"See this is why I am definitely not going to tell anyone else about this. You're my good friend, and even you are trying to get a slice of my gold. I will need all my gold to last for the rest of my life. Ah well, even mighty delvers succumb to temptation. Can't blame you though."
He looks over to see Martina conversing with Augustin.
"I will let Martina make that choice," Marco continues. "I don't want to be with someone who doesn't really want to be with me."
Marco claps RL on the shoulder. He pulls out some silver from a pouch. No doubt his change from when he paid for the meal with a gold coin.

"I'll buy the next round."
Fair enough, I had to try. I have debts to pay off and I have never met anyone with as much money as you have lucked into. I apologise if I have offended you. I must go and find this bird at some point. Is there anything that marks it as different from an ordinary bird to look at?
RL goes back to his friends and tells them the extra information then assk'Esa, can you write any words in that new language of yours?'. I want to see if Margo recognises the look of the letters.
RL goes back to Marco,' marco, you have certainly had such good fortune. If you will share your bounty I will get Augustin to leave Martina alone so that you can get back to wooing her, say, 40 gold?'
Esa admits she's still quite new to Infernal, but she can probably write a few random words.

"Other than it going invisible and talking you mean?" Marco grins. "Not really, I wouldn't have given it a second look if it hadn't spoken to me."

Thank you Marco, we will pass on the warning to others to be on the lookout for it. Good luck with your search for a wife. May I suggest investing some of your money in yourself, some better clothes and try to not waste your funds needlessly. Maybe even assist some others who are not so fortunate.
Marco nods and heads off to re-engage with Martina and chats amiably to Augustin as well. Augustin's view is Marco is a simple man, who thinks himself smarter than he is, but has a good heart overall.
Before the team heads to Harken, Vakiel will do a couple of things....
Speak with Santos and ask if he would be willing to act as a guard escorting Augustins family to safety. Not sure if he's still in the practice of wielding a blade, but I'll ask the question.
Also, find Dar. Let him know to pass word around to avoid the old tower for the moment. There is a presence there that needs to be looked into eventually. Also, if Santos won't help ask who could come to act as a guard.
Dar Gremath hears Vakiel out and nods. "It's really a matter for the Elder. I'll wrap up what I'm doing here and head over to Gerrad's house and let him know."
Vakiel walks over towards Missy White's house, just outside of town on the river. Kids grab sticks as swords and attack, laughing as Vakiel responds with his own stick, calling them goblins. They eventually run off laughing when it starts to rain from grey skies. Vakiel considers how he never saw kids playing in the street when he first came to Harkenwold.
Arriving at Missy White's house, Santo answers the door. His dark eyes bore into Vakiel as if trying to discern his intent. Vakiel explains what he wants and Santo nods. He tells Vakiel to wait and goes inside, leaving the door open, perhaps as a sign of trust. There is a shelter over the door, so at least Vakiel is out of the rain. Vakiel hears conversation between Santo and Missy.
"I can come," says Santo, on his return, "as long as you supply a horse for me. I'll see you at the inn before the departure time. One thing - have you considered that the Baron and his family may be too unwell or injured to ride? Maybe a cart would be better? Also I am thinking I would like Sturven Nilsson, the carpenter, to come with us. He has his own horse and is skilled with many weapons. I know he would love to be involved. I think the battle of Albridge has stirred his blood and is thinking about delving."
“Many thanks for you assistance on this Santos, I’ll see what I can do about your requests”
Vakiel will seek out Grimbald, relay Santos requests & ask him to speak with the carpenter as he has previously dealt with him for the coffin, before going in search of someone (?) to ask about acquiring horses and a cart. This is a lot of interacting with others outside of shadows for Vakiel and he will need a drink tonight so he will also ensure his flask is filled before they depart.
Augustin drops some iron bits off at marigolds place, a thank you for the information she provided about spies two weeks ago. He makes note to say he is leaving to go ghost punching, and there may be some more iron in it if she lets others know that the Delvers of Albridge have left to pursue some other ventures temporarily.
Marigold smiles and refolds her robe about herself, giving just a hint of bosom. She accepts the iron bits gratefully and promises to spread the word. She waits to see if Augustin wants anything else.
Augustin remembers at the last minute he was going to see Missy White about water breathing. He finishes helping Onneth stow away barrels into the cellar, and heads off.
Santo greets Augustin at the door, as usual. He grunts and nods, and lets Augustin in. Missy is sitting at the table with a young woman with short dark hair and very pale skin. Missy greets Augustin and goes to introduce her companion, but falters, perhaps realising that the young woman might not want Augustin to know who she is.
"Just call me Brooke," said the woman, extending a hand. Her hand is cold to the touch.
"I've called Brooke in to supply the water breathing items you need," explains Missy. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to make them, it's actually tricky. And I had a few things to attend to. The rain has stirred up a lot in the river, plus I had to manage the water levels. It's demanding being a primal spirit of a river."
Brooke delves into a bag under the table. She stands and holds out a handful of small, blue orbs. “Okay, so all you need to do is lodge one of these into your throat when you go underwater and it should filter your inhaling and exhaling into the water. It will also change your hands and feet - if you want, you can control that - so you can have more mobility. It will be incredibly painful, and you’ll have a beast of a time getting them back out when you get back on dry land. I don’t envy you at all, but it should get the job done.” She smiles pleasantly.
Augustin takes the balls, nearly dropping one, and Brooke gives an exasperated sigh and gives the paladin her bag. Augustin puts the blue balls - one for every party member - in the bag and shoulders it. He thanks Brooke and Missy and leaves.
RL has organised horses and a wagon from Dar Gremath, who is giving them to the party on loan for the operation. "It will cause me great financial hardship if they are not returned," he had told RL.
The party head north, waving at the townsfolk who are watching.
"Off to delve into the Ghost Manor! Which is north!" yells out Augustin. "See you all soon!" Esa rolls her eyes. Augustin really isn't good at subterfuge.
As the sun sets Santo meets the party outside of town. He arrives with a selection of spears in a holder across his back, and a round shield on his arm. The shield has a dark cover over it. Arriving with Santo is the one-eyed carpenter, Stervun Nilsson on his own mount. Stervun has a greataxe, and wears hide armour.
Santo takes control of the wagon. They all ride north together for about an hour. Then they swing around and head for Tor's Hold, where they use the ferry to cross the White River. It is raining again, and the going is muddy and slower than normal, especially because the wagon makes the going even slower. At the occasional break, Santo acknowledges he had heard of Vakiel, but never met him, while Vakiel says the same of him. They appear to have a mutual respect for each other.
The group arrive in the woods near Harken village close to midnight, later than they were hoping for. RL and Grimbald move out of the woods and into the village while the others wait for the all clear.
Immediately they can see something is wrong. Old Kellar's house is cold and dark, and the doors and shutters are open. No Old Kellar. No Alesia.
They return to tell the others and to decide what to do.

