OOC - the roll macro wasn't working. I edited it a couple times to see if it was not spaced far enough away from the Initiative: text and no change. I am lowering the roll macro to a separate line to see if that works. If not I'll roll in the game log. I ended up having to roll in the game log. I'm not sure why the macro wasn't showing up. The coding was correct.
(( Don't sweat it too much, the in-post roller has serious issues. Using the game log is fine. ))
The stone-like creature glides in, effortless closing the gap with the party, lashing out as it lands. It targets the warlock seemingly at random, slashing at him before leaning in for a bite.
MOVE: Fly 50 feet to close in with the party ACTION: Multiattack, a claw and a bite, targeting Faith * Stone Bite - Attack: 14, Slashing Damage: 5 * Stone Claw - Attack: 17, Slashing Damage: 5

MOVE: Fly 50 feet to close in with the party ACTION: Multiattack, a claw and a bite, targeting Faith * Stone Bite - Attack: 14, Slashing Damage: 5 * Stone Claw - Attack: 17, Slashing Damage: 5
Faith stumbles back, gasping as the teeth of the creature’s fangs scrape down his clavicle and cut the flesh of his chest.
Drex hurls the mote of flame, which strikes the target's side, causing a blackened spot on the creature's ribs; its grinding screech is nearly an octave higher this time. It crouches, and its head turn towards Drex just as it suddenly becomes completely motionless for a second.
And a second is all it is; almost startling the party again with its sudden, unnatural movement, the stone-like creature lunges for the half-elf this time, swiping and biting at him as if in a rage now.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The merchant circled the creature, trying to find a blind spot but realizing it was too alert. "Well, I'd better not lose focus fighting this thing, else I'm liable to break my hands," he thought as he called upon his ki and launched his assault.
Locke hopped into a quick, tight spin, flinging out his arm into a haymaker at the last second, then reversed direction into a straight left punch, and finally switched up his footwork to deliver a chambered side kick.
ACTION: Attack with an unarmed strike * Haymaker - Attack: 22, Mundane Bludgeoning Damage: 6 (plus 7 if crit) BONUS: Spend 1 ki point to use Flurry of Blows for two additional unarmed attacks * Straight Left Cross - Attack: 17, Mundane Bludgeoning Damage: 4 (plus 2 if crit) * Chambered Side Kick - Attack: 11, Mundane Bludgeoning Damage: 11 (plus 7 if crit) REACTION: Will take any Opportunity Attacks that become available
Despite his speed, the monk finds himself unable to land a single solid blow, with his kick only glancing off the creature's stony skin. Worse... it doesn't even flinch, instead staying focused on Drex, seemingly angered at not having managed to hurt him.
While the rocky monstrosity attacks Drex, its eyes turning from Faith, the Aasimar takes the opportunity to back up 30feet, moving towards the furthest clear line of sight he can maintain.
Left hand to the gash in his leathers, staunching the bleeding from his neck, Faith spits on the ground to intone his Hex. Genie magic is not like arcana magic, nor Druidic magic. A matter of desire, and, for Efreeti, destruction. This evil creature cannot he suffered to continue its malice and wickedness, and Faith wills that it be hindered and less dexterous.
Spell cast, he points his ring at the sharp talons of the monster and makes his wish for its destruction shooting from the artifact’s gems a crackling incendiary Eldritch Blast.
[[Bonus Action: Hex, disadvantage on dexterity ability checks. 6 necrotic damage if action hits.
Action: Eldritch blast 1d10+3 force, +2 fire. AR 12, DR 10
Faith's hex on the creature takes hold, hindering it for the next hour; however, it's not enough to assist his errant Eldritch Blast which just barely misses the gargoyle.
Gordon will perform his typical attacks. (Note: because of the eldritch claw tattoo, Gordon's fists deal magical damage.) He runs foward, and without stopping, tries to slam his hand into the gargoyle's face. Instead of glancing uselessly off the rock, however, the rune on Gordon's gauntlets, and tattooed on the hands beneath, pulse with purple light, enabling them to somehow break part of the rock. He then grabs for the gargoyle's wing, and brings his other hand down on it.
Attack: 23 Damage: 8
Grapple (executed after first hit): 17
Attack: Attack: 20 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

"The Doomvault... Probably full of unicorns and rainbows." -An imaginary quote
(( The gargoyle can't succeed on his Athletics check even with a 20, so he is automatically grappled. ))
Gordon's strike lands solidly, and despite the creature moving as if made of flesh, shards of skin break off as if made of stone, prompting another shriek from the creature. With the gargoyle distracted by the pain, grabbing its wing is nearly effortless, and the adventurer's second blow knocks the creature flat on his chest; the impact cuts off its fourth screech halfway through and sends more stone-like chunks flying.
(( The gargoyle is now grappled AND prone, and is clearly on his last legs. ))
The half-elf takes his swordsword towards the target, attempting to finish it off. The gargoyle on the ground tries to squirm to avoid the blow, but Drex just manages to pierce it. However, he finds that the tough skin blunted some of the damage. As the creature tries to grab at the sword, Drex again lands a blow, this time with his dagger. And although he finds its damage blunted as well, the blade sinks in deep enough that there is one final grinding screech--before the creature goes silent and limp, eerily resembling a blood-stained statue.
(( End of Encounter ))
(( Again the clock is ticking now. With the gargoyle vanquished, the party can move on, attempt a rest, examine the surrounding area, etc. What will you all do? ))
