With Vakiel in the lead, and RL 15ft behind, the party enter the tower.
Vakiel enters a room that may have once been a kitchen. Thin, brown-coloured webs cover parts of the room. There is a door to the north, and a trapdoor in this room that might lead to a cellar. The sobbing has subsided, but was coming from above. There are no stairs here.
There's a set of skeletal legs sticking out from under the remains of a table. The boots seem to be in good condition, unlike the skeleton's pants. RL detects that the boots are magical.
Esa flies in, wrinkles her pretty nose up at the musty smell and weird reddish spider webs.
"They look like rust webs," she says. "Better tell Augustin to avoid these or they will quickly rust his armour. Haven't even heard of anyone finding these for a long time."
She flits over and looks at the boots. "I suppose you want me to identify them."
The fairy puts her hand on the boots, tentatively at first. Then you see the flashing patterns on her tattoo runes again as they glow in sequences until four tattoos remain glowing. Then she opens her eyes.
Augustin looks for something to put over the trap door (assuming they are going up). Perhaps a giant rock from outside.
He inspects the rest webs from a distance and wonders if they can be safely stored in a bag for use at a later date. Perhaps if we find ourselves in need of disintegrating a lock or finding an incredibly well armoured enemy. He consults with the group the best way to store this. It is apparent that he has great ideas, but sometimes lacks the wisdom to see how to get projects done that don't include gratuitous violence and/or wrestling.
Augustin can pile some of the debris over the trapdoor, which would likely make a loud noise if something pushed it. After some experimenting with the webs with a stick it seems they could be stored in a bag as a small clump of webbing, but not as webs or long strings of webbing.
RL will wildshape into a spider and crawl under the door to the north and start to explore the next room. He would like to mostly walk along the walls and ceiling to avoid anything on the floor
In the next room there appears to be nothing here but rotting leaves, errant vines, and rubbish. A staircase of questionable integrity winds its way up to the second floor.
The stairs climb up to a room that takes up half the 2nd level of the tower. The stairs continue up to the next level. There is a single door that leads to the rest of the 2nd level. The sobbing starts up again and it is coming from behind this door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Is there any furniture or anything else in the room or is it empty?
RL will investigate the stairs on his way back down to see if they will be structurally sound to support the party.
Investigation check if required. 15
He will continue back to the party after checking the stairs, by staying on the wall/ceiling.
Once back with the party he will drop wildshape and let the party know about the room beyond the door with the rotting vines/rubbish, the stairs and the room on the 2nd floor

RL will enter the room and look around and see if his detect magic picks up anything.

RL will poke the boots with his quarter staff and move them off the body using the staff.
'Hey Esa, can you please come and check these out?'

"These are Wayfarer's Boots she says.
RL will thank Esa with a deep bow.
Hey, um Vakiel, do you think these would be of use to you? and presents the boots to Vakiel
Vakiel shakes his head and waves RL off, still looking in the direction of where the sobbing is intermittently coming from.
(aka my attuned items slots are full and I need what I have!)
RL will bow again to Vakiel and go and offer the boots to Grimbald. Here do these match with your outfit?
Wayfarer's Boots
"They appear to match beautifully Rusty, that is very generous of you. Please and thank you" says Grimbald

Augustin waits patiently at the door, waiting for the safe go ahead, or sounds of drama

any magic permeating from anything in this room?
Detect magic would still be up since its concentration wouldnt it?
No magic detected.
RL will move up the stairs by moving along the side wall to see what is at the top of the stairs
He will stop if he detects anything magic or hears or sees anything

There's small mounds of rotting wood that might have been furniture at one point.
The stairs appear to be functional but RL thinks going up one at a time might be prudent.