RL will invite everyone to come back quietly to Old Kellar's house to see what can be learnt. RL will go as a Mastiff and keep an ear and nose out for anything around the house that might be a clue or an ambush.20 perception check.
RL as a mastiff does not detect anything currently threatening. His nose detects spatters of fresh blood in the house, in line with someone being assaulted rather than wounded. A chair is overturned and the table pushed on an angle, indicating a struggle. As the party enter Old Kellar's home behind RL they note the fact the hearth is unlit, indicating whatever occured here happened during the day.
Esa looks around for an open window that she could use to get outside the house. If she finds one, she gives everyone a "hush" gesture, before flying outside and around to get a better view of the man approaching.

RL will sit down under the table in mastiff form and try to look harmless while looking towards the door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Augustin waits patiently for the scouting/stealthy mission to be completed so he has more information on how best to act. He is going to listen REALLY hard to any commotion that starts, and if he feels like his friends are in trouble and our cover is blown he is going to rush in and start crushing heads. If things start looking reaally hairy, he will cast shield of faith.
He is more content now that he has thought of a plan that he can action. It is more comforting then sitting outside the Ankheg cave.

Marco looks disappointed.

Augustin blushes.
But does not require anything.
Until bed time, Augustin can be seen walking around the streets, just being an overall good guy.
