, if he wants.
"They don't seem to be moving now," says Esa, peering right into the statues' faces. "I wonder what triggered them? This is very strange. Anyone have any ideas?"

Grimbald moves to the exit, dashes!

Being Angel statues…. Does Vakiel know anything about them?
Nope, they are nothing he has ever experienced.

Vakiel is just going to back out towards Grimbald…if spells are needed there isn’t a lot he can offer except some light
